Twila Ober, 66
Services for Twila Ober were held Monday, Sept. 17, 2007 at Christ Memorial United Methodist Church in Bloomfield with Pastor Tim Pratt officiating and interment at the Bloomfield City Cemetery.
Bearers were Kelly Ickler, Boyd Ober, Joel Suhr, Clark Jenkinson, Colby Suhr, Tim Gustman and Jody Piland.Honorary bearers included Chelsy Kathol, Zack Mertens, Joel Stenberg, Eric Doerr, Greg Kuhlman, David Huigens, Percy Brandl, Ray Oltjenbruns, Garry Young and Clayton Anderson.Organist Deb Hoffman led the congregational hymn “Hymn of Promise” and soloist Duane Christiansen sang “On Eagles Wings.” Special music also included “I Will Be Here.
”Twila Ann Ober was born on September 27, 1940 in Plainview to Vernard and Vera (Petersen) Young and died Thursday, Sept. 13 at her home.She graduated from Plainview High School and on November 27, 1957 she was married to Douglas Ober at the Crawford Valley United Methodist Church.
Two children were born to this union, Denise Ann and Mary Beth.
The couple farmed east of Creighton and enjoyed spending their winters in Florida.
Twila was a member of the United Methodist Church and was also a member of a Knox County Extension Club.
Ober actively attended her grandchildren’s sporting events and enjoyed antiquing and spending time with family and friends.
Ober was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law, Lloyd Ober.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Ann and Louis Herbert of Winnetoon and Mary Beth and Rick Sterkel of Creighton; five grandchildren, Jason, Stephanie, and Nicole Herbert and Jennifer and Melissa Sterkel; one great grandchild, Rylee Ann Herbert; a brother, Eugene Young and wife, Barbara; one sister, Sherry Gustman and her husband, Mike, all of Plainview and her mother-in-law, Ruth Ober.

Hannah Hardisty, 2 months
Funeral services for Hannah Mae Hardisty, two-month-old daughter of Adam and Heather Hardisty of Norfolk, will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Home for Funerals in Norfolk and burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Hannah died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa.
Hannah is survived by her parents and sister, Haley Mae Hardisty, all of Norfolk; her maternal grandparents, Douglas and Tammy Kuper of Hoskins and Peggy and Mark Van Asselt of Colton, S.D.; her paternal grandparents, Sterling and Joan Hardisty of Athol, Kan.; her great-grandparents, Edna Hardisty of Plainview, Myron and Ruth Kuper of Lennox, S.D., Harry and Verna Schlote of Plainview and Theresa Collins of Sioux Falls, S.D. and her step-great-grandparents Willie and Romana Van Asselt of Colton S.D. and Lyla Gardner of Omaha.

Rhoda Myers, 86
Funeral Services for Rhoda Ida Clara Myers of Plainview were held Monday, April 14, 2008 at the United Methodist Church. Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery.Rev. Jim Loutzenhiser and Rev. John Kringle officiated.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Loutzenhiser, Matthew Loutzenhiser, Christopher Loutzenhiser, Daniel Loutzenhiser, Joel Loutzenhiser, Jon Loutzenhiser, Ryan Myers, Scott Myers and Brandon Myers.
Musical selections were “When I Get Where I’m Going” and “Beyond The Sunset” sung by Joel Loutzenhiser, “Whispering Hope” sung by Kristina Shires and Jimmy Loutzenhiser and “When the Roll is Called Up Yonder” sung by the congregation.
Myers was born June 29, 1921 at Stanton to Ferdinand and Clara (Burandt) Krutz and died on April 9, 2008 in O’Neill.
Myers’ family moved to Inman in 1927. She graduated from Inman High School in 1940 and then went to the Jenny Edmundson School of Nursing in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
On October 19, 1945 Myers married Edwin Watson in Clearwater. Watson passed away shortly after.
Myers began nursing at Plainview Hospital where she met Wilber Myers of Plainview. They were married January 16, 1949 at the Plainview United Methodist Church. She lived all of her married life on the family farm northwest of Plainview. She loved working along side her husband on the family dairy farm.
She taught Sunday school, was a 4-H leader and belonged to the Better Homes Extension Club. Myers enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She especially enjoyed canning, picking asparagus, serving and quilting.
She made quilts for all her children and grandchildren.
Myers greatly loved to bake, sharing her special cookies with her family and anyone else with whom she came in contact.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and gave freely and lovingly to all.Myers was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Edwin Watson and Wilber Myers; brothers Edward Fick, George Fick, Walt Fick and Ferdinand Krutz; sister, Beulah Puglia and grandson Michael Jon Myers.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Loutzenhiser and her husband, Jim, and Jeanine Loutzenhiser and her husband, Joel, all of O’Neill; one son, Robert Myers and his wife, Ellie, of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Viola Fallesen and her husband, Melvin, of Albany, Ore. and sisters-in-law, Delores Fick of O’Neill and Minnie Fick of Belle Vista, Ark.

