Alpha Henrietta (Carter) Lacock died June 12, 2006, of natural causes at the Valley View Rest Home in Glasgow.
Alpha was born January 8, 1912, in Sego, Kansas to Charles and Eva (Henry) Carter. At the age of 15 months the family moved to Montana, where they homesteaded 15 miles northeast of Hinsdale. She attended the Nault Miller, Sunflower, Richter and Hinsdale schools.
June 30, 1931 she married Thomas Lacock. All their married years were spent in the Hinsdale area except for seven years when they lived in Sandpoint, Idaho. She was a hard worker, raising 10 children, working in the fields while cooking, washing, sewing and keeping house in less than easy conditions. An excellent seamstress, her children never wore ˜store-bought” clothing until they moved away from home. After moving into the town of Hinsdale, she sewed for people in the community. Her other skills included tatting, quilting and embroidering. She was a member of the Assembly of God church in Saco.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include her 10 children: 1 son, Melvin (Julie) Lacock of Simpsonville, SC; 9 daughters: Eva (Othel) Tucker of Coeur d’Alene, ID; Leora (Paul) Needham of Sandpoint, ID; Elaine (Ron) Dyer of Shalimar, FL; Geneva (Ron) Anderson of Siletz, OR; Carolyn (Bob) Young of Bonney Lake, WA; Evelyn (Gene) Beil and Lois (Craig) Rutherford of Hinsdale, MT; LaVerne Davis and Zella (Bob) Farrell of Glasgow MT; 32 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Dortha Christensen of Vancouver, WA and Mabel Johnson of Shoshone, ID.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 10:00 AM at the Methodist Church in Hinsdale, with Bell Mortuary of Glasgow in charge of arrangements.
Interment will follow at the Hillview Cemetery at Hinsdale.

PARENTS: Anton Gustafson and Hulda (Pederson) Gustafson
He attended schools in Anaconda and Deer Lodge and graduated from Deer Lodge High School in 1939. He began his college in 1940 at Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Oregon and was ordained as a minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1941.
Evert married Virginia McKittrick in Billings on September 9, 1943. He served the Camp Creek Christian Church from 1941 to 1945, the Goshen Christian Church from 1946 to 1948, the Conrad Christian Church in 1949, and the Miles City Christian Church from 1950 to 1954.
They moved to Glasgow in 1954 to serve the Glasgow Christian Church and went into business for himself in the Glasgow Body Shop. In 1958 he changed his business to Glasgow Glass and worked as a contractor of primarily glass, flooring, and insulation.
The Glasgow Christian Church closed in 1969. After that time Evert pastored in Methodist Churches in Glasgow, Opheim, Hinsdale, Saco, and Malta. He also filled in for pastors in Glasgow and performed many weddings and funerals throughout northeastern Montana. His wife Virginia passed away on February 23, 1970.
He was a member of the Lions, Kiwanis, and the Elks. Gus loved theater and music. He had a great love for his family and the members of his churches and the people of northeastern Montana.

Bev graduated from high school in Havre. On September 4, 1971 she married Gary Gardner in Glasgow, MT. She worked in the Valley County Courthouse for a number of years then went to work for the First National Bank in 1972 where she retired in August of 2005.
Bev was a member of the St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, managed the St. Raphael’s religious gift shop for several years, and was active in the St. Raphael’s Altar Society. She also was a member of the Valley County Ridgerunners, Glasgow Elks, lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, and enjoyed bike riding with Gary. Bev loved her yard and gardening, her flowers, cooking and baking, and was an excellent old school cook.
After retirement she had more time to spend with family, including taking care of Dexter, her grandson, every day. She prayed the Rosary everyday.
She was preceded in death by her brother Greg Gilman of Bakersfield, CA.

Paula married Jimmy Don Owen in 1983 in Fort Worth, Texas. Paula enjoyed sewing, interior decorating, and painting. She also liked to be outside with her dog Skippy.

Anna Mae Stein was born February 19, 1923 in Glentana, Montana to John and Gertrude Zimmer. She was raised in Glentana on the farm and attended school in Glentana. On November 15, 1945 she married Raymond Stein at Glentana, and they lived on the farm in Glentana until coming to Glasgow in 1952. Raymond died on February 28, 1982. She always cared for elderly people in the community and was always very active in church. She loved her Bible Study.
Anna Mae enjoyed yard work and gardening, baking and cooking. She was a member of the Alter Society, and loved her grandkids.
