Mr. Richard F. Harris

MEBANE - Mr. Richard Frank Harris, 56, of 2511 N.C. 70 West, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at UNC Medical Hospital after a critical illness of four days.

A native of Person County, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Gladys P. Harris and the son of Mr. James H. Harris, who survives, and the late Mrs. Erma J. Harris. He was a maintenance technician and a member of Hester's Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of the Alamance County Sick Committee and the Non-Denominational Pray Band.

Survivors other than his father of Burlington include two daughters, Ms. Stella Mae Harris and Ms. Tandra Renee Harris, both of the home; six sisters, Ms. Marie Harris of Mebane, and Mrs. Linda Richmond, Mrs. Shirley Poteat, Mrs. Faye King, Ms. Mary Harris and Ms. Jeanice Harris, all of Burlington; four brothers, Mr. James E. Harris, Mr. Clyde Harris and Mr. Dallas Harris, all of Burlington, and Mr. Earlie G. Harris of Brooklyn, N.Y.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hester's Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Joe Clayton Jr., pastor, and the Rev. Harold Carr. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at New Covenant Holy Church in Burlington from 7 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home.

Burrus & Burrus Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Furman L. Moore

MEBANE - Mr. Furman Lee Moore, 85, of 615 N. Third St., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at his home.

A native of Travelers Rest, S.C., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Lucille Wynn Moore and the son of Mr. William Moore and Mrs. Mary Moore, both deceased. He served in the 1st Division Big Red One 1st Calvary from 1941-45.

He was educated to the sixth grade, was retired from Cone Mill in Mebane, and was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Linda Buckhalter and Mrs. Diane Dickerson, both of Mebane; four sons, Mr. James Moore of Hurst, Texas, Mr. Thurman Moore, Mr. Johnny Moore and Mr. Donald Moore, all of Mebane; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Lily Evans, Mrs. Bertha Smith and Mrs. Ella Deaton; and four brothers, Mr. Walter Moore, Mr. Cecil Moore, Mr. Sherman Moore, and Mr. A.D. Moore.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Fredrick Bunts. Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery.

The family will be at Walker Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home of a son, Mr. Johnny Moore, 6502 Fox Trailer Road, Mebane.

Mrs. Lessie Rainey

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Lessie Davis Rainey, 95, of McCray Comfort Inn, died at 12:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after two weeks of illness.

A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Edward Virgil Rainey and the daughter of Mr. Albert Eugene Davis and Mrs. Leona Shelley Davis, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of Kerr's Chapel Baptist Church, Womans Missionary Union of the Church, and the Caswell County Home Demonstration Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Mr. B.C. (Mildred) Hester of Burlington; one son, Mr. Howard E. (Buddy) Rainey of Southern Pines; two sisters, Mrs Elsie Little and Mrs. Margaret Martin, both of Greensboro; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Hazel Rainey, and three brothers, Mr. Robert E. Davis, Mr. Earl Davis, and Mr. Charlie Davis.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kerr's Chapel Baptist

Church by the Rev. Morton Kurtz, pastor of the Piedmont Presbyterian Church.

The body will be at Lowe Funeral Home until 30 minutes before the service.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 this evening and at other times at the home of the daughter, 2134 Martin St., Burlington.

Mrs. Mable Siler

SILER CITY - Mrs. Mable Langley Siler, 77, of 1019 N. Garden Ave., died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1997, at Country Forest Manor.

A native of Chatham County, she was the husband of the late Mr. William Lester Siler. She was retired from Hadley-Peoples Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she belonged to the Senior Adult Bible Class.

Survivors include one son, Mr. William (Tony) Siler of Gibsonville; two sisters, Ms. Selma L. Murray of Siler City and Ms. Pauline L. Vickory of Ramseur; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ms. Anita Boone.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Garry Yeatts. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening and at other times at the home.

Miss Christine Turner

ELON COLLEGE - Miss Christine Turner, 65, of 3057 Sawmill Road, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at White Oak Manor in Burlington after an illness of several weeks.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Mr. Virgil R. Turner and Mrs. Katie Slade Turner, both deceased. She was a member of the Clover Garden AME Church and former pianist of the Chancel Choir.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Betty T. Lea of Altamahaw and Mrs. Bernice T. Wooten of LaGrange, Ga.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William C. Turner.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Clover Garden AME Church by the Rev. R.L. Goode, pastor. The body will remain at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home until one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Thomas W. Watson

BURLINGTON - Mr. Thomas W. Watson, 85, of 409 Queen St., died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after four weeks of critical illness.

