Bob was born and raised in the Hinsdale area, attending the Hatton and Frazier School, Hinsdale, Glasgow, and Saco Schools, then graduating from Newberg Oregon High School in 1936. He worked for Boeing for two years, and also for Pacific Bolt and Nut Co. Bob then joined the Merchant Marines, serving as a Captain in the South Pacific in Australia, New Guinea, and in the Gulf of Alaska on a deep sea tug.
Bob married Edrie Nelson on December 12, 1944 in Glasgow. After World War II in 1945 Bob and Edrie went back to the ranch north of Hinsdale which they operated until he retired in 1973. Bob and Edrie have been able to travel world wide, throughout all the states and provinces.
Bob is a Past Board Chairman of the Hinsdale Public Schools, Past President of the Valley Electric Cooperative, North Valley Grazing District, Montana Association of State Grazing Districts in Helena, Mid-West Electric Consumers Association of Denver, Central Montana Electric Power Cooperative of Billings and McColly Ranch of Hinsdale, a Past Advisory Board Member of
the Bureau of Land Management, Lewistown, a Past Director of the Missouri Basin Systems Group of Estes Park, Colorado, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association of Washington D.C, and a Director the First Community Bank, Hinsdale and Glasgow, since 1977, and Secretary/Treasurer of the McColly Ranch in Hinsdale.

Born in Northwood, she graduated from high school there and then attended college at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. She worked at the Johnson Department Store in Northwood until she married Lem Amundson on January 19, 1947 in Northwood. They owned Lem’s Grocery Store and Doris was a housewife in Northwood. They then followed his construction work until coming to Glasgow in 1959. They loved Glasgow and have since resided here. Doris worked at Valley View Nursing Home for 27 years, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed here yard, family, camping, fishing, boating, and in recent years focused her time on taking care of Lem. Lem passed away in 2004. She really enjoyed having company for coffee.

Paul was the youngest of seven children, six boys and one girl. His family homesteaded in Montana northeast of Lustre, MT
Paul’s parents both died when he was very young. He then moved in with relatives until the age of fifteen. During the next few years of his life he worked for his brothers on the family farm.
In 1934 Paul married Darlene Campbell of Wolf Point, MT. To this union was born three children, two boys and a girl, Dale Eugene, Lyle Darwin, and Paulie Marian.
During the years that followed he worked at the Fort Peck Dam and the State Highway Department. During World War II he worked at the Seattle Tacoma Shipyard in Tacoma, Washington. In 1959 he sold the farm and took the boys to Yakima, WA, where he went to Barbers School. He then bought his own shop and worked as a barber in Seattle.
Paul’s wife Darlene died in 1980 after a long illness. He then retired. During a visit with relatives on Glasgow he met Carol Molzhon and they married. The couple moved to Peteras, WA where they lived for 8 years.
In 1988 they moved back to Glasgow where they bought a home and have since resided. Paul and Carol were members of the St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Glasgow

Olga J. Koskey

Olga died Sunday, May 29th, 2005 at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow.
Services will be Friday, June 3rd, 2005 at 2p.m. at Bell Chapel in Glasgow, MT.
Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow, MT.
Olga J. Koskey was born March 14th, 1913 to Hans and Julia Opsahl on the farm near Tampico, MT. She attended the Billingsley County School and Glasgow High School. She married Louie Koskey on January 14th, 1930. They spent their honeymoon in a sheep wagon on the parairie where Louie herded sheep. They later moved and worked for the Roy Billingsley Ranch for several years. They lived at New Deal during the construction of the Fort Peck Dam and she worked at the grocery store for Otto Silverman and Louie worked as a welder on the tunnels. They later moved to the Tampico area where they bought a small farm. They moved to Glasgow in 1954. At that time she went to work at Sam' Supper Club for Sam and Irene Allie, where she worked for many years. She was a member of the Far and Wide Club in Tampico for several years and a member of the First Lutheran Church.
Olga was known by most people in Glasgow simply as "Grandma", she enjoyed all of her friends. Knitting, crocheting, and sewing were her magnificent talents. She looked forward to entering her exhibits in the Glasgow Fair each year where she received many rosettes, blue ribbons, best of fair and being Crochet Queen.
Her greatest love was her grandcholdren and great grandchildren who she cheered on through all their sports and other events. Teaching them her wonderful talents so they could carry them on. She loved her home at Nemont Manor and playing bingo and cards with her friends.
Olga is survived by two daughters; Julie (Marvin) Olson, and Karen Beede Maxness both of Glasgow, one brother; Morris Opsahl of Dayton, Wyoming, one cousin; Christ Lund of Glasgow, seven grandchildren; Wendy (Joe) Harper of Minot, ND., Patty Guy of Glasgow, Billy (Terri) Beede of Billings, MT., Dennis (Kim) Olson of Bismarck, ND., Michelle (Emmett) Dougherty of Lewiston, Idaho, John (Dana) Maxness of Helena, MT., Laura (Dean) Barnes of Nashua, MT. great grandchildren; Nathan (Diane) Huff, Tori, Tana and "Bo" Beede, Katie, Maggie and Micayla Dougherty, Michael and Kaylee Olson, Alexa Barnes, Erin and Ethan Maxness, Morgan Scott, Tim (Lisa) Harper, Jim (Robin) Harper, Jackie (Brad) Podruchny, Gina (Brad) Solemsaas and Jennifer (Wayde) Sick.
Olga is preceded in death by her parents, husband Louie, three sisters, five brothers and one son-in-law Gordon Maxness.

Jack lived in Whitetail, Montana. He married Edith White on April 20, 1935 in Butte, Montana. He served during World War II in the US Army in the European Theatre. After they were married they lived in Fort Peck, Nashua, and Glasgow. Jack was a carpenter for many years.
He was a member of the American Legion, Carpenter’s Union, Lions Club, Nashua Community Club, and Nashua Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and gardening.

Sisters: Edna Kostenick of Stevensville, MT
Jean Cook of Flaxville, MT

Eldon Barnard
Monday, May 23rd 2005
MALTA - Eldon Barnard, 86 years, a retired rancher and WW II Navy Veteran, died Thursday, May 19, in Arizona while visiting his sister.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 27, at the American Legion Hall in Hinsdale, Montana with burial in the Hillview Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Thursday at the Adams Funeral Home in Malta. Adams Funeral Home of Malta is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his sons, Pete Barnard of Billings, Jack Barnard, Chet (Mary Ann) Barnard, Steve (Jodi) Barnard all of Hinsdale, daughters, Jean Barnard of Sidney, Cathy (Roy) Allen of Billings; sister, Flora McNiel of Yarnell, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Ethel Barnard of Saco, Dorothy Johnson of Glasgow, Dorothy Wigen of Spokane; 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda in 1982; brothers, Tom. Lloyd, Somers, Howard, and Monty Barnard; sister Myrtle Neiland.
Eldon was born June 29, 1918 in Leedy, Montana the son of J.O. and Virginia (Banks) Barnard. He started his education in the Leedy School and finished it at the Malta High School. He enlisted in the Navy in October of 1942 and served in the Asiatic-Pacific area and was Honorably Discharged in 1945. He married Hilda C. Johnson on November 5, 1946 in Malta. They purchased a ranch on the Frenchman’s Creek, North of Saco. Eldon served as a director on the Farmers Union Coop for many years and on the board of the Phillips County State Grazing Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. Eldon was the Landowner Sportsman of the year in 1972.
