Violet Theisen
A Memorial Service for Violet Theison will be held on Saturday, October 9th, 1999 at the Hillview Cemetery at Hinsdale at 11:00 a.m.

Violet Theison passed away September 1998 in Brainard, Mn.

Survivors include, niece: Bonnie Arnold of Glasgow.

Erick A. Olson
Erick A. Olson 91, died at Our Place Nursing Home in Glasgow of natural causes on October 4th, 1999. Services will be held on Friday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. in the Hinsdale Legion Hall in Hinsdale with the burial at the Hillview Cemetery in Hinsdale. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Erick A. Olson was born in Boyd, Minnesota on December 3rd, 1907. Erick was a rancher-farmer who spent most of his life on his farm north of Hinsdale. His family moved to Montana in June of 1910. He attended school in Hinsdale, and worked on the Fort Peck Dam as a young man. In November of 1954 he married Grace Callahan Harbeck; she died in 1969. He had spent the last three years of his life in Our Place Nursing Home in Glasgow.

Survivors include, sister: Louise Heikilla of Boulder City, NV., nephew: Sidney Simonson of Hinsdale, nieces: Jean Williamson and Grace Kline of Seattle Wa.

Melvin “Bud” Erickson
Melvin “Bud” Erickson 65, died at Williston, North Dakota of heat failure on October 2nd, 1999. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 5th at 10:00 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow with the burial at the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow, with Military Honors. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Melvin “Bud” Erickson was born in Williston on October 26th, 1933. Bud was born and raised in Williston and then attended Northern Montana College in Havre. He served in the US Air Force serving in the Azores Islands, Fairchild Air Force Base, and Biloxi Air Force Base. Bud went to work on the Great Northern Railroad in 1955 retiring as a conductor in 1996. He has lived in Glasgow since 1962. On December 28th, 1993 he married Penny Fassett in Glasgow. He was a life member of the VFW, a member of the Elks, the United Train Workers Union, and enjoyed whist, fishing, and sports.

Survivors include, wife: Penny, sons: Tony and Lynn from Glasgow, Brian from Baker, and Jeff from Billings, step-children: Ray Stevens of Kentucky and Connie Novasio of Bridger, Mt., and 12 grandchildren.

Roy N. Squires
Roy N. Squires, 53, died Monday, September 20, 1999, of an apparent heart attack, while working 9 miles NW of Saco. He was brought to the Phillips County Medical Center in Malta by ambulance and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday, September 24, at the Saco Lutheran Church, with military graveside honors at the Grandview Cemetery in Saco. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born in 1946 in Glasgow to George and Martha Squires, and graduated from Saco High in 1964. He worked for the Moral Hanson Ranch prior to serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, and after his discharge he returned to the Ranch and worked there for over 30 years. He married Eva "Boots" Davis in Saco in 1978.

He was preceded in death by his wife in April, 1999, his father in 1979, and his stepdaughter in 1983.
Survivors include his mother, Martha Squires of Saco; 1 son, Lesley Joe Squires of Havre; 1 stepson, J.D. Taylor of Cut Bank; stepdaughters Cindy Taylor of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Suzi Simpson of Saco, and Angela Gillette of Havre; 1 brother, Gary Squires of Saco; 2 sisters, Duree Hopper of St. Marie and Doreen Dale of Malta; and 5 step grandchildren.

Evelyn Viola Pearson
Evelyn Viola Pearson died at age 84 of natural causes on September 17, 1999 at her home in Glasgow. Services will be Tuesday, Sept 21 at 2pm at Bell Chapel in Glasgow, with Harry Fauth officiating and with burial in Highland Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Benson, Minnesota, in 1915 and moved to the Larslan Community in the 1930’s. She married Arnold Pearson in Glasgow in 1941. In the earlier years of her marriage, she did the mail route from Nashua to Larslan delivering mail and groceries to farms and cream cans from the farms back to Glasgow and Nashua. She baked everything for the farm crews and her family. They stayed on the farm until they retired in 1978, and moved to Glasgow where she and Arnold owned and operated the Rustic Lodge. He passed away in 1981. She belonged to the Larslan Lutheran Church and ALCW and also taught Bible School. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, sewing and working on crossword puzzles.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Sandra Nelson of Billings and Linda Conway and her husband Joe of Havre; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

James (Jimmy) Murphy

James (Jimmy) Murphy 94, died at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow of natural causes on September 14th, 1999. Services will be held on September 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bell Chapel in Glasgow with the burial in the Highland Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

James (Jimmy) Murphy was born in Page, North Dakota on August 24th, 1905. He graduated from the Page High School in 1924, moved to Havre in 1924 and worked for Buttrey Foods. He married Erma Naline Lohmann on September 27th, 1937 in Page. She passed away on April 16th, 1999. Working for Buttrey Foods, they moved to Malta in 1944 and Glasgow in 1948 where he worked until he retired in 1970. He was a charter life-time member of the Glasgow B.P.O.E. Elks lodge #1922. He enjoyed talking to little children and visiting with friends, walking, and camping.

