Mrs.Sue W. Ledbetter

WENDELL - Mrs. Adelaide Sue Wall Ledbetter, 82, of 84 Hanor Lane, Apt. A-102 died at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.

A native of Henrietta, she was the wife of the late Mr. Thomas Baxter Ledbetter, and the daughter of Mr. Hardaway P. Wall and Mrs. Pearl M. Wall Wall, both deceased. She was a retail sales clerk for Belk Beck in Burlington and was a member of First Baptist Church of Burlington.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Freida L. Starke of Richmond, Va., and Mrs. Belinda C. Womack of Raleigh; two sisters, Mrs. Mary D. Greenway of Elizabeth City and Mrs. Hazel M. Snow of Greenville, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Hilda A. Stowe; and two brothers, Mr. Cecil H. Wall and Mr. Rohe P. Wall.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Burlington by Dr. Dale O. Steele, pastor of Penelope Baptist Church in Hickory, and the Rev. Glen Greenway of Elizabeth City. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the serivce. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at the church from 1 to 1:45 Friday afternoon.

Lowe Funeral Home in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jane B. Bennett

GREENSBORO - Mrs. Jane Ellen Barger Bennett, 63, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, in the Hospice Unit of Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro after several months of failing health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Carson Lee Bennett who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Moses James Barger and Mrs. Ethel Parker Barger, both deceased. She was employed by Surgical Center of Greensboro as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

She graduated from John Nichols High School in Oxford in 1952, from Watts Hospital School of Nursing in 1955 and from the Watts Hospital School of Anesthesia in Durham in 1958. She had worked as a nurse anesthetist since 1958. She was employed by Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital for 14 years and at hospitals in South Boston, Virginia. She was a member of the N.C. Association of Nurse Anesthetists and a member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include one son, Dr. Carson Lee Bennett II of Los Angeles; one sister, Miss Patsy Ruth Barger of Raleigh; two brothers, Mr. Cecil R. Barger of Burlington and Mr. Franklin L. Barger of Jacksonville.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ms. Margaret B. Wilson and Ms. Barbara B. Cooke; and four brothers, Mr. Jimmy A. Barger, Mr. Billy R. Barger, Mr. Jack K. Barger and Mr. Donald S. Barger.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from 7 to 9 Thursday evening, and at other times, at the home of the brother, Mr. Cecil Barger, 1309 Greenwood Terrace, Burlington.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405.

Mrs. Mary D. Frye

LIBERTY - Mrs. Mary Decie Dark Frye, 79, of 3035 Way Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, at Piedmont Christian Home.

A native of Chatham County, she was the wife of Mr. William 'Bill' Frye, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. A. Bert Dark and Mrs. Nan Cooper Dark, both deceased. She was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. She was a retired employee of Stout Chair Co. in Liberty.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include three sisters, Ms. Berta Albright, Ms. Dorothy MacDaniel and Ms. June Huddleston, all of Siler City.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Liberty. Burial will be in Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home from 7 to 9 Thursday evening, and at other times at the home.

Mr. Willie F. Warren

CORONA, N.Y. - Mr. Willie Frank Warren, 69, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, in Corona after a long illness.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. Thomas Warren and Mrs. Polly Bradsher Warren, both deceased.

Survivors include three brothers, Mr. Al Warren of Burlington, Mr. John Warren of Flushing, N.Y., and Mr. Robert Warren of Corona; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Pulliam of Burlington, Mrs. Ruby Russell of Yanceyville, Mrs. Catherine Thurmond of Addison, Ill., Mrs. Rosa McDougal of Maywood, Ill., and Mrs. Ora Warren of Corona.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Sharpe Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Robert Vanhook. Burial will be in Sweet Gum Grove Church cemetery.

The family will be at Sharpe Memorial Chapel from 6 to 8 Thursday evening, and at other times at 415 Green St., Burlington.

Mrs. Jane B. Bennett

GREENSBORO - Mrs. Jane Barger Bennett, 63, of 4303 Golden Rod Drive died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at the Hospice Unit of Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro after several months of failing health.

Mrs. Hazel B. Coffey

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Hazel Badgett Coffey, 77, of 611 Atwater St. died Sunday evening, Nov. 30, 1997, at her home.

A native of Surry County, she was the wife of Mr. Lynn Allen Coffey, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Thomas Lafayette Badgett and Mrs. Mary Moser Badgett, both deceased. She was a member of the Burlington Assembly of God.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Harrill of Charlotte.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Mary Anne Coffey; three sisters, Mrs. Lula B. Needham, Mrs. Yvonne B. Hodge and Mrs. Alma B. Waddell; and three brothers, Mr. Jess Badgett, Mr. George Badgett and Mr. Clive Badgett.

Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.

Mrs. Marie V. Coble

BROOKLYNN, N.Y. - Mrs. Marie Vanhook Coble, 80, of 1617 Lincoln Place died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1997, at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York.