Melvin Carlson, 82
Memorial services for Melvin Carlson of Plainview were held Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Zion Lutheran Church. Carlson was laid to rest in Pleasant View Cemetery. Rev. Jonathan Meraz officiated.
Pallbearers were Chad Lingenfelter, Nick Lingenfelter, Jim Weber, Dan Schmit, Ed Brummels and Stephen Casselman.
Honorary pallbearers were Cindy Lingenfelter, ReBecca Lingenfelter, Dylan Lingenfelter, Emily Lingenfelter and Peyton Lingenfelter.
The prelude music selection was “Old Rugged Cross.” Congregation hymns were “Just As I Am” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus.” Jeannie Oltjenbruns served as organist.
Military rites were conducted by the Creighton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1151 and members of the Nebraska Honor Guard.
Carlson was born to Ernest Eugene and Signe Marie (Nelson) Carlson in rural Creighton on Feb. 8, 1926. He passed away Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Faith Regional Health System in Norfolk. He was 82 years old.
Carlson attended District 33 school in Antelope Co. and Plainview Public School, graduating at age 16, in 1942. On April 18, 1944, at age 18, he was drafted into the U.S. Army for service during World War II in Germany and France. After being wounded twice, he received the Purple Heart with Second Award and the Oak Leaf Cluster. Carlson was hospitalized for many months in Germany and numerous locations across the U.S. before returning home to Nebraska to further recover. After his discharge, he became a dispatcher for the Nebraska Highway Patrol in 1948. It was during this time he met and married Gertrude Zobel, who would be his wife for 58 years. They were married on September 7, 1949 at a private ceremony in Vermillion, S.D. They had three daughters, Ann, Sandra and Lori. He was baptized and confirmed on June 18, 1950 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Norfolk by Rev. Daniel Gimble. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview. After resigning from the Highway Patrol in 1957, he moved his wife and family to their current farm north of Plainview.
Carlson enjoyed farming and raising cattle for many years, being especially fond of stock cattle, calves and other small animals. He was a seed corn dealer and was awarded several trips to places including Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, New York and a cruise. He was also a board member on the Federal Land Bank for several years. Carlson’s other joys included hunting, fishing and being outdoors with his family. He was a lifetime member of Creighton VFW Post #1151 and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He continued farming until his health worsened a few years ago and he became a resident of the Norfolk Veterans Home. Carlson felt he was blessed with many special people as he served God in his vocations at home, church, work and in the community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Les.
Carlson is survived by his wife, Gertrude; daughters Ann, Sandra and Lori; grandsons Chad and his wife, Cindy, and Nick and his wife, ReBecca; a great-granddaughter, Emily; great-grandsons Dylan and Peyton; brother, Earl, and sister, Lucille Steckelberg; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Sandra Larsen
PLAINVIEW -- Services for Sandra Jean Larsen, 58, of Plainview, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Plainview.
She died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

Marcella Carrell
PIERCE -- Services for Marcella Carrel, 91, of Plainview, were held Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at the Stonacek Memorial Chapel in Pierce. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Plainview.

Harold Clapp
PLAINVIEW -- Services for Harold Clapp, 87, of Wausa Manor, formerly of Plainview, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2003 at Ashburn Funeral Home in Plainview with burial in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at the Wausa Manor.

Rose Schmit, 99
Services for Rose Schmit, 99, of Osmond will be held Saturday, November 3, 2007 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Osmond. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Osmond.
Visitation for Rose Schmit will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 2 at the Ashburn Funeral Home in Osmond.
She passed away October 29, 2007 at the St. Joseph Care Center in Norfolk.
Rosary will be recited at 7:30 on Friday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Everett G. Lingenfelter
Memorial services were held for Everett G. Lingenfelter of Omaha on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Home in Omaha.
Lingenfelter was born on October 30, 1917 and was a long-time resident of the Plainview area. He married Pearl Vossberg in 1939 and to that union were born two daughters, Karen and Sheila.
Lingenfelter served in the United States Army during World War II where he participated in the Battle of Luzon and the Philippine Liberation. He received the Philippine Liberation Service Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.
Lingenfelter returned to farm in the Plainview area after the war, and was a long-time member of the Crawford Valley United Methodist Church. He also served as the Master of the Plainview Masonic Lodge.
Later, he and Pearl moved into town where they established Keystone Bar.
After managing condominiums in the Okiboji area and serving as Motel 6 managers, the couple moved to Omaha where Everett was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Tangier Shrine and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Louise Lingenfelter and three brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Harry Fleming of Springfield, S.D.; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Sam Buck of Blue Springs, Mo. three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; nieces and nephews.

