Archie Elton Knott Sr.

Archie Elton Knott, Sr., age 73, of Roxboro died Thursday, December, 22, 2011. Born in Person County he was the son of the late Cal and Nannie Mae Knott. He was also preceded in death by one sister Josie Lee Clayton. Mr. Knott had worked as an auto mechanic for many years. He was of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Ellen Holt Knott of Roxboro; three sons, Archie Elton Knott, Jr. and wife Gladys of Roanoke Rapids, Randall Wayne Knott and wife Tracie of Timberlake, and Daniel Lee Knott of Roxboro; one daughter, Joellen Knott of Roxboro; One brother, Harold Thomas Knott and wife Betsy of Roxboro; two sisters, Patsy Ann Knott of Roxboro, and Betty Jean Pemberton; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Albert T. Horner

Albert T. Horner, age 85, of Younger Rd. died Sunday, December 18, 2011. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late O. R. Horner and Inez Horton Horner. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Bowes, and his brother, Horton Horner. Mr. Horner had retired from the City of Roxboro Water Plant after a number of years of service. He was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Frances Walters Horner of the home; one son, Bobby Horner and wife Margie of Hurdle Mills; two sisters, Betty Horner Carver and husband Larry of Roxboro, and Patsy Horner Pleasant of Hurdle Mills; one brother, Brodie Horner of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Andy Horner, Brooke Chandler, Cristen Horner, Ashley Bowes, and Josh Bowes; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Alfred Rimmer. Burial will follow at Person Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Horner, Lance Chandler, Josh Bowes, Kelly Horner, Billy Horner, and Rusty Horner.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Wednesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son at 9390 Hurdle Mills Rd.
Paul Ervin Bowes

Paul Ervin Bowes, 69, of 1099 Morton Pulliam Rd., Roxboro, died Saturday, December 17, 2011. Born in Durham County, Mr. Bowes was the son of the late Edward and Sally Jane Briggs Bowes and husband of the late Mittie "Peggy" Westbrooks Bowes. Mr. Bowes retired from the City of Roxboro and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Bowes, Monroe Bowes, Bruce Bowes and Jerry Bowes, four sisters, Henrietta Tuck, Ava "Sis" West, Betty Walker, and Jerilene Bowes and one granddaughter, Heather Beth Bowes.
Mr. Bowes is survived by his children, Jessie Bowes and wife Nelda, Tommy Bowes and Johnny Bowes, all of Roxboro; three sisters, Peggy Clower, Nellie Bowes and Shirley Reaves; one grandchild, Austin Lynn Bowes; five step-grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Zach Williams, Caleb Donovan, Josh Ferguson, and Jessica Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Preacher Wayne Holland. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at any time at the home.
Pallbearers will be Mark Bowes, Charles Bowes, Shane Walker, James Reaves, Keith Clayton, and Samuel Westbrooks.

Nathan is survived by his parents, William Scott Bell and Tonya Renee Wheeley; his brother, William Scott Bell, Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Dale Hedden and husband Brentley and Tony Wheeley and wife Laura; his paternal grandparents, Robert Bell, III and Peggy Bell; and his maternal great-grandparents, David and Marcia Wheeley.

Jessica Maria Walker

Jessica Maria Walker, 18, of 246 Chandler Rd., Blanch, died Monday, December 12, 2011. Born in Person County, Miss Walker was the daughter of Donnie Walker, of Sutherlin, VA and Rosa Pressley, of Blanch. Miss Walker as a student and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Walker.
In addition to her parents, Miss Walker is survived by her brother, Daniel Walker, of the home; two sisters, Crystal Walker, of the home and Harley Walker, of Sutherlin, VA; her maternal grandparents, John and Mary Pressley, of Semora; her paternal grandparents, Angela Walker, of Burlington and William Walker, of Yanceyville; her great-grandparent, Esther Walker.
Memorial services will be held 6 PM, Tuesday, at Victory Baptist Church in Sutherlin, VA by the Rev. Chad Branch. Visitation will be held 6-7:30 PM, Monday, at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.

Mary Shouff Barnwell

Died: 12/10/2011 and resided in Prospect Hill, North Carollina
Mary Kathleen Shouff Barnwell age 70 formerly of Prospect Hill died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Brian Center in Yanceyville. She was born in Patrick County Virginia. Mrs. Barnwell was daughter of the late Ross and Hattie Mae Clark Shouff. She was wife of the late James Harvey Barnwell, Sr.
Surviving are her two sons, David Barnwell and James Harvey Barnwell, Jr. both of Prospect Hill; one brother, Reid Shouff formerly of Leasburg, and one sister, Jean Rudder of Hurdle Mills; and three grandchildren.
The graveside service will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery in Prospect Hill. The Rev. Allen Bottoms will be officiating.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son James Harvey Barnwell, Jr., 4122 Ridgeville Road, Prospect Hill.