Survivors include, daughter: Marilyn Murphy Widhalm of St. Marie, step-daughter: Bernice Lohmann Barrett of Glasgow, sister: Inez Stecker of Mesa, Az., 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 nephews.

Ingrahm I. Bellon

Ingrahm I. Bellon 59, died at Nashua from an automobile accident on September 13th, 1999. Services will be held on September 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Ingrahm I. Bellon was born in Nashua Montana on November 11th, 1940. He lived and was raised in Nashua and served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963. Ingrahm then lived in Rapid City where he worked on the missile site. On October 10th, 1964, he married Faye Zemliska in Opheim. He farmed north of Nashua and also did custom farming. He loved snowmobiling. He also was active in tractor pulling from 1978 - 1982, and he loved his farming.

Survivors include, wife: Faye Bellon of Nashua, sons: Swede Bellon of Salt Lake, Ut., Sgt. George Bellon of Germany, sisters: Virginia Yager and Jaylein French, both from Nashua, brothers: Leo Bellon of Los Angeles, Ca., and John Bellon of Nashua.

Helen G. Archambeault

Helen G. Archambeault 83, died at St. Vincents Hospital in Billings of heart failure on September 8th, 1999. Services will be held on September 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow with the burial in the Highland Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Helen G. Archambeault was born in Glasgow, Montana on February 15th, 1916. She was raised on the family homestead East of Glasgow. Helen graduated from Glasgow High School and attended the College of Great Falls. On December 24th, 1938, Helen and Lewis Archambeault were married at Wolf Point, Montana. After their marriage, they lived on a ranch north of Fort Peck from 1945 - 1973, when they retired and moved into Glasgow. They spent the winters in Mesa and Peoria, Arizona. Helen liked to cook, enjoyed golf, loved flowers and animals. She always had a dog or cat, or both. She was a member and former vice president of the "Montana Cowbelles", an auxiliary of the Montana Stockgrowers Association.

Survivors include, husband: Lewis Archambeault of Glasgow, son: Gerald T. "Buck" Archambeault and his wife Kelly of Glasgow, guardian son: Bob Livingston of Glasgow.

Roy McIntyre, Jr.

Roy McIntyre, Jr. 76, died at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow of cancer on September 3rd, 1999. Services will be held on September 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the Bell Chapel, Glasgow with a private burial in the Glasgow Cemetery. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Roy McIntyre, Jr. was born in Akron, Ohio on December 13th, 1923. Roy attended schools in Summit Country, Ohio and graduated from Springfield Township High School in June 1st, 1942. He enlisted in the US Navy on June 6th, 1943 and served continually until July 1st, 1972. Roy married Maudine (Deane) Stewart on August 1st, 1955 in Yankton, South Dakota. During his continued service, Roy attained the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. He served aboard a total of 14 aircraft carriers and many aircraft squadrons. He also served during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Master Chief Petty Officer McIntyre had resided at Saint Marie, Montana for the last 10 years, moving here from Lake City, Florida. He was a life member of the VFW Post 836 of Bisbee, Arizona, and a life member of the Fleet Reserve Association. Roy was also a Plank owner of the US Navel Memorial in Washington in Washington, D.C. Roy was also a communicant of the Episcopal Church.

Survivors include, wife: Maudine (Deane) Stewart McIntyre of St. Marie, Mt., daughter: Charlene McLemore (Tony) of Alma, Georgia, son: Ralph D. McIntyre (Ester) of Lake City, Florida, sister: Jessie McIntyre Burrows of Junction City, Oregon, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Geraldine "Geri" Hollandsworth
Geraldine “Geri” Hollandsworth, 80, died of natural causes on August 31st, 1999 at Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital. Services will be Tuesday, September 7th, at 10am at the First Lutheran Church in Glasgow, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Rev. Martin Mock will officiate. Bell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in 1919 in Timber Lake, South Dakota, and was raised in South Dakota. She married J. Forest Hollandsworth at Olympia, Washington, in 1939. They came to Glasgow in 1990, when they moved to Nemont Manor. He passed away in 1991.

Geri taught school in Alice Elementary School in Springfield, Oregon. She did volunteer work in Children’s Hospital in Eugene, Oregon. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and writing poetry.

Survivors include 2 sons: Richard of Buckley, Washington, and David of Ashland, Oregon; 1 daughter, Sheila Fast of Glasgow; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 3 sisters: Ursula Jackson of Sun City, Audrey Anthes of Portland, Evelyn Peterson of El Paso, Texas; 3 brothers: Dan O'Leary of El Paso, Texas, Bob O’Leary of Brush Prairie, Washington, and Gordon O’Leary of Brush Prairie, Washington; and a dear friend, Gene McNabb.
