KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Sara Nell Hord Fulton, 91, of 102 S. Gaston St., died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.
The funeral will be Wednesday at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Olin Byrum officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home.

Hazel Smith
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Hazel Wright Smith, 86, of 120 Cloninger St., died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.
The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, with the Revs. David Philbeck, Tom Patterson, and Mike Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home and at other times at the home of a daughter, Alberta Moore, 313 Pinehurst Drive, Kings Mountain.

Annie Rhyne
LINCOLNTON - Mrs. Annie Mabel Wilson Rhyne, 86, of 1125 Buffalo Shoals Road, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Lincoln Medical Center.
The funeral is Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Poplar Springs A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. Karen Roberts-Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the home of a niece, Ruth Pearson, 1208 Buffalo Shoals Road, Lincolnton.
Ebony and White's Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

CHERRYVILLE - Mr. Walter Foster, 58, of 206 J.C. Dellinger Road, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Ebony and White's Funeral Home.

LINCOLNTON - Mrs. Thelma Marie Alexander Preston, 56, of 313 Jennings St., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

Jimmie McCraw
BLACKSBURG, S.C. - Mrs. Jimmie Smith McCraw, 82, of 385 Gibbons Road, Blacksburg, S.C., died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at her home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Paran Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ron Gaddy and Darrell Revels officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at White Columns Funeral Home in Blacksburg and other times at the home.

Alice Clinton
SHELBY - Mrs. Alice Grice Clinton, 59, of 1400 Frederick St., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Craven County, she was the daughter of Mary Boone Jarmond and the late William Jarmond. She retired as a medical secretary from United Hospital Medical Center after 15 years of service. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Newark, N.J., and of Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Shelby.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Paul Clinton of the home; a son, William Jarmond of East Orange, N.J.; and a sister, Annie J. Jarmond of Irving, N.J.
A memorial service will be held tonight from 7 to 8 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby, with the Rev. S.A. Raper officiating.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Newark, N.J., with the Rev. Westly Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Newark, N.J.
The family will receive friends tonight at the memorial service.

Sarah Crockett
BUFFALO, N.Y. - Mrs. Sarah Cross Crockett, 95, formerly of Kings Mountain, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, in Buffalo.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by J.W. Gill & Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ray Cornwell
SHELBY - Mrs. Ray Cornwell, 93, of 212 S. Thompson Street, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Crawley Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Alpha White Green. She was a retired supervisor with Southern Bell with more than 40 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelby, the Pioneer Workers of America and the Communications Workers of America.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Cornwell of the home, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel, with Drs. Robert Canoy and Christopher White officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Cleveland Funeral Services and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 120 N. Lafayette St., Shelby, N.C. 28150.

Michael "Mike" McSwain
SHELBY - Mr. Michael Lee "Mike" McSwain, 51, of 1194 Scenic Drive, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Coren and Elsie Eddins McSwain of Shelby. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Bruce McSwain of Shelby, and three sisters, Catherine Derikart of Florence, S.C., Rachel Fink of Matthews and Martha Smith of Fayetteville, Ark.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, with the Revs. David Blanton, Irvin Price and Phate McSwain officiating. Burial will follow at Mulls Memorial Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
Lutz-Austell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Knalda "Nan" Wright
SHELBY - Mrs. Knalda Lethia "Nan" McCurry Wright, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late James Adam Clayton and Mammie Rippy McCurry. She was retired from Jack's Quick Stop and was a member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lee Wright; two brothers, Bill McCurry and Charles McCurry; and two sisters, Grace Condrey and Imogene Conner.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James Lee and Shirley Wright and Donald Wayne and Jane Wright, all of Shelby, and Jerry and Ruth Wright of Cerritos, Calif.; two daughters, Toyce Morrison and Nanette Whitehouse, both of Shelby; one sister, Gladys Dixon of Shelby; five grandchildren, including one granddaughter, Kqisha Whitehouse, of the home; six great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Jackie Gilliam of Shelby.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Putnam Memorial Baptist Church, with the Revs. Mark Canipe and Bryan Glisson officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Lutz-Austell Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Putnam Memorial Baptist Church, 1146 County Home Road, Shelby, N.C. 28152.

