Raymond E. Blatz
Mr. Blatz, 81, of Freehold Township, died March 10 at Pine Brook Care Center, Manalapan. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Lyndhurst before moving to Freehold Township six years ago. Before his retirement in 1990, Mr. Blatz was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service at the Dominick Daniels Branch in Kearny. He was a World War II veteran. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Mr. Blatz was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Johnston. He is survived by his wife, Helen; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Jr. and Evelyn Blatz of Tinton Falls; two daughters and a son-in-law, Christine and Kevin Belli of Round Hill, Va., and Joan E. Gomez of Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Doris Gonzales of Bridgewater; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Edward Wilson Hutley
Mr. Hutley, 75, of Shrewsbury, died Feb. 27 at Avante at Red Bank. Born in Sharon, Pa., he resided in Old Bridge, Neptune, and New York City, prior to relocating to Shrewsbury. He was director of finance at the YWCA Pension Trust, New York City, retiring in 1997. Prior to that, he was Assistant Treasurer for Gulf & Western Industries for the Internal Revenue Service for 25 years. He was a member of the American Association of Certified Public Accountants. He was also a member of the New York Road Runners Club, and Shore Athletic Club. He was predeceased by a brother, William Hutley. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Catherine Moore Hutley; a son, John L. Hutley of Shrewsbury; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Hutley and David Fields of New York City; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Lin Hutley of Sharon, Pa.; and one grandson. Vincent Stasi
Mr. Stasi, 81, of Old Bridge, died Feb. 28 at home. Born in Durazzano, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in 1952, residing in South River before moving to Old Bridge in 1967. Mr. Stasi owned a nursery and retail garden center, retiring in 1999. Prior to that, he was employed at Delco Battery and at Hercules Powder Co. During World War II, he served with the Carbinieri, the Italian Mounted Police, and was taken prisoner by the German army and labored at a munitions depot until being freed after the war. He was a founding member of the South River Chapter of the Italian-American Association. He was predeceased by his siblings, Rosa, Pietro, Antonio and Marco. Mr. Stasi is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosa Iadevaia Stasi; three sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent Jr. and Graciela Stasi of New York City, Michael and Deborah Stasi of Red Bank, and Joseph and Diane Stasi of Cranbury; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lucia and Daniel Moran, and Rosemarie Stasi, all of Old Bridge, and Christine and Marc Dostie of Red Bank; five brothers, Raffaele, Carmine, Severino and Stefano, all of Italy, and Luciano of Matawan; and 11 grandchildren. was celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, South River, followed by interment at Holy Cross Burial

Edna Hanley Strachan Jakubecy
Mrs. Jakubecy, 91, of Middletown, died Feb. 27 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She resided in Little Silver, prior to moving to Middletown two years ago. She was a homemaker. Prior to that, she was an avid sportswoman, winning the North American Speed Skating Championships two times, the Silver Skates Competition in New York City, and inductee in the New York City Sports Hall of Fame. She also won several regional championships in swimming and high diving. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Red Bank Elks Lodge No. 233. She was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas Strachan in 1967. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Emil L.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Sura Strachan of Holmdel, Jim and Brenda Jakubecy of Charlotte, N.C., and Dick and Susan Jakubecy of Dunwoody, Ga.; a daughter, Susan Palmer of Lakewood; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Eleanor Smith
Mrs. Smith, 97, of Red Bank, died March 14 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Long Branch, she resided in Oceanport before moving to Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph B. Smith in 2000. She is survived by a son, David K. Smith of Eatontown. Interment

Mary E. Collins
Mrs. Collins, 99, of Marlboro, died March 17 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living, Middletown. Born in Holmdel, she had lived there before moving to Marlboro in 1945. A graduate of the Newark State Normal School, Mrs. Collins was a grammar school teacher in Keyport for 16 years and later in the Holmdel school system from 1958 to 1972. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro, and a former member of its Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the New Jersey Education Association, the National Education Association, the New Jersey Retired Education Association, and a member of AARP. Mrs. Collins was predeceased by her husband, Martin, in 1958. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Patricia Collins, of Natick, Mass.; a daughter, Karen Collins of Red Bank; and one granddaughter. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Gabriel's Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. Ethel M. Yorg
Mrs. Yorg, 87, of Shrewsbury, died March 9 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury. Mrs. Yorg was a member of Shrewsbury Presbyterian Church; the Ladies Auxiliary of Shrewsbury Hose Company No. 1; and Red Bank Chapter of Deborah. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Yorg, in 1996. Mrs. Yorg is survived by two sons, John Yorg of Shrewsbury and Robert Yorg of the Wanamassa section of Ocean Township; two daughters, Barbara Peck of Shrewsbury and Nancy Demaree of West Long Branch; a sister, Dorothy Stavola of Middletown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Rose Troina
Mrs. Troina, 71, of Lakewood, died March 5 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Newark, she had resided in Brick, Seaside Park and North Arlington before moving to Lakewood. She held several positions as an office manager in Monmouth and Ocean counties for more than 30 years, most recently as an office manager for New Jersey Diagnostic Imaging, Toms River, for eight years. Mrs. Troina is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael W. and Kimberly Goione of Fair Haven, Steven R. and Terri Lynn Goione of Wilmington, N.C., and Christopher J. and Diane M. Goione of Colts Neck; a brother, Vincent F. Troina of New Jersey; three sisters, Maria T. Rapp and Eleanor T. Wyrich, both of Florida, and Barbara T. Christiansen of Maryland; and seven grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Interment

Sam Isamu Nakagama
Mr. Nakagama, 81, of Holmdel, died March 8 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Delano, Calif., he resided in Rumson before moving to Holmdel. From 1982 until his retirement in 1988, Mr. Nakagama was the owner of Nakagama & Co., Middletown. Prior to that, he co-owned Nakagama & Wallace Inc.; was a partner and chief economist at Kidder, Peabody & Co.; and wrote for Business Week. He served in military intelligence during World War II, and after the war he served as a civilian in Gen. Douglas MacArthur's Sociological and Psychological Unit in Japan. Mr. Nakagama was predeceased by three brothers, Saburo, Edward and Bill. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Champion Nakagama; two sons, David K. Nakagama of Santa Clara, Calif., and Clark S. Nakagama of New Brunswick; two daughters, Anne Michi Magee of Short Hills and Eunice Kimi Nakagama of New York City; a sister, Fumi Kato of Gresham, Ore.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held April 19 at 5 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Monmouth County, Lincroft section of Middletown. The John E.