A native of Durham County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Haywood Eugene Coble, and the daughter of Mr. Young Vanhook and Mrs. Annie Vanhook, both deceased. She was a member of Melfield United Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Barbara Jean Coble of New York; a sister, Mrs. Elmer V. Parker of Bahama; four brothers, Mr. Thomas Vanhook of Graham, Mr. P.T. Atwater, Mr. Mack Atwater and Mr. Nello Atwater, all of Saxapahaw; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Melfield United Church of Christ by the Rev. Dannie T. Williams, pastor, and the Rev. K. Ray Hill. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Farr-Morr Cemetery.

The family will be at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home from 7 to 8 Wednesday evening, and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ashmore Carr, 3472 N.C. 119 South, Haw River.

Mr. Robert A. Council

BURLINGTON - Mr. Robert Alvin Council, 76, of 100 Wade Coble Drive, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at Twin Lakes Center.

A native of Rocky Mount, he was the husband of Mrs. Frances J. Council, who survives, and the son of Mr. Robert Francis Council and Mrs. Betty Council, both deceased. He was retired from A.B. Carter Co. and was a U.S. Navy Bosun's Mate in World War II serving in the South Pacific. He was a Mason and a member of First Baptist Church of Elon College.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Daphne Wagoner of High Point; a son, Mr. Donald Council of Winchester, Va.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Twin Lakes Chapel by the Rev. Norman Harris, pastor or First Baptist Church of Elon College and Sister Cathy Fanslau, chaplain of Twin Lakes Chapel. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 Wednesday evening, and at other times at Guest House of Twin Lakes Center, 1697 Westbrook Ave., Elon College.

Ms. Martha L. Nance

REIDSVILLE - Ms. Martha E. 'Patty' Layne Nance, 91, of 1202 9B Gunn St., died Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, 1997, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

A native of Pittsylvania County, Va., she was a homemaker and a member of McLeansvlle Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, the Rev. Jack Nance of Winston-Salem, Mr. Maynard Nance and Mr. E. Aaron Nance, both of Browns Summit, and Mr. Paul Nance of Gibsonville; four daughters, Mrs. Mary N. McGee of Reidsville, Ms. Allene N. Simpson Kallam of Browns Summit, Mrs. Alma N. Clark of Reidsville and Ms. Sue N. Gunn of Augusta, Ga.; 27 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ms. Stella Nance Moody.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in Reidsville. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.

The family will be at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 Wednesday evening, and at other times at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Allene Simpson Kallam, 8081 Old Reidsville Road, Browns Summit.

Mrs. Ina Bullis

GIBSONVILLE - Mrs. Ina Huffman Bullis, 79, of 1071 Bloomfield Road, died at 5:36 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 1997, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro after four and a half years of failing health, one week critical.

A native of Wilkes County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Artie James Bullis, and the daughter of Mr. E.M. Huffman and Mrs. Matilda Huffman, both deceased. She retired in 1993 from Elizabeth Meade Hosiery after 40 years and was a member of Trinity Worship Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. David (JoAnn) Hayes of Gibsonville; a son, Mr. Gene Bullis of North Wilkesboro; six sisters, Mrs. Vera Johnson, Mrs. Esther Gilreath and Mrs. Eula Foster, all of North Wilksboro, Mrs. Wyona Bullis and Mrs. Marge Bishop, both of Greensboro, and Mrs. Ve Foster of San Diego; a brother, Mr. E.M. Huffman Jr. of North Wilkesboro; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by the Dr. James Gardner. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham, from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening, and at other times at the home.

Mr. Hubert Faucette

CAMERON - Mr. Hubert Neal Faucette of 551 Lakeview Lane, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at his home after one year of failing health.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Doris Lester Faucette who died in 1989, and the son of Mr. George Faucette and Mrs. Ethel Faucette, both deceased. He was retired from Kelly Springfield in Fayetteville.

Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Joanne Mozingo of Cameron; four sons, 1st Sgt. Thomas W. Faucette (retired) of Raeford, Mr. Larry Keith Faucette and Mr. Steve Henry Faucette, both of Burlington, Mr. David Neal Faucette of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Mr. Don Faucette and Mr. Holt Faucette, both of Burlington; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington with burial in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Burlington from 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home of Mrs. Paul Faucette, 2010 S. Ashland Drive, Burlington.

Mrs. Kathleen Shepherd

GIBSONVILLE - Mrs. Kathleen I. Shepherd, 79, of 700 Springwood Ave. died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 1997, at her home after a critical illness of two months.

A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of Mr. Frank Shepherd, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Dan Mebane Ingle and Mrs. Ella Shepherd Ingle, both deceased. She formerly worked with Liberty Hosiery Mills and Burlington Industries. She was a member of Springwood Presbyterian Church.

Survivors other than her husband of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Lyndia S. Kleeberg of Gibsonville; a sister, Mrs. Frances I. Anderson of McLeansville; a brother, Mr. Vance Ingle of Whitsett; and a grandchild.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Holt, Mrs. Ruth Moser, Mrs. Estelle Troxler and Mrs. Lucille Isley; and five brothers, Mr. Lee Ingle, Mr. C.B. Ingle, Mr. D.M. Ingle, Mr. Woodrow Ingle and Mr. Jake Ingle.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Springwood Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jonathan Freeman, pastor. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening.