Estella May Pochop, 90
Memorial services were held for Estella May Pochop, 90, of Osmond on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2007.The service was held at 3 p.m. on October 27, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Osmond with Rev. Carol Jean Stapleton officiating.
Solos were sung by Bill Korth, including “Precious Lord Take My Hand,” and “Last Mile of the Way.” Charlotte Kiichler served as organist.
Bearers included Troy Pochop, Trent Pochop, John Waddell, Merlyn Kuhl, Leon Gunther and Robbie Block.Interment was at the Osmond City Cemetery in Osmond.
Pochop was born on May 12, 1917 in Osmond and died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007 in Osmond.

Wayne Lautenschlager, 87
Services for Wayne William Lautenschlager, 87, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Orchard with the Rev. Costa de Oliveria officiating.A solo was sung by Duane Christiansen titled “On Eagles Wings,” a congregational hymn was sung titled “Hymn of Promise,” and Shirley Erb served as organist.Bearers included Aaron Hoke, Rod Bergman, Pat Bergman, Tony Shrader, Todd Erb and Robert Johnston. Honorary bearers included his grandchildren.Interment was at the Orchard Hill Cemetery in Orchard.Lautenschlager was born on June 27, 1920 in Antelope County and died on Monday, Oct. 22 in Norfolk.

Audree Bahr, 81
Services for Audree Adair Bahr, 81, of Osmond were held on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Osmond with the Rev. Carol Jean Stapleton officiating.
Bahr was born on August 24, 1926 in Venus and died Wednesday, Oct. 24 in Osmond.
Solos sung by Duane Christiansen were, “Going Home” and “Mansion Over the Hilltop.”Taped music by Orville Bahr was also played, including “How Great Thou Art” and “Blessed Assurance.”Charlotte Kiichler served as organist.
Bearers included Jason Bahr, Justin Bahr, John McCann, James Wingert, Taylor Buchholz and Brett Bahr. Honorary bearers were Bahr’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Interment was at the Osmond City Cemetery in Osmond.

Dr. Paul D. Boschult, 75
Funeral services Dr. Paul D. Boschult, 75, of Omaha were held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 in Omaha at the Christ Community Church.
A visitation was held on Friday, Oct, 26, 2007 at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home in Omaha with the family receiving visitors from 6 – 8 p.m. Interment was in the Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha.
Boschult was born on May 15, 1932 to Charles and Lois Boschult in Meadow Grove and died Monday, Oct. 22 in Omaha.
Boschult graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Friends University in Witchita, Kan., in 1953 and then served in the United States Navy from 1953-1957. Following his time of service in the Navy he graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1961.Paul was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Association, an Honorary Medical Society.
For a number of years, Paul served as an Assistant Professor on the teaching staff of the NU College of Medicine and he was a member of the medical staff at Methodist Hospital for 20 years as a radiologist.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Boschult.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; children and spouses, Karen and Bruce VanSickle and Linda Boschult; his wife’s children and spouses, Pam and Nate Carter, Paul and Teresa Skodak, Shelly and Patrick Bocian, James Skodak and Steve and Sarah Skodak; grandchildren and spouses, Paul and Kristin; Mark and Katie Van Sickle, Nathan, Alecia, Jonathan, Christopher, Michael, Matthew, Laura, Jason and Emily; great-grandchildren, Emory and Cole; brother, Dr. Carl Boschult; sisters and spouses, Naomi and Benton Patzkowski and Eunice and Ralph Fennig; brother David and wife, Roxie, Boschult and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon’s International of Christ Community Church.

Dale Hilkemeier
CREIGHTON -- Services for Dale Hilkemeier, 77, of Creighton will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2003 at Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery at Creighton.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 10 at the Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton.
He died Monday, July 7, 2003 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton.

Barbara Mauck Way
LINCOLN -- Services for Barbara Mauck Way or Lincoln will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneer Blvd., in Lincoln.
She was the daughter of Harold and Tina Mauck of Plainview.

Margaret Goetzinger
PLAINVIEW -- Services for Margaret V. Goetzinger, 90, of Plainview, were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Plainview with burial in the parish cemetery.
She died Friday, July 4, 2003 at Plainview Area Health System.
