Beloved husband of Carol Pudlowski (nee Schmalz); proud father of Suzy Ferencik (Joe), Jim Pudlowski (Elaine), Beth Kinzel (Dan), Matt Pudlowski (Inge), Jenny Dunn (Tom), Becky Bush (Mike), and Katie Lally (Tom). Fun-loving grandfather of twenty-three. Son of the late Justin and Elizabeth Pudlowski; dear brother of the late Ron (Jeanne) Pudlowski, Dean (Irma) Pudlowski, the late Jack (Mary) Pudlowski, Clare (Carl) Smith, and the late Tom (Ann) Pudlowski; dear uncle and friend to many. Judge Pud loved life, his family, his faith, the law, his alma mater, Notre Dame, and a firm handshake. Russell Stratman
Russell W. Stratman, Passed away at age 83 on Friday, April 15, 2016. Beloved husband of Shirley Mae Stratman and the late Jessie L. Stratman; loving father of Sue (Buddy) May, John (Sue) Taylor, Mike (Lisa) Firestine, Jim (Angie) Firestine and Angela (Tommy) Weatherley; loving grandfather of Jennifer Lambert, Ashley Taylor, Amanda Taylor, Delaney Taylor, Zach Taylor, Madison Firestine, Nicholas Firestine, Amy Firestine, Brian Firestine, Autumn Nason and Elizabeth Nason and great-grandfather of Brandon Petrie and Cameron Firestine; dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Russell was a longtime parishioner of Geyer Road Baptist Church.

Jacquelyn Becker
Becker, Jacquelyn S. “Jackie” (nee Everett) Jackie passed away after a long battle with Leukemia on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at the age of 80.

Beloved wife of Jerry Becker; loving mother of Mark (Joan) Becker and Kim Becker; loving and adored grandmother of Kristin and Amy. Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law and aunt will be greatly missed. A heartfelt thank you to the Hospice Team from St. Luke’s Hospital, Martha’s Hands Caregivers and Brookdale –West County.

Services: Visitation will be held at BOPP CHAPEL 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood, MO 63122 on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, with a service following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Humane Society of Missouri.

Philip Licata
Philip Michael Licata, age 63, died suddenly and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sat., Apr. 9, 2016. He is survived by his siblings: Trina Licata (Larry Riley), Christina Licata (Mike Crane), Art Licata and Gino (Marsha) Licata; nieces and nephews, cousins, an aunt, and beloved friends too numerous to mention.
Services: Visitation Thurs, Apr. 14, 4-7 pm, with memorial service at 7pm, at BOPP CHAPEL, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood.

Elizabeth Schmidt
Elizabeth Tucker Schmidt, age 92, died peacefully, April 8th, 2016, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene F. Schmidt, following him in death by exactly one year. Sister of the late Marcella Griesedieck and the late Jeanette Dougherty; dear aunt of Christine Powers, Mary Dudek (Rob), James Dougherty, Edward J. Dougherty, Jr. (Donna), and David Griesedieck (Mindy); dear sister-in-law, step-mother, great aunt and cousin; friend and mentor to many.

Elizabeth belonged to the School Sisters of Notre Dame for twenty-five years, teaching, under the name of Sister Conleth, at various schools in the St. Louis area and in California. Subsequently, she taught in the Fox School District for twenty years. She enjoyed a very active retirement and relished her years at the Cardinal Ritter Senior Living facilities.

Services: A memorial Mass will be held in the chapel at Our Lady of Life Apartments, 7655 Watson Rd., Shrewsbury, Missouri, 11:00am, Saturday, April 16th, followed immediately by a party at the same location celebrating her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Feed My People or Rosati-Kain High School.

Allan Lubin
Lubin, Allan Lewis, age 93, of Creve Coeur, Mon., April 11, 2016. Beloved husband of Patricia Vallero Lubin, dear father of Allan M. Lubin and Claire (Jean-Baptiste) Champon, beloved grandfather of Margaux and Ophelia Champon.

