Helen Cosgrove
MORRIS PLAINS - Helen Frances Vail Cosgrove, 92, died Thursday at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hampton, she had lived in Morris Plains for the past 49 years.
Mrs. Cosgrove was a graduate of the Drake College of Business and worked as a bookkeeper for Acme Markets and M. Epstein in Morristown.
She was a member of the Morristown Historical Society, the Sussex County Historical Society and the Minisink Valley Historical Society.
Mrs. Cosgrove was a member of St. Virgil's Parish in Morris Plains and a founder and president of the Morris Plains Seniors.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward V. Cosgrove Jr.
Mrs. Cosgrove is survived by two sons, Edward V. and his wife, Ann, of Needham, Mass., and Michael and his wife, Rena, of Rockaway and one daughter, Jeane Ellen Allaire of Amherst, N.Y.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison.

Gerardus T. Hooftman
MILFORD, Pa. - Gerardus T. Hooftman, 82, died Thursday at Milford Senior Care, Milford, Pa.
The son of Peter and Margaret Vanderstam Hooftman, he was born in Boskoop, Holland on Nov. 7, 1922.
He was a retired service manager for Casler Motors in Pompton Lakes, N.J.
Mr. Hooftman is survived by his wife, Marianne S. Kluis; one daughter, Sophia Altvater of Milford; one son, Peter Hooftman of Norfolk, Va.; one brother, Jan Hooftman of Boskoop, Holland; one sister, Ennike Vogel of Emmen, Holland; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford.

Thomas Kehler
HARDYSTON - Thomas Kehler, 67, died Thursday at Newton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Butler Township, Pa., he had resided in Lodi for 20 years before moving to the Stockholm section of Hardyston in 1973.
Mr. Kehler worked for the former Morley Shirt Co. of Franklin and later retired from Edenwood Corp. of Whippany. Upon his retirement, Mr. Kehler worked at the Andover Nursing Home.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960. He was a member of the Stockholm United Methodist Church.
Mr. Kehler was predeceased by his parents, Laurence and Edith Kehler and a brother, Larry Kehler.
He is survived by his wife, Annabelle Van Duren Kehler; one son, William "Bil" of Stockholm; one daughter, Christa Walker of Franklin; one brother, Gary of Towanda, Pa., and one grandson.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin.

Cheryl A. Rooney
VIENNA, Va. - Cheryl A. Rooney, 46, died Tuesday at her home.
She was born in Newton, N.J. and moved to Vienna, Va. in 1990. She was a 1977 graduate of Kittatinny Regional High School and was a longtime employee of Newton ShopRite.
Mrs. Rooney graduated with a degree in anthropology with honors from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. in 1995. Prior to attending college, she supported her husband through Seton Hall University and the University of Virginia School of Law. Mrs. Rooney taught at Holy Comforter Episcopal Preschool for the last eight years.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, John J.; her parents, John and Fran Landgraff of Louisa, Va.; two sisters, Bonnie Barker of Mineral, Va. and Dorothy Batalin of Victoria, Texas; two brothers, John Landgraff III of Lee's Summit, Mo. and Roy Landgraff of Louisa; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Money and King Funeral Home, 171 E. Maple Ave., Vienna, Va.

Susan Wylot
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - Susan Wylot, 53, died Wednesday in South Carolina.
Born Dec. 13, 1951 in Bayone, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anne Uanis Wylot.
Ms. Wylot was a member of the Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Post 178 in Murrells Inlet and VFW Auxiliary, Post 8441 in Vernon, N.J.
She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Brown; one son, Joseph Kilbride of Murrells Inlet; one brother, Edward J. Wylot and his wife, Jill, of Virginia; and one sister, Darlene Reynolds and her husband, Don, of Arizona.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, 11528 Highway 17 Bypass, Murrells Inlet, S.C.

Joyce M. Hastick
BLOOMINGDALE - Joyce M. DeLuca Hastick, 55, died Wednesday.
Born in Passaic, she lived in Passaic, Nutley and Highland Lakes before moving to Bloomingdale six years ago.
Ms. Hastick was employed as a space technologist for Acosta Sales and Marketing in Hackensack for the past three years.
She is survived by one son, Alexander III, of Rossville, Ga.; one daughter, Stacey Sondervan, of Hamburg; one brother, Nicholas DeLuca Jr., of Toms River; one sister, Marty Mullen, of Bayville; her mother, Mary Burek DeLuca, of Bayville and five grandchildren.
Funeral services are under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, 631 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.

Theresa Paternostro
LYNDHURST - Theresa Paternostro, 91, died Wednesday in Hackettstown.
Born in Italy, she lived in Lyndhurst for 64 years.
Mrs. Paternostro was employed by Bregstein Lingerie in Lyndhurst for 30 years before retiring in 1973. She was also a volunteer at Clara Maass Hospital in Belleville for 20 years, serving 8,250 hours.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus No. 2396, where she served as past president, past vice president and secretary; a member of the Friendship Club in Lyndhurst and a member of the Lyndhurst AARP, where she served as the community service chairperson.
Mrs. Paternostro was a member of the Sacred Heart Church where she served in the following capacities: Rosary Society as past president and vice president, the Sacred Heart Seniors, Parish Council on the Human Concerns Committee and chairperson of the Cenacle and Marion society.
In 1993, she was named the Lyndhurst Volunteer of the Year.
Mrs. Paternostro was honorary chairperson of the Pope John XXIII Regional High School auction.
She was predeceased by her husband, V. Santo "Sam," in 1973; two brothers, Samuel and Fred Paone and one sister, Mary Ann Vescio.
Mrs. Paternostro is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Kohler and her husband, Edward Sr.; one son, Victor and his wife, Patricia; two sisters, Josephine Romeo and Rose Dignazio; one brother, James Paone; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Nazare Memorial Home Inc., 403 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst.

Norman Bolin
SPARTA - Norman Howard Bolin, 82, of Sparta, died Sunday.
Born on Feb. 6, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Peekskill, N.Y., before moving to Sparta 33 years ago. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946, serving in the China theater. Mr. Bolin worked as a logistics manager for Singer-Kearfott Inc., in Little Falls, retiring in 1988 after 25 years.
Mr. Bolin was a senior bowler at Sparta Lanes, a life member of the PFC Jeffrey S. Patterson, Detachment No. 747, of the Marine Corps League and a member of the Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta.
He was past president and held various executive board positions in the Northern New Jersey Square Dance Association.
Mr. Bolin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey; two sons, Kenneth, of Southbury, Conn., and Donald, of Shrewsbury, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta.
