Kathleen G. Berger (nee Miels) of Webster Groves died Monday, April 4, 2005.
Mrs. Berger was the wife of Harold Berger; stepmother of Jeffery and Melissa Berger; sister of Mary (Sirvo) Wiemero, Anne (Robert) Hanlon, Pat (Roger) Kautz, Jean (Rick) Kienzle, Meg Heaney, Thomas (Gayle) Miels and Gerald Mielsof.
A memorial service was held April 14, at the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus at Concordia Seminary. Arrangements by Gerber Chapel.

Arthur D. Bickel of Kirkwood died Sunday, April 24, 2005.
Mr. Bickel was a 41-year employee of International Shoe Company, and a longtime member of Algonquin Golf Club. He was the husband of the late Louise L. Bickel (nee La Rue); father of Robert Arthur (Smokey) Bickel, John Thomas (Carol) Bickel and Elizabeth Bickel Clark; grandfather of John Thomas (Lori) Bickel Jr., Steven Arthur (Jenny) Bickel, Thomas Daniel (Geri) Bickel, Heather A. Bickel and Brandon A. Bickel; great-grandfather of Hunter, Andrew, Hollie and Natalie; uncle and great-uncle.
A private service and interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Manor Grove, 711 S. Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, Mo. 63122. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel.

James W. Bishop of Webster Groves died at Bethesda-Dilworth Nursing Home on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005.
Mr. Bishop was a highly decorated veteran of World War II. He fought at the Battle of the Caves in Italy in 1944, where for four days he operated a gun by himself despite having an injury to his mouth and chin and the loss of seven teeth. For this he received the Silver Star, and one of his three Purple Heart decorations. Mr. Bishop was sent back to the front lines after recovering from that injury, and lost his leg while in battle at the Seigfried Line.
Before World War II, he had been in the Civilian Conservation Corp. (CCC) and had served in Yellowstone National Park. A few years ago, the U.S. Department of the Interior contacted him for inclusion in a new archive at Yellowstone. A tape of his interview and some of his pictures are now in the archives.
Mr. Bishop and his wife and son moved to Webster Groves in 1953. He was a member of the 157th Regiment Association; CCC Alumni Association, American Legion, Disabled American Veteran and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was decorated with the Purple Heart with three oak leaf clusters, Distinguished Unit Badge, Silver Star, Bronze Star and the British Military Medal presented to him by the English ambassador in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Bishop was the husband of Bernadine (nee LaRose); father of William Rhodes Bishop; brother of Laurie Mullins, Erin Grice, Margaret Calhoun and the late Edward Bishop, Ludene Collins, Mary Mitchell and Irene Darnell; uncle, great-uncle and friend.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 10, at Annuciation Catholic Church in Webster Groves. Interment, Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Masses are preferred for memorials, or contributions to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Gerber Chapel.

Joshua "Tiny" Bishop of Webster Groves died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005. He was 21.
Mr. Bishop was born on Sept. 22, 1983, and attended Webster Groves High School. He was a beloved family member and friend to many, including Courtney Manning; Caleb Hunter; Amy, Sarah and Mike Herrel; Sarah Wickenhauser; Deanna Seratti; Samantha and Lila Levinson; Nick Corley; Joel Allen; Donta Holmes; Erica Weise; Ellie Seibert; Kris Neidig; Istvan Kobzos; Matt Schafer; Thomas Nea; Michael Sullivan; and Jimmy Johnson. He will be missed tremendously.
Interment, St. Paul's Churchyard.

Michael A. Blackmer of Kirkwood died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005.
Mr. Blackmer was the fiancee of Carol Rush; father of Daniel J. Blackmer of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 23, 4 p.m., at Grace Episcopal Church, 514 E. Argonne Dr. in Kirkwood, followed by a reception at the church. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of St. Louis. Messages of condolences may be left at www.foreverfuneralhomes.com.