Allan was a U.S. Marine veteran of WW II, Pacific Theatre, 37-year employee of McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, where he worked on the DC-10 and the Space Shuttle. He was an avid golfer and tennis player, member of the Ethical Society of St. Louis and Public Revenue Education Council, a graduate of Parks Air College and earned a Master’s Degree from St. Louis University.

Private Services will be held.

Jayne Walters
Jayne S. Walters, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church, passed away April 5, 2016, in St. Louis, MO after a lengthy illness. She graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, GA in 1959, and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Jayne had a life time teacher certification and taught in elementary schools in Louisiana and Missouri. She left teaching and became a paralegal to work in a St. Louis law firm. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Louis “D.” Walters; six children and spouses- Hans (Martha), Fritz (Pat), Chris (Suzee), Eric (Connie), Gretchen (Niall Gannon) and Gerry (Brandi); thirteen grandchildren – Chrysti, Zachary, M. Camille, Eleni, Rachel, Maddy, Nathan, Reilly, Reid, Fiona, Weston, Isaak and C. Camille; a sister, Elizabeth Hitchcock; and a niece – Mary Reinhart. She had served as city treasurer of Pasadena Hills, MO; and was a certified Master Gardener in the state of Alabama and served in several capacities as a volunteer at the Huntsville, AL Botanical Gardens.
Funeral services 16 April, 2016, 11:00 a.m. – Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Visitation one hour before mass in the church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are requested.

Frank Merenda MD
Merenda, Frank J., M.D., 73, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sun. April 17, 2016. Beloved husband of Mary D. Merenda (nee English); dear father of Megan (Jeff) Muller, Laura (Brian) Guilander, FJ (Tiffany) Merenda, David Merenda, Michael Merenda, Natalie (Rob) Foushee and the late Marcy Merenda; dear grandfather of Alicia, Ethan, Charlie, Hadley, Tessa, Mason, Tyler, Blakeley, Lila and Olivia; dear brother of Laura Mendelow, Robert (Lisa) Merenda, Mary Merenda, Sam (Jeanne) Merenda, James (Gloria) Merenda, M.D., Joe (Kim) Merenda. Dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Dr. Merenda was a graduate of St. Louis Priory High School, SLU and St. Louis University School of Medicine. He practiced orthopedic surgery at Mercy Hospital for 35 years. He did volunteer work at Mercy Clinic after his retirement. He was loved by many for his sense of humor, caring and ability to entertain. Dr. Merenda loved playing the piano and spending time at the farm fishing.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, April 21, 11:00am at St. Anselm Catholic Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, from 4-8:00pm at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. At the request of the family, there will be no receiving line. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.

Mary Schneider
Schneider, Mary Jo Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Sun., April 17, 2016, beloved wife of John D. Schneider; loving mother of Anne (Rob) Golterman, John (Rosa), Robert and Mark Schneider; dear grandmother of Gabriel, Robert, Kathleen, Johanna and Alexandra.

Mary Jo fostered puppies for the Humane Society, found homes for many and volunteered at the Kirkwood Library.

Mass Fri., April 22, 10:00am at Ste. Genevieve du Bois. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Humane Society appreciated. Visitation Thurs. 4-8:00 pm at Bopp Chapel.

Edward Golterman
Golterman, Edward D., age 90, on Saturday, April 16, 2016, beloved husband of Molly Golterman (nee Stephens) and the late Dorothy Golterman (nee Macdonald), loving father of Gail (Mike) Finney, Herb (Laura) Golterman, Ned (Nora Ryan) Golterman, Andy (Nancy) Golterman and Carol (Kevin) Diffendaffer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Margaret Golterman and one son, Jack Golterman.
Funeral service Friday, April 22, 10:00 a.m. at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation Thurs. Apr. 21, 3-8 p.m. at Bopp Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dirk’s Fund Shelter.