Jack Kennedy
SHELBY - Mr. Jack Eulas Kennedy, 72, of 1033 Sam Lattimore Road, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Esley Carl Kennedy and Vertie Hollifield Johnson. He was retired from Chase Brass, where he was a security guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Joe N. Kennedy, and one son, Jack E. Kennedy Jr.
He is survived by two sons, Jackie Kennedy and Kenneth Kennedy, both of Galax, Va.; four daughters, Patricia Kennedy of Van Nuys, Calif., Heidi Edmonds and Charlotte Fergson of Charlotte and Lisa Kennedy of Galax; three sisters, Brenda Humphries and Delores Philbeck, both of Shelby, and Peggy Matthews of Belvedere, S.C.; one special daughter-in-law, Ella Kennedy of Galax; and ten grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Cagle officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today one hour before the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Brenda Humphries, 3702 Delta Drive, Forest Ridge, Shelby.

Wilbur Bridges
LAWNDALE - Mr. Wilbur Ray Bridges, 70, of 2834 Toney Road, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Century Care of Shelby.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Carl and Lula Mae Spangler Bridges. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
He is survived by a son, Michael Bridges of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Melissa Gettys of Ellenboro; one brother, Christopher Bridges of Temple, Texas; two sisters, Doris Curtis of Shelby and Irene Walker of Rutherfordton; five grandchildren, Bradley Bridges, Alaina Bridges and Amy Gettys, Jason Gettys and Matthew Gettys; and several nephews and nieces.
A private funeral service will be held Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Robert Canoy officiating.

Winnie Johnson
SHELBY - Mrs. Winnie Virginia Johnson, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000 at Century Care Nursing Home.
The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Light Oak Baptist Church, with the Rev. W.D. Wray officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawns.
The family will receive friend one half hour before the service at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Roberts Scott, at 428 Suttle St., Shelby.
Genesis Funeral Services is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Doris Gibson
SHELBY - Mrs. Doris Rigler Gibson, 78, of 1425 E. Marion Street, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends at the home of Steve Gibson at 1243 Boyd Court, Shelby.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.

Richard Frank
MERIDIAN, Conn. - Mr. Richard Frank, 74, of 1212 Sunset Drive East, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at the Rehab and Nursing Center in Monroe.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Lutz-Austell Funeral Home.

The Rev. Rochelle Ingle
SHELBY - The Rev. Rochelle Ray Ingle, 81, of 1306 Earl Road, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Joel Forrest and Minnie Ford Ingle. He was a retired Baptist minister. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, assistant chaplain at Cleveland Regional Medical Center and former chaplain of prison ministry of Kings Mountain Baptist Association. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, who served in World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beatrice Hamrick.
He is survived by his wife, Ollie Queen Ingle of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Russel and Kim Ingle of Sweetwater, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Dave Rising of Medina, Ohio, and Suzie and Doug Lager of Columbia, S.C.; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Roscoe Ingle and Bobby and Sandy Ingle of Shelby, Sonny and Effie Ingle of Miami and Ronnie and Laura Ingle of Columbia; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Hazel Wheelus of Shelby, Nell Bradley of Cleveland, Louise and Phil Parker of Prosperity, S.C., and Linda and Barry Schilling of Lexington, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, with the Revs. Len Byers and Scott Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 600 S. Dekalb St., Shelby, N.C. 28150.

Jerry Lewis "Fuzz" McCluney
SHELBY - Jerry Lewis "Fuzz" McCluney, 47, of 1268 Airport Road, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000.

Luvenia Lary
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Luvenia G. Lary, 71, of 256 Branchwood Circle, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
A native of Kings Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Willie Walker and Lottie Mae Alexander Gardner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lary, and a brother, Willie Gardner.
She was retired from Wix Dana Plant after 10 years of service.
She was survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Dora Ann Wilson, Joe Ann and John McCoy, Clamity and Tony Falls and Robin and James McGill, all of Kings Mountain; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lesee and Mae Katherine Gardner of Grover and James Lary of Kings Mountain; nine sisters and three brothers-in-law, Luella Stokes, Betty Bell, Yvonne and Hazel Parker, Flossie and Ralph Johnson, all of Kings Mountain, Ollie Feemster of Gastonia, Shirley and Randall Miller, Hazeline Leslie, Peggy Ann Leslie, and Shirley Leslie, all of Charlotte; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, David and Katherine Gardner and Thomas and Paulette Gardner, all of Kings Mountain; Eddie Gardner of Alexandria, Va., and Donald Leslie of Charlotte; 16 grandchildren, 33 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Vestibule A.M.E. Zion Church, with the Rev. Clarence Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

Elifus Wood
ASHEVILLE - Mr. Elifus Wood, 90, of 103 Woodrow Ave., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Asheville Hospital.
The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
