Lance M. Miller

Lance M. Miller, 22, Dickinson, ND died as the result of injuries sustained in a car accident near Tioga, ND. Lance’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A.M., Friday, September 8, 2006 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. to 9 P.M., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil at 7 P.M.. Arrangements are with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Anna Martha Bragg

Anna Martha Bragg, 99, a resident of the Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home in Williston, died at the Home on Wednesday, November 22, 2006.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church. Rev. Morris Kirchhof will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery, Corinth, North Dakota. A family service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at the Funeral Home.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 AM until Noon at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Williston.

Twyla (Boe) Olson

Her soul has transcended. Twyla (Boe) Olson, a beautiful person, loving mother, wife and friend passed away on November 15, 2006. She was 47 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 19, 2006 at Ray Lutheran Church. Rev. Steve Anderson will officiate, and interment will follow at United Cemetery in Tioga.

Twyla was born in Williston, ND on June 1, 1959 to Christian and Rosemary (Froelich) Boe. She attended school in Ray, North Dakota and graduated in 1977.

Twyla was involved in many activities while attending school in Ray. She was selected to sing in the Tri-State Concert, she participated in Girls State, was on the pompon squad and was selected candidate for homecoming queen. After high school, she continued her education in Bismarck where she was working to attain her cosmetology license. In 1978 she met Mike Hoff at a close friend’s wedding in Steele where she was the vocalist. They married in October of the next year in Bismarck, North Dakota, and later gave birth to their two beautiful children, (Brandy) ReAya Michale and Derek Hoff. Twyla and Mike were married for 9 years.

After which Twyla began her own personal journey of soul searching which led her to Marvin Olson in 1996. Twyla and Marvin were married August 22, 1999 and they made their home in West Fargo, North Dakota. In October 2004, they moved to Tioga, ND and made their home in the original homestead of Twyla’s grandparents.

Twyla was a woman who was definitely social by nature. Her blossoming creativity led her to certain areas of crafts such as painting, crocheting and eclectic beadwork. She also loved shopping and always finding "the bargain". She especially loved to shop for shoes; every shopping trip always included a trip to the clearance shoe rack!

Hair styling was definitely Twyla’s forte. She has worked at numerous salons and gained outstanding rapport from her clientele. Her warm personality had the feeling of the sun.

Twyla is survived by her husband, Marvin Olson of Tioga, her brother Emery (Carrie) Tioga, her sister Bonnie (Terry) Walhaug Williston and her two children, (Brandy) ReAya Michale Phoenix, AZ, Derek Hoff of Williston and their father, Mike Hoff of Dickinson, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Rosemary and one brother Marty.

Twyla will be remembered by all. Her charisma is admired and her hearts intent will be savored and carried on.

Ruth Allen

Ruth Evangeline Allen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 6 at the home of her daughter from acute leukemia.

Ruth was born in Hayland Township, Divide County, north of Wildrose, ND, to Dudley A. Williamson and Hulda I. Perschau Williamson.

She married Lowell G. Allen on March 18, 1953. They farmed in the Ray, ND area until moving to Philomath, OR in 1968.

She is survived by her husband; daughter and son-in-law Laurel and Tracy Smouse of Philomath; step-daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Bruce Klepp of Miami, FL and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, four brothers and three sisters.

Private family graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, at Oak Law Memorial Park in Corvallis, OR.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Benton Hospice Service, who with their compassionate care her passing was peaceful, c/o McHenry Funeral Home, 206 NW Fifth St., Corvallis OR 97330.

Carrol Curlett

Carrol Curlett, 62, of China Spring, Texas began life in her eternal home on Monday, April 16, 2007. Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2007 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel in Waco, Texas with the Rev. Michael Copeland officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be an hour before service time.

Carrol Mae Fish was born the daughter of Barton Ladeu and Margaret Bereniece Fry Fish on August 23, 1944 in Ogden, Utah. She married her soul mate, Bill Curlett on April 14, 1967 in Minot, ND.

Preceding Carrol in death were her father; brother, Randy Jo Fish; niece, Danielle Vedner; father-in-law, William Curlett, Sr.; and mother-in-law, Edith Curlett.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Bill Curlett, II of China Spring; mother, Bereniece Fish of Tioga, ND; sons, Michael Curlett and wife, Amy of Teague, TX and William Curlett, III and wife, Susan of Sykesville, MD; daughter, Cindy Miller and husband, Casey of China Spring; brother, Dale Fish and wife, Carol of Noonan, ND; sister, Donna Golley of Tioga, ND; sister-in-law, Barbara Klingman and husband, Elliot of Chester, MD; grandchildren, Chad Curlett, Katie Mae Miller, Elizabeth Miller, David Miller, Jr., Christian Curlett, William Curlett, IV and Makayla Curlett.

Evelyn Jesson

March 25, 1923-Sept. 25, 2006

Evelyn Jesson, 83, Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Minot, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2006, in a Dayton hospital.

Evelyn Pounds was born March 25, 1923, in Ross, to Henry and Alice (Walker) Pounds. She was raised and educated in Ross, where she graduated from high school.

Evelyn was united in marriage to William “Bill” Jesson on May 11, 1940, in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where she was employed as a cook for many years at the Riverside Sheraton Hotel, now known as Riverside Holiday Inn, until her retirement in the mid-1980s.

Following her retirement, she remained active for many years in the community through volunteering at the Salvation Army, Green Thumb, and at the YMCA in the daycare. In 2003, she moved to Dayton to be nearer her family and remained there until her death.

Evelyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Minot. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with everyone at the senior center, which usually and most definitely included a cup of coffee. She will be missed by all who shared in her life.

She is survived by: daughter, Sharon Martin, Dayton; son, Earl Jesson; and numerous grandchildren, including Steve (Barb) Paige, Dayton; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Ellen Paige; son, William “Sonny” Jesson; sisters, Emma George and Edna; and brothers, Robert, Clyde, Everett and Earl Pounds.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

There will be no reviewal, however, family and friends are invited to sign a memorial register book on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home of Minot.

Earl Rodenhizer

Jan. 14, 1922-Oct. 5, 2006

Earl C. Rodenhizer, 84, Salt Lake City, UT, formerly of the Powers Lake, ND, area, passed away October 5, 2006 from a lingering illness at his home.

Like his father, he was a kind and generous person who enjoyed helping others. Earl spent 25 years in the U.S. Army serving in England, France, Germany, Japan, Korea and Panama. He retired from the Federal Reserve Bank in Salt Lake City after 18 years in security.

He was born in Powers Lake, ND, January 14, 1922.

Earl is survived by his wife, Vivian; son, Robert; daughter, Joan Kuhach; one grandchild, Robert Kuhach (Monica); his brother, Bruce Rodenhizer (LaVelda) of Stanley and his sister, Shirley Thompson (John), Springfield, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Ellis Rodenhizer; sister, Lucille Slotsve (Ottis); brother, Wilbert Rodenhizer; and his son-in-law, Kenneth Kuhach.

Burial will be in North Dakota at a later date. (Springan Funeral Home, Stanley)