Donald Heitert
Rev. Mr. Donald George Heitert, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Friday, April 15, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Florence Jane "Flo" Heitert (nee Callahan) for 68 years; dear father of James (Carol) Heitert, Joanne Walley, Eileen (Rick) Weber, Jacque (Jack) Riley, Dick (Vickie) Heitert, Mary (Ray) Mangrich, Tom (Denise) Heitert, and the late Janet Claire Heitert; dear grandfather of 21; dear great-grandfather of 36; dear great-great-grandfather of 7; dear brother of the late Dorothy Poehling, Jean Heitert, and Robert Heitert; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Deacon Heitert was born in St. Louis. He graduated from Gardenville Grade School and Cleveland High School, then received degrees from Washington University (electrical engineering) and University of Missouri-St. Louis (education). He spent 43 years as an electrical and physical design engineer at Emerson Electric, retiring in August 1985. He has belonged to Ste. Genevieve du Bois Parish in Warson Woods since December 1958.

In addition to parish duties, he focused primarily on the poor through his work at several food pantries--St. Liborius, St. Nicholas, the St. Louis Food Bank and Catholic Charities Home Supply Center. He also provided math and reading instruction to adults at St. Patrick's Center, assisted with youth religious instruction at Annunziata Grade School and represented the mentally handicapped before the Social Security Administration. He retired as an active deacon in February 2003.

Funeral Saturday, April 23rd, 9:30 am from Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood, to Ste. Genevieve du Bois Catholic Church for 10:00 am Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Patrick Center, or St. Vincent de Paul Society. Visitation Friday 4-8:00 pm.

William Ulz
Ulz, William Conrad, Wed., March 30, 2016. Cherished husband of Arleen Ulz (nee Laciny); dear father of David (Laura), Cynthia (Richard) Adams, Andrew (Cheryl), John (Stacey), Robert (Heather), Jane (Scott) Reeves and the late Christine Larareo. Dear grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and cousin.

William was an active member of and frequent volunteer to the Shepherd’s Center of Webster Kirkwood, longtime member of the Webster Hills United Methodist Church and a veteran of the US Army. He was aslo a member of the Sigma Epsilon Chapter and a four-year member of the football team at the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Funeral Wed., April 6, 11:00am at Webster Hills United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shepherd’s Center, 1333 W. Lockwood Ave., Glendale, MO 63122. Visitation Tues., April 5, 4:00-8:00pm at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood.

Mary Slaughter
Sister Mary Kathryn Slaughter, RSM entered eternal life on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Sister was 82 years old and a Sister of Mercy for 60 years.

Sister Mary Kathryn ministered in education in Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana and Illinois.

She also served in Administration at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, MO.

Daughter of the late Dr. Shelby Claude and Kathryn Slaughter. Sister of the late Sr. Mary Claude Slaughter, RSM, Virginia (Dr. Robert) Hughes and Shelby Claude (Joy) Slaughter.

Sister is survived by her Community of Mercy and many loving nieces and nephews.

Welcoming and Sharing of Memories will be at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in the Mercy Center Chapel, 2039 North Geyer Road followed by Eucharistic Liturgy at 6:00 pm

(Douglas) Feldmann and Brian (Michelle) Heister; dear grandmother of Matthew (Kim) Heister, Kelly (Kerry) Allen and Jesse Heister; dear great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many.

Funeral Wednesday, May 14th, 10 AM at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 PM.

Robert E. Murray

Robert E. Murray (1/09/1921 – 5/10/2014), beloved husband of Eula Mae “Conni” Murray (nee Constantino) for 64 years, dear father of Maggi M. (Jon) Steele and Paul R. Murray; loving grandfather of Matthew (Sarah) Steele, Sara Steele (Paul Morse,) and Alexander W. Murray; great-grandfather of Emersyn R. Steele. WW II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 – 1946 in both Europe and Japan. He was a long time member of the Kirkwood YMCA, where he could be seen swimming laps almost everyday until his move to Aberdeen Heights in late 2011. He was a graduate of both Harris Teacher’s College and Washington University. Bob was one of the original faculty members of St. Louis Community College (Meramec). As a dedicated professor and teacher, Bob’s commitment to education will continue after death with the donation of his body to Washington University Medical School. A celebration of life will take place at 11:00 AM at Aberdeen Heights on Monday, May 26. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Louis Community College Scholarship Fund.
