Mr. Selmer G. Larson
CLEMMONS - Mr. Selmer G. “Bud” Larson, of Clemmons, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at his home. He was a former resident of Burlington.
Born Aug. 27, 1922, in Casper, Wyo., he was the husband for 55 years of Mrs. Shirley Tolman Larson, who survives, and the son of Mr. Selmer N. Larson and Mrs. Grace Schultz Larson, both deceased. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in the European Theater from 1942 to 1946. He was a graduate of the University of Utah and was employed with Western Electric for 30 years as a field engineer.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Ms. Robyn Larson Bray of Winston-Salem; two sons, Mr. Michael S. Larson of San Marcos, Calif., and Mr. Charles M. (June) Larson of Graham; a sister Ms. Martha Larson Williams of Kennewick, Wash.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Robert Larson.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Winston-Salem, 1100-C South Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.

Mrs. Hazel Dickerson Hodges
REIDSVILLE - Mrs. Hazel Dickerson Hodges, 64, of 574 Salem Church Road, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Wake Forest University Medical Center in Winston-Salem after a short illness.
A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of Mr. Andrew Franklin Dickerson and Mrs. Cora Guy Dickerson, both deceased. She was retired from Miller Brewing Co. and was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Barbara (Donny) Massey of Macon, Ga.; two sons, Mr. Daryl (Mary) Hodges and Mr. Rusty (Lannette) Hodges, both of Reidsville; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bowlin of Kernersville, Mrs. Effie Denny of Reidsville and Mrs. Shirley Smith of Durham; a brother, Mr. John Franklin Dickerson of Reidsville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday at Penn Memorial Baptist Church.
The family will be at the home at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

BURLINGTON - Mr. John B. Fuller, 53, of 212 Lee’s Cut, Wrightsville Beach, died Monday April 16, 2001, in Wilmington.
Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

Mr. Glen A. Manson
COCOA, Fla. - Mr. Glen A. Manson, 42, of 4090 Royal Palm Ave., died Friday, April 13, 2001, at Wuesthoff Memorial Hospital in Rockledge, Fla.
Born Oct. 31, 1958, in Succasunna, N.J., he was the son of Mr. Thomas Manson, who survives, and the late Mrs. Ava Ann Bellah Manson. He was a carpenter.
Survivors other than his father of Burlington include a stepmother, Mrs. Violet Manson of Burlington; a sister and five brothers.
A memorial service was conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001, at South Brevard Funeral Home in Melbourne Fla.

Mrs. Blanche Haith Enoch
MEBANE - Mrs. Blanche Haith Enoch, 91, of 1002 Miles Chapel Road, died at 8:20 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2001, at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Graham after a long illness.
A native of Orange County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Coy Roy Enoch, and the daughter of Mr. Benjamin Haith and Mrs. Lessie Fuller Haith, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of White Level Primitive Baptist Church in Mebane.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Daniel B. Enoch and Mr. James Enoch, both of Stamford, Conn.; four sisters, Mrs. Lucille Barbee of Mebane, Mrs. Mamie Tyner of Burlington, Mrs. Sally Florence of Washington and Mrs. Lennie Cole of Stamford; a brother, Elder Floyd Haith of Burlington; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Mr. J.C. Enoch; a sister, Ms. Floretta Haith; and two brothers, Mr. Hassie Haith and Mr. James Haith.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sharpe Memorial Chapel by Elder Darius Dixon, pastor of White Level Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Snowhill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at the Sharpe Memorial Chapel 30 minutes before the service Wednesday.

The Rev. Clyde H. Cooke
RICHMOND, Va. - The Rev. Clyde H. Cooke, 79, of Richmond, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Lakewood Manor Baptist Retirement Community.
He was the husband for 47 years to the late Mrs. Mary Louise Little Cooke. He was pastor at Fort Lee, Amelis, Forest Lawn and Skinquarter Baptist Churches, and he served as interim pastor at Bellwood Baptist Church, all in Richmond, before retiring. He was the owner of Blaze Control and served with the volunteer fire department, the PTA, Band Boosters and participated in the Ruritan Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jane C. (James E.) Barnard of Amelia, Va., and Mrs. Kevin E. (Gayle F. Cooke) Buckley of Apex; three grandchildren; and relatives in the Burlington area.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Edwin Cooke.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Manor Baptist Retirement Community, 1900 Lauderdale Drive.
Memorials may be made to Prison Fellowship, 1101 Forest Ave., Richmond, Va., 23226.

