David Roland Billingsley, 75, of Harmontown, died Jan. 22, 2005. He was a member of Harmontown Baptist Church and an accountant.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 26 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Free Springs Cemetery in Harmontown. Bro. Matthew McGrew officiated.

He leaves his nieces, Carolyn W. Wright, Vicki W. Ferguson, both of Senatobia.

Pallbearers were John Still Jr., Butch Still, Eddie Belk, David Wright, Lee Furguson, Paul Ferguson.

Willie L. Booker
Willie L. Booker, 56, of Memphis, Tenn., died Jan. 18, 2005 at Spring Gate Rehabilitation & Nursing Home in Memphis, Tenn.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 22 at North Hopewell in Taylor. Burial was in Yocona Cemetery in Taylor. Rev. Jamuel Johnson officiated. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. of Oxford was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves three children, Pierre Talbot, Undra Booker, Adrain Booker, all of Oxford; his mother, Ida Booker of Taylor; six brothers, Eddie Booker, Fredrick Booker, both of Taylor, Milton Booker, Jessie Booker, both of Jackson, Dennis Booker of Cleveland, Ohio, Billy McGlown of South Bend, Ind.; and two sisters, Nina Oats of Colorado Springs, Colo., Martha Williams of Tulsa, Okla.

William Otis Crenshaw
William Otis Crenshaw, 78, of Corinth, died Jan. 18, 2005 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a member of Awesome Ministries Church.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 20 at Canaan Baptist Church in Benton County. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Paul Adams officiated. Magnolia Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Violet Crenshaw; two sons, Tommy Crenshaw of Corinth, Edward Lee Crenshaw of Reno, Nev.; five daughters, Sandra James, Diane Skinner, Kathy Warner, all of Corinth, Sarah Carroll of Ripley, Teresa Crenshaw of Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Dorothy Moore of Cordova, Tenn., Marguerite Barber of Heber Springs, Ark.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lee Barnes, Bradley Carroll, Brandon Warner, Mike Skinner, Dannis James, Roy Carroll, Willie Warner.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Billy Crenshaw, Henry Clay Crenshaw, Elsie Lee Crenshaw; a great-grandson, Bryson Sanders; and a brother, Edward Crenshaw.

Roosevelt Harris
Roosevelt (Big Daddy) Harris, 86, of Ashland, died Jan. 18, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville, Tenn.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 25 at Church of Christ on Hernando Road, Holly Springs. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. David Jackson, pastor, officiated. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. of Holly Springs was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Adlena Harris; his children, Sandra Harris Jones, Maude Mason, both of Ashland, Renell Harris, Mary Young, both of Holly Springs, Brenda Evans of Collierville, Tenn., Ellouise Knox of Bartlett, Tenn., Jimmy Robinson, Sarah Harris, Margret Flowers, Mildred Sharkey, all of Chicago, Ill., Queen Crawford of Ashland, Floyd Harris, Roosevelt Harris Jr. of Detroit, Mack Harris of Memphis, Tenn., Burlie Harris of Chicago, Ill., Nelson Harris, J.B. Evans, C.W. Evans, Tim Evans, Percy Evans, all of Ashland, Hosie B. Evans, Bobby Evans, Lee Evans and Jerry Evans, all of Holly Springs, McAuther Evans of Collierville; two sisters, Gladys Reliford of Memphis, Tenn., Dorothy Ayers of Lamar; and 103 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great-grandchildren.

Chester L. Hutchens
Chester L. Hutchens, 87, of Potts Camp, died Jan. 22, 2005 at home. He was a sawmill owner and operator, a flea market and auction dealer, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Heroic Achievement, and several other awards.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 25 at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. Steve Wilson officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Louise B. Hutchens; four sons, Chester E. (Peewee) Hutchens of Waterford, Buford Hutchens of Conway, Ark., Faron Hutchens of Potts Camp, Kenneth Hutchens of Hickory Flat; five daughters, Lavon Owens of Gulfport, Kathy Myers of Sardis, Virginia McCallen of Byhalia, Ophelia Warrington of Memphis, Lynda Williams of Potts Camp; a brother, Alvie Hutchens of Arlington, Tx.; a sister, Earline Minor of Hickory Flat; 27 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Tina Owens, Heather Hutchens, Lee Warrington; two brothers, Lemly Hutchens, Raymond Hutchens, a sister, Mildred Hutchens.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Joe Bennett, Chuck Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Barry Thomas, Don Lemons, David Stanton, Sonny Stanton.

Frances Pegues Hodges
Frances Pegues Hodges, 78, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Waterford, died Jan. 17, 2005 at her niece’s home in Memphis, Tenn. She was a retired domestic worker.

Memorial Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 22 at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church USA in Memphis, Tenn. Burial was in Hamilton Chapel CME Church Cemetery in Waterford. Rev. Phillips Bells officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home, Holly Springs, was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves three nieces that cared for her, Betty Broadnax, Lovie Harris, Daisy Phillips, all of Memphis, Tenn.; a nephew-in-law that cared for her, Leroy Broadnax of Memphis, Tenn.

Pallbearers were Leroy H. Broadnax, Reginald Phillips, Richie Harris, Timothy Broadnax, C. Eric Phillips, Harold D. Broadnax, Willie Carpenter, Marcus Phillips.

Alice Nell Wilson McNeely
Alice Nell Wilson McNeely, 77, of Bolivar, Tenn., formerly of Somerville, Tenn., died January 19, 2005, at Bolivar General Hospital. She was a native of Marshall County and the widow of T.J. McNeely. She was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church.

Services were conducted at 10 a.m., January 21 at the Peebles Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. John Ed Watkins, pastor of the Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Somerville, officiating. Burial was in the Forest Hill South Cemetery on Holmes Road in Memphis. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves two daughters, Sarah Burchette of Bolivar, Tenn., Betty Sue Barnet of Walls; two sons, David McNeely of Memphis, Tenn., Houston McNeely of Steele, Mo.; her sister, Gaylen Murrel of Holly Springs, Mississippi; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were David Burchette, Jr., David Burchette III, Patrick McNeely, Macky Matthews and Brian Watkins.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Morris Chapel Baptist Church, 475 Feathers Chapel Drive, Somerville, TN 38068 or to the charity or organization of the donor’s choice.

Almedia Lois Shead Peterson
Almedia Lois Shead Peterson, 54, of Florissant, Mo., formerly of Holly Springs, died Jan. 19, 2005 at her home.

Services were held on Jan. 22 at the Florissant Church of Christ. Burial was in West Tennesee Cemetery in Memphis.

She leaves her husband, Eddie Lee Peterson; three daughters, Andrea Jocelyn Brown of St. Louis, Mo., Angela Lois of Columbia, Mo., Eddra Letha of St. Louis; her parents, Charlie and Ora D. Shead of Holly Springs; six brothers, Alexander Shead, James Alvis Shead, Thomas Shead, all of Holly Springs, Charlie James Shead of Memphis, Tenn., Parmena Shead of Chicago, Ill, Larry F. Shead of Denton, Tx.; three sisters, Elvera Hampton of Calumet Park, Ill., Elzadia Johnson of Gary, Ind., Louvadia King of Memphis, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna L. and a brother, Thurman Shead.

Pallbearers, actual and honorary, were Phillip Hampton, Frederick Shead, Larry Shead Jr., Timothy Shead, Derrick Brown, Marvin Banks, Brian Bougard, Derek King, Hadrian Epting, Charles Ramey, Orlandus Bonner, Charles Spence.