A native of Alamance County, he was the wife of the late Mrs. Beulah Carden Watson and the son of Mr. James Robert Watson and Mrs. Elizabeth Pennington Watson, both deceased. He was an employee of Copland Fabrics and a member of Trinity Worship Center.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Barbara W. Price of New Bern, Mrs. Jean W. Workman of Burlington, and Mrs. Ruth W. Martin of Snow Camp; two sisters, Mrs. Carmen Brooks of Burlington and Mrs. Laura Mayton of Graham; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Esther Sue Hilliard; one sister; and three brothers.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Worship Center by the Rev. Darrell E. Cox. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at Rich & Thompson Mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at other times at the home.

Mrs. Nannie J. Albright

BURLINGTON - Mrs. Nannie James Albright, 70, of 2738 Green Level Loop Road died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at her home after a sudden illness.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. James Albright, and the daughter of Mr. Jasper James and Mrs. Rosanna Sartin James, both deceased.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Dorothy James Lee of Burlington; two brothers, the Rev. Walter James and Mr. Weldon James, both of Burlington; and two grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Hargett and Bryant Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Patrick Cheston. Burial will be in Green Level United Church of Christ cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home 30 minutes before the service, and at other times at the home.

Mr. William Dixon Sr.

GRAHAM - Mr. William Franklin Dixon Sr., 76, of 5826 Rumley Road, died at 6:55 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at Presbyterian Home of Hawfields after two years of failing health, one month critical.

A native of Hoke County, he was the husband of 53 year of Mrs. Naomi Johnson Dixon, who survivors, and the son of Mr. Theodore Bromley Dixon and Mrs. Julia Strayhorn Dixon, both deceased. He was a retired courier for the State of North Carolina. He was a member of Saxapahaw United Methodist Church.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Dixon Capps of Burlington; three sons, Mr. William Franklin Dixon Jr. of Burlington, Mr. Stephen Wayne Dixon of Newark, Del., and Mr. Terry Millard Dixon of Saxapahaw; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Rowland of Durham, Mrs. Nannie McBane of Eli Whitney and Mrs. Margaret Crutchfield of Albermarle; three brothers, Mr. Theodore 'Booty' Dixon of Sumter, S.C., Mr. Howard Hoover Dixon of Saxapahaw and Mr. George Edward Dixon of Palm Springs, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Saxapahaw United Methodist Church by the Rev. Rachel Moser. Burial will be in Moores Chapel Cemetery.

The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham for 7 to 9 this evening, and at other times at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Sharon Dixon Capps, 2522 Chaucer Court, Burlington.

Memorials may be made to Saxapahaw United Methodist Church, 5624 Church Road, Graham, N.C. 27253.

Mr. Coy E. Pike Jr.

SNOW CAMP - Mr. Coy E. 'Junior' Pike Jr., 62 of 4135 Spanish Oak Hill Road, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Randolph County, he was the husband of Mrs. Ruth Poe Pike, who survives. He was a retired employee of UltraCraft in Liberty and attended Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Loretta Dorman Bridges of Burlington; and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Bowman and Miss Jessie Pike, both of Liberty, and Mrs. Peggy Huffine of Florida.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Pamela Diane Pike.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Zion Baptist Church by the Rev. Joe Hicks. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home from 7 to 9 this evening, and to other times at the home of the stepdaughter, Mrs. Loretta Bridges, 723 Maryland Ave., Burlington.

Mr. Richard F. Harris

MEBANE - Mr. Richard Frank Harris, 56, of 2511 U.S. 70 East, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

The family will be at the home.

Burrus and Burrus Funeral Services Inc. in Graham is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

Addie S. Parrott

BURLINGTON - Addie Renee Simmons Parrott, infant daughter of Ms. Lisa Dawn Parrott of 271 Jim King Road, Caswell County, died at 6:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Alamance County.

Survivors other than her mother include maternal grandparents, Mr. Robert O. Parrott Jr. and Mrs. Merry Aldridge Parrott of the home; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. Charlie Rufus and Mrs. Pauline Simmons Aldridge of Yanceyville.

She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Mr. Oylen and Mrs. Addie Barker Parrott.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints cemetery by Bishop Vernon Massengill and Elder Lindsey Page, both of the church.The family will be at the church following the service, and at other times at the home.
