Parrish - Virginia M., 92, Kearney, formerly Amherst and Lincoln, died Tuesday (12/25/2001). Born, Buffalo County. Retired teacher.
Survivors: brother, Dale Parrish, Kearney; sister, Arlene Kahle, Kearney.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary, Kearney. Kearney Cemetery. Visitation: 4-8:30 p.m. today and before services, all at mortuary. Memorials to Buffalo County Historical Society's Trails and Rails Museum.

Pennington - Hulda Siemers Blevins, 91, Grand Island, formerly of Ainsworth, Salt Lake City, died Tuesday (12/25/2001) in Lincoln. Born, Chapman (1/5/1910), the third child born to John and Louise (Mueller) Siemers, who preceded her in death, as did two brothers, Louie and Harry, and her sister, Anne. Married Ralph Blevins in 1931. To this marriage was born one son, Larry Blevins. Ralph preceded her in death in 1944. Hulda and Larry moved to Grand Island, where she was employed as a telephone operator, until she married Stan Pennington, who had four sons: Bob, Ed, Jim and David. They lived in Grand Island until 1949, when they moved to Ainsworth, where Stan worked harvesting bluegrass seed. In 1966 they moved to Salt Lake City, where they had a sod farm for nine years. They retired and moved back to Ainsworth in the fall of 1974, where they lived for several years. Stan passed away in Lincoln (9/7/1990), at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 12 days. Hulda remained in Ainsworth until September 1995, when she moved to Grand Island to the Riverside Lodge, where she lived until shortly before her death. Member: Presbyterian Church, Grand Island; OES and Does, both of Ainsworth.
Survivors: son, Larry; stepsons, Jim and Dave; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, Don; nieces, nephews.

Phillips - Maude H., 94, Lincoln, died 12/19/01. Born, Omaha (9/19/1907) to Burton Elliot and Ethel Anna (Honey) Wilcox. Homemaker. Member, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Lincoln Symphony Guild. 1930 graduate, University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Married on Sept. 25, 1965, to Charles W. Phillips, who passed away in 1999.
Survivors: stepdaughter, spouse, Sue and Harry Wendland, Lake Oswego, Ore.; stepgrandsons, spouses, John and Lisa Wendland, Los Altos, Calif., Robert and Kathleen Wendland, Shawnee Mission, Kan.; five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Vincent - Walter G., 99, Waverly, died Wednesday (12/26/2001). Born, Washington County, Kan. (3/3/1902), the fifth child of James and Melinda Jane "Jennie" (Pruitt) Vincent. Retired laborer. Member, Alvo United Methodist Church. Attended Elmwood Christian Church. Served on town and church boards. Walt and Bessie received the Ak-Sar-Ben Good Neighbor Award in 1974 for their community service.
Survivors: son, daughter-in-law, James and Dolores, Lakewood, Colo.; daughter, son-in-law, Carolyn and Lloyd Nelson, Eagle; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; friends. Preceded in death by wife, Bessie Viola Daigh; parents; sisters, Ella Zeman of Chadron, Ruth Taylor of Lincoln, and an infant sister, Mabel; infant brother, Irvin; half-brothers, Wilmet and Oliver Vincent; half-sisters, Dora Skipton, Nora Langdon.

Yaley - Roy O., 74, Sioux City, Iowa, died unexpectedly Monday (12/24/2001). He was the son of Roy O. and Lore (Hill) Yaley and was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Scottsbluff. He grew up in Gering and attended schools there. He graduated from Gering High School in 1944. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He married Catherine Elliott on Nov. 23, 1950, in Scottsbluff. He was a vice president and director of the Gering National Bank from 1952 to 1966. He was vice president of the National Bank of Commerce in Lincoln from 1966 to 1971. In 1971 he became president and director at the Nebraska State Bank in South Sioux City, and later at the Wakefield National Bank in Wakefield and the Iowa State Bank in Onawa, Iowa. He retired in 1993. He was serving as a director of the Iowa-Nebraska State Bank in South Sioux City. He was past president of the Nebraska Independent Bankers Association. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City and had served on the board of trustees of the church. He was past president of the South Sioux City Chamber of Commerce. He was past president of the Dakota County Industrial Development Corp. He was treasurer of the residents council of North Park Senior Living Community. He was past president of the Sioux City Country Club. He was past president of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln Alumni Association and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Alumni Association in 1990. He was a University of Nebraska Foundation trustee. He was a member of the Scottsbluff Masonic Lodge No. 201, A.F. & A.M. in Gering. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine during World War II.
Survivors: his wife, Catherine Yaley of Sioux City; two daughters, Linda Bowden and her husband, Ron, of Sioux City, Debra Yaley of Dallas; one brother, Tom Yaley and his wife, Luella, of Denver; two granddaughters, Becky and Sarah Jane Bowden. Preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy, and his parents.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, First Presbyterian Church, Sioux City. The Rev. Donald Cameron, pastor. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7-9 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Memorials to First Presbyterian Church, Sioux City or the University of Nebraska Alumni Association Scholarship fund.

Allen - Elsie Adrian "Edye," 62, Wilber, died 12/18/01.
Survived by faithful companions Daisy, Winston, Lily; family and friends.