Mrs. Armecie Drue Whitaker Payne
RALEIGH - Mrs. Armecie Drue Whitaker Payne, 83, of 1405 Savannah Drive, died Thursday, April 12, 2001.
Born Feb. 25, 1918, in Wake County, she was married to the late Mr. Andrew Payne in 1949. She attended Poplar Spring United Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Dr. La Rah and Mrs. Yvonne Payne of Raleigh; a sister, Ms. Doris Whitaker of Raleigh; three brothers, Mr. E.O. Whitaker of Burlington, Mr. Cato Whitaker of Raleigh and Mr. Kermit Whitaker of Garner; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday at Macedonia United Christian Church. Burial will be in Carolina Biblical Gardens.
The family will be at the church one hour before the service.
Haywood Funeral Home Inc. in Raleigh is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Javier Rodriguez
MEBANE - Mr. Javier Rodriguez of 202 Supper Club Road, Lot 25, Mebane, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000.
A native of San Pablo, Mexico, he was the husband of Mrs. Emelda Hernandez Rodriguez, who survives, and the son of Mr. Juan Perez Rodriguez, and Mrs. Serafina Espitia Rodriguez, who survive.
He was an installer with Tillman Air Conditioning Service and a Catholic.
Survivors other than his wife of Mexico and his parents of Mebane include a daughter, Miss Andrea Rodriguez of Mexico; two sisters, Miss Graciola Rodriguez of Mexico, and Miss Alina Rodriguez of Mebane; and four brothers, Mr. Juan Rodriguez and Mr. Jose Luiz Rodriguez, both of Mexico, and Mr. Alejandro Rodriguez, and Mr. Hector Rodriguez, both of Mebane.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. Burial will be in San Pablo, Mexico.
The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 6 to 9 Tuesday evening and at other times at the home.

Mr. George David Bowers
GRAHAM - Mr. George David Bowers, 60, of 814 E. Elm St., Lot 17, died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at his home after a critical illness of three months.
A native of Macon County, he was the husband of Mrs. Ollie Pettie Bowers, who survives, and the son of Mr. Charlie Bowers and Mrs. Lily Wilson Bowers, both deceased. He was a retired textile employee and a Baptist.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two sons, Mr. Dennis Daivs of Wilksboro and Mr. Ronald David Bowers of Graham; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Lorrene Dixon and Mrs. Kay Rackley, both of Burlington, Ms. Vicky Bowers of Mebane and Mrs. Tilly Hill of Whitsett; two stepsons, Mr. Donavin Wicker of High Point and Mr. Timmy Wicker of Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Jimmy (Blanche) Overman of Burlington, Ms. Linda Bailey, Mrs. Cline (Faye) Grizzle and Ms. Willa Mae Grizzle, all of Hayesville; 9 grandchilden; and three step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gail Guffey and Mrs. Nancy Smith; and three brothers, Mr. Carl Bowers, Mr. Burl Bowers and Mr. John Henry Bowers.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moores Chapel cemetery by the Rev. Robbie Lowe.
The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 9:30 to 10:30 Tuesday morning.

Mr. James Rankin Greeson
BURLINGTON - Mr. James Rankin Greeson, 78, formerly of Woodridge Road, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Burlington Manor.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Frances Kizer Greeson, who survives, and the son of Mr. Lacy Walter Greeson and Mrs. Daisy Loy Greeson, both deceased. He was a retired employee of Western Electric and a member of Trinity Worship Center.
Survivors other than his wife of Graham include a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Vickie) Whitaker of Raleigh; a sister, Mrs. Cora Frances Gatton of Statesville; four brothers, Mr. Walter Greeson of Burlington, Mr. Keith Greeson of Burgaw, the Rev. Samuel Greeson of Danville, Va., and Mr. Jesse Greeson of Kannapolis; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Paul Greeson and Mr. John Greeson.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Worthip Center by the Rev. Darrell Cox, pastor, and Dr. James Gardner, former pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 to 8 this evening.

Mr. William Henry Charles Gerlach
WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Mr. Willam Henry Charles Gerlach, 64, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000 at St. Ann’s Hospital.
He was the husband of Mrs. Donna Burdge Gerlach, who survives and the son of Mr. William H. Gerlach and Mrs. Helen Penman Gerlach, both deceased. He was retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of the Inspector General and a graduate of the University of Kentucky Law School. He was member of American Philapelic Society, Worthington Stamp Club and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Ms. Eve Kathryn Gerlach of Columbus, Ohio, Ms. Cecilie Gerlach of Westerville; and two brothers, Mr. John (Diane) Gerlach of Burlington and Mr. Walter (Betty) Gerlach of Hopkinsville, Ky.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road. A private funeral will be conducted at a later date.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 9 Tuesday evening.
