CADANAU, CAROLINE, of Willow Springs, formerly of Overland, died July 26, 2001; she was born April 9, 1903 to Mathias and Christina Mekan Schillinger in St. Louis County, MO. She was a 52 year member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 105 in Sullivan, and a member of the White Shrine. She was also a member of the Calvary United Church of Christ. Caroline is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rachel Cadanau of Willow Springs; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded, in death by her husband Otto Martin Cadanau, her daughter, Dorothy Muench, 1 brother, 2 sisters and parents. CAIN, ELLA LORENA, St. Charles, MO, February 15, 1914 - July 31, 2001, age 87; adored mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother; also a dedicated teacher. Ella graduated from Lindenwood College and acquired her master's degree from Webster University in St. Louis. She taught English/Literature at St. Charles High School before retiring. Mrs. Cain was an accomplished pianist and oil painter and a member of Business and Professional Womens Club. She is survived by her son, Robert T. Cain; daughter, joella Cain; grandchildren, Kurt Moore, Robert Moore, Joel Rotta and her granddaughter-in-law, Diane Moore; great-grandchildren, Mathew and Samantha Moore, Brandon, Josh and Luke Moore; great-great-grandchild, Dylan Moore and her brother, Dr. Ben Jolly. De MARGEL, ARMAND PAUL SR., Brentwood, MO, passed away July 23, 2001, at age 87; born in St. Louis, MO, September 18, 1913, to George and Ethel (Wilson) De Margel. He married Blanche Price on December 31, 1942 and she survives; dear father of Pat (Rod) Frees, Paul (Kateri) De Margel and Joan (Bobby) Gurski; dearest 'Papa De' to two grandsons, Matt De Margel and Adam (Becky) De Margel and four stepgranddaughters, Julie Doyle, Jenny Webster, Sara Gurski and Rachel Gurski; dearest brother of Lucille James and Mitzi McBrayer; one sister, Georgette Ginter, preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He owned and operated the Knick-Knack Snack Bar, one of the first fast food restaurants in north St. Louis County and worked as a head chef in restaurants throughout the St. Louis area.