Celeste Harriett Wagner Blann, a longtime resident of Rock Hill died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, in Moravia, N.Y. She was 90.
Mrs. Blann was a lifelong member of Rock Hill Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school, participated in a quilting group, and served as church secretary for many years. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed square dancing, crocheting, cooking and baking, traveling and camping. In honor, and at the request of, her brother, Lincoln Wagner, who served as mayor of Rock Hill for many years, she wrote a book entitled "A History of Rock Hill, " which was published in 1976.
Mrs. Blann and her husband Fred resided at the family home in Rock Hill until moving to Moravia, N.Y., in January 2005.
Mrs. Blann is survived by her husband of 65 years, Fred Edward Blann, who now resides at Glen House Elder Care in Moravia; her sister-in-law, Ethel Leota Wagner; children Donna Thomas, Joan and Gary Stout, and Wayne and Susie Blann; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Ken Wyatt, Alice Thomas and Kenn Daniels, Dana and Randall Shelley, Lana Stout, Grant and Maria Stout, Jeannine and Rob Reyngoudt, and Melanie Blann; four great-grandchildren, Amanda and Sophie Reyngoudt, Andrew Stout and Weston Shelley; also many loving nieces and nephews in St. Louis, Florida, Oklahoma and California.
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 26, 9 to 11 a.m., at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road in Kirkwood. Services will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment at Lake Charles Park Cemetery, following services.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Blann's honor to Skyridge Christian Ministries, Inc., 1223 Salt Springs Road, Chittenango, N.Y., 13037. Gifts will be used to help build the Summit Lodge project, an elder care home facility.

Thyra V. Bonds (nee Johnson) of Webster Groves died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005.
Mrs. Bonds was the mother of Gayle (James) Jones and the late Kassandra Bonds Johnson; grandmother of Heather and Stephen Johnson and Joel Jones; great-grandmother of India Wilkerson and Santana Johnson; sister of Haley Houston, the late Charles C. Johnson Jr. and Vega Davis; sister-in-law of Betty Johnson; aunt, great-aunt, great-great aunt, great-great-great aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 9, at First Congregational Church of Webster Groves. Interment, Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Gerber Chapel, Webster Groves.

Murrel L. Bonebrake of Kirkwood died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005.
Mr. Bonebrake was the husband of Frances A. Bonebrake; father of Patricia (Donald) Speck, Anita (Phil) Jennings, Gregory (Terri), Alan (Joyce) and Eric (Julie) Bonebrake; grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend.
Funeral services were held Oct. 3. Interment, Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Missouri Baptist Children's Home, www.mbch.org.

Paula Aulik Bowmar, formerly of Glendale, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. She was 91.
Mrs. Bowmar was born and raised in Estonia, where she and her children were caught up in World War II.
After her first husband, Voldemar Aulik, was killed, she, her children and her sister, Vaike, escaped on one of the last refugee ships leaving Estonia. She and her family were transported to a German work camp, where Mrs. Bowmar was sent daily to labor in the fields.
When the war ended in Europe, her family was trapped behind Russian lines in the Eastern Zone. She kept her family together while moving them west. Ultimately, they reached the Western Zone, where the family lived in displaced persons camps.
In August 1971, Mrs. Bowmar married Herman Bowmar of Glendale, at the First Congregational Church in Webster Groves. She remained in Glendale after her husband's death. In the summer of 1993, she moved to Morris Township, N.J., to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Jaak and Bonne Aulik.
Mrs. Bowmar was the wife of the late Herman Bowmar; mother of Helju (David) Bennett, Arvo (Suzanne) Aulik, Jaak (Bonne) Aulik, Tiina (David) Adams, and the late Inge (Bill) Adams; grandmother of Eric (Susan) Bennett, Kevin (Karen) Bennett, Bill (Toni) Adams, Tina (Matt) Lickliter, Michael Aulik, Stephanie Aulik, Lisa Adams and Kim (Chad) Johnson; sister of Vaike Raidal of Australia, Anne Vahula, and Valve Lille of Estonia. She was known as Gigi to her great-grandchildren. By marriage, Mrs. Bowmar was stepmother to the late Charlotte (Bob) Burkitt, and stepgrandmother to Bill (Jennifer) Mead and Alden (Karin) Mead, David (Susan) Luck and Melody Joy (Jack) Serra. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alexander, Richard, Osvald; and one sister, Vilma.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, 11 a.m., at Gerber Chapel, 23 W. Lockwood in Webster Groves. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Dr. William S. Brandhorst of Webster Groves died Tuesday, March 15, 2005.
Dr. Brandhorst was a graduate of Webster Groves High School, Harvard University and the Washington University School of Dental Medicine. He obtained a master's degree in orthodontics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1948, and shared a practice with his father, Dr. Otto Brandhorst. He later opened his own practice, and taught at the Washington University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Brandhorst traveled the world with his wife, and had a passion for nature and photography. He donated his extensive collection of butterflies to the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House.
He was the husband of Emilie Pickering Brandhorst for 62 years; father of Bruce, Robert and Mark Brandhorst; brother of Helen Krumboltz; grandfather of two.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 17, 2 p.m., at Grace Episcopal Church, 514 E. Argonne in Kirkwood. Interment private. Memorials to Grace Episcopal Church; the St. Louis Audubon Society, P.O. Box 22027, St. Louis, Mo. 63122; or the Dental Health Theater, 727 First Street, St. Louis, Mo. 63102.

