MARGARET JEAN PEDERSEN, 73, of Keyport died June 23 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Newark, she and her twin sister were the first set of twins born at Beth Israel Hospital, Newark. She lived in Union Beach prior to moving to Keyport 54 years ago. She was the owner and co-manager of Pedersen Marine Hardware, Keyport. Prior to that, she was a homemaker and was employed at Entron, Morganville section of Marlboro, retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine Wotton. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ivan D. Pedersen of Keyport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Amy Pedersen, and Wade and Jane Pedersen, all of Keyport; her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Mark Orr of Keyport; two sisters, Doris Strang of Keyport, and Georgette Sullivan of Hingham, Mass.; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be June 26 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be June 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport.

AL DIAMOND, 72, of the Covered Bridge adult community in Manalapan, died June 17 at Monmouth Medical Hospice Center, Long Branch. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Manalapan 22 years ago. He was the owner and operator of Diamond Glass and Mirror Works, Brooklyn, for 30 years before retiring in 1980. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl, who died in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Gloria (née Gelber); two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bruce and Marsha of Marlboro, and Lawrence of Parlin; a son-in-law, Warren Diamond of Locust section of Middletown; and four grandchildren. Interment took place at King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

FLORENCE MOREY STURT, 72, of Matawan died June 17 at The Center for Hospice Care, Long Branch. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Eatontown for 50 years before to moving to Matawan one year ago. She was a dog groomer at Flo’s Happy Clipper, Eatontown. She was a member of Grace Christian Church, Tinton Falls. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Robert C. Sturt, in 1996. She is survived by a daughter, Dana Lee Granato of Eatontown; two brothers, George Morey of Old Bridge, and Edward Morey of Matawan; three sisters, Anna Walling of Matawan, Loretta Krampert of Florida, and Patricia Ann Morey of South Carolina; and two grandchildren. A funeral service was offered at Grace Christian Church, Tinton Falls. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet. JANE WILKINSON BANYARD, 93, of Middletown died June 18 at Brighton Gardens, Middletown. Born in East Orange, she lived in Little Silver and Bermuda prior to moving to Middletown four years ago. She was a retired sales clerk for H.A. & E. Smith’s Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda, for 34 years. She volunteered at the King Edward the V Memorial Hospital, and the Bermuda Sailor’s Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Leslie F. Banyard in 1958, and a sister, Barbara McClellan. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard O. and Sharon Banyard of the Lincroft section of Middletown, and Frederick P. and Doris Banyard of Savannah, Ga.; her sister, Lois Hardiman of Columbia, S.C.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Interment was at St. John Church Cemetery, Pembroke, Bermuda. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

HELEN B. SCHEFF, 86, of Hazlet died June 18 at Avanti at Red Bank. Born in New York City, she lived in Mays Landing prior to moving to Hazlet four years ago. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Scheff in 1997. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Deborah Sefcik of the Clarksburg section of Millstone; her sister, Viola Cliszis of Long Island, N.Y.; her brother, Albert Prades of Pensacola, Fla.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.

MINERVA B. MILLER, 88, of Keansburg died June 19 at Bayside Manor, Keansburg. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in the Belford section of Middletown before moving to Keansburg three years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Altar Guild, organist, and thrift shop volunteer at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, Belford, co-founded by her father, the Rev. John P. Euler. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilson A. Miller in 1983. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A funeral service was offered at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, Belford. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, 300 Church St., Belford 07718.

EDWARD ALLEN RITTER, 75, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen, died June 19 at home. Born in Red Bank, he lived in Keyport, prior to moving to Cliffwood Beach 42 years ago. He was a retired employee of Celotex, Perth Amboy. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha Munson Ritter of Cliffwood Beach; his sister, Mildred Noe; his nephew and his wife, James and Carol Noe of Brielle; and two nieces, Susan Noe and Holly Noe.

THOMAS B. O’BRIEN, 74, of Hazlet died June 12 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Hazlet, he lived most of his life in Keansburg before moving to Hazlet three years ago. He was a switchman for N.J. Bell System, Middletown, for 33 years, retiring in 1986. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a founding member and ex-deputy mayor of the Keansburg Borough Council, a founding member and member of the Keansburg Municipal Utilities Authority, and also served on the Keansburg Planning and Zoning Boards. He was a life exempt member of the New Point Comfort Fire Company, Keansburg, and ex-chief of the Keansburg Fire Department. He was also a member of the Keansburg Board of Education, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene O’Brien. He is survived by his former wife, Joan Clark O’Brien of Hazlet; two daughters, Kathleen J. Pfleger of Middletown, and Pegeen Commiso of Pine Beach; two sons, Thomas O’Brien of Middletown, and Timothy O’Brien of Shrewsbury; three brothers, William O’Brien of Jackson, Edward O’Brien of Everett, Wash., and Richard O’Brien of Cullowhee, N.C.; and nine grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to New Point Comfort Fire Company, 275 Beachway, Keansburg 07734; or the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

TANYA B. PERONE, 70, of Middletown died June 15 at home. Born in New York City, she lived in Hazlet 37 years and moved to Middletown two years ago. She was predeceased by a son, Raymond Perone; and a daughter, Lisa Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Raymond J. Perone of Middletown; two sons, Christopher Perone of Metuchen, and Dana Perone of Colonia; three daughters and one son-in-law, Cathy Perone of Woodbridge, Lori and Keith Knowles of Howell, and Lynn Mancini of Keansburg; her sister-in-law, Jean Perone of New York City; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held June 19 at 10:30 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum.

BHASKAR N. SANAKKAYALA, 54, of Holmdel died June 15 at home. Born in Visag, India, he lived in Middletown prior to moving to Holmdel 18 years ago. He was a retired director for Lucent Technologies, Holmdel, for 28 years. He was predeceased by his father, Radhakrishna Sanakkayala. He is survived by his wife, Nirmala Galla; his son, Aroop Sanakkayala; his daughter, Suma Sanakkayala; and his mother, Mangardra Sanakkayala, all of Holmdel; and his sister, Sohba Sanakkayala of Visag, India. A funeral service will be held June 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.