James P. Brasington of Marshfield, Wis., died Thursday, April 28, 2005. He was 20 years old.
Mr. Brasington was the son of Richard Brasington of Webster Groves. He was born in Iowa City, Ia., and graduated salutatorian from Marshfield Senior High School in 2003. He was a gifted actor and was devoted to all aspects of the theater.
He most recently performed the leading role in "Macbeth" with the Campus/Community Players. He also portrayed Jay in "Lost in Yonkers, " George in "Our Town, " Morton in "Enemy of the People, " Linus in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, " multiple roles in "The Laramie Project" and Mike Connor in "The Philadelphia Story."
At Marshfield Senior High, he performed in "Don't Drink the Water, " "The King and I, " "The Miracle Worker" and "Little Shop of Horrors." He tirelessly helped in technical stagecraft and served as assistant director for multiple productions.
As salutatorian, Mr. Brasington was awarded the Academic Excellence Scholarship by the state of Wisconsin. He was a recipient of the AP National Scholar Award. He had been named outstanding high school chemistry student by the American Chemical Society's Central Wisconsin Section in 2003, and was the recipient of the Brannon Presidential Scholarship at Beloit College, which he planned to attend in the fall. He previously attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW-Marshfield/Wood County and summer session at Cambridge University.
His other interests included writing poetry, screenplays, short stories and plays. He studied guitar, piano, violin and played bass guitar. He enjoyed Anime, defeating his friends and siblings in video games, and was dedicated to working out.
Mr. Brasington is survived by his mother, Rebecca Bartow of Marshfield; his father, Richard Brasington of Webster Groves; his stepfather, Thomas Bartow; his stepmother, Kathleen Ferrell of Webster Groves; his brothers, Ned and William of Marshfield; sister Lizzie of Marshfield; his stepbrothers, Jamie and Joe Bartow of Marshfield; his stepsister, Melissa Johns of Webster Groves; and his grandmother, the Rev. Jean Willis of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ned Willis, and his paternal grandmother, Ethelene Brasington.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 3, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Marshfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The James Brasington Fund at the Marshfield Community Foundation, P.O. Box 456, Marshfield, Wis. 54449, to establish an acting scholarship.

Donald E. Breimeier of Sunset Hills died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005.
Mr. Breimeier was the husband of Ruth Breimeier; father of Donna (Doug) Beckmeyer, Ann (John) Krauska and David (Lisa) Breimeier; grandfather of Claire and Scott, Tess, Trish and Joe, Collin, Jacqueline and Chase; brother of Kenneth (Lois) Breimeier; cousin and friend to many.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug 27, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood. Interment, Sunset Memorial Park.
