WILLIAM R. TAYLOR JR., 72, of East Brunswick died Aug. 11 at Robert Wood John­son University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Old Bridge and East Brunswick for 61 years prior to retiring to Florida 11 years ago. He was an operating en­gineer at Union Local No. 825, Springfield, retir­ing in 1992. He served with the U.S. Army dur­ing the Korean War and received two Purple Hearts. He was a former communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 14000, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Gi­angrasso Taylor; his son and daughter-in-law, William and Donna Taylor of Cream Ridge; two daughters and one son-in-law, Janice Taylor of North Brunswick, and Jayne and Patrick O’Connell of Safety Har­bor, Fla.; and six grandchildren. Visi­tation will be Aug. 15 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. The funeral service will be Aug. 15 at 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 100, Dept. 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552.

THERESA C. McINTYRE, 76, of Millstone died Aug. 16 at home. Born in Kane, Pa., she had been a resident of Millstone for the past 33 years. Mrs. McIntyre was the owner of C&T Manufacturing Co. before her retirement. She was a member of the Millstone Seniors and an election board worker. Mrs. McIntyre was predeceased by her husband, Claude F. McIntyre. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Carol McIntyre and Ray Hander of Fairbanks, Ark.; a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick and Jutta Prechtl McIntyre of Griesheim, Germany; a sister, Caroline Kane of Kane, Pa.; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 91 Stillhouse Road, Millstone, Aug. 21 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Allentown. The Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown, is in charge of arrangements.

LESLIE FILEPP, 87, of Colts Neck died Aug. 14 at home. Born in Romania, he had lived in New York City before moving to Colts Neck more than 60 years ago. Mr. Filepp was a professional mechanical engineer for Koppers, Baltimore, for 10 years before retiring in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was part of the postwar occupation force in Japan. He was a senior member of the American Society of Professional Engineers. He was a former member of the Colts Neck Board of Education, where he served as president. Mr. Filepp is survived by his wife, Rosa Rutson Filepp; and two sons, Victor Filepp of Gales Ferry, Conn., and Ronald Filepp of Roosevelt. Funeral services were private. Memorial donations may be made to the Deborah Heart and Lung Foundation, 212 Trenton Road, Browns Mills 08015.

PHILIP J. RESTINE, 83, of Millstone died Aug. 16 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived in Newark before moving to Millstone in 1949. Mr. Restine and his family operated PJR Farms, Millstone, since 1949. He was predeceased by his wife, Sophie Restine, in 2001. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Philip J. Jr. and Penny Restine; a daughter, Bette Restine Ivins; two brothers, Clemente Restine and Carmen Restine; four sisters, his twin, Palmina Risso, Mary Salerno, Madeline Cevetto and Natalie Elmos; and five grandchildren. Interment was held at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.

MARY A. SUMMER, 77, of Millstone died Aug. 15 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in the Perrineville section of Millstone, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Summer was a cafeteria aide in the Millstone Township elementary schools for several years, retiring 14 years ago. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone, where she was a past deacon. She was a booster member of the Millstone Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and a Girl Scout leader of Troop 116, Millstone. She was predeceased by three brothers, Frank L. Palmer, in 1994, and Charles Palmer and Norman H. Palmer, both in 1996. Mrs. Summer is survived by her husband, Melvin L. Summer Sr.; three sons, Melvin L. Summer Jr. of Canyon Lake, Calif., Kevin C. Summer of New Egypt, and Donald J. Summer and his fiancée, Cathy Calcaterra, of Lawrenceville; two brothers, William F. Palmer of Kissimmee, Fla., and Richard J. Palmer of Millstone; three sisters, Emma F. Palmer and Madelyn P. Gilbert, both of Millstone, and Elizabeth C. McCabe of Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services were held at United Presbyterian Church of Millstone, with the Rev. Gregory Pike officiating, followed by interment at the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone Building Fund, 211 Millstone Road, Perrineville 08535.

BARBARA J. DOLAN PRESCOTT, 54, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge died Aug. 6 at Bayshore Com­munity Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of Laurence Harbor. She was a picker and packer at L’Oreal, Dayton section of South Brunswick. She was prede­ceased by her mother, Eleanor Rogers Dolan in 1995. She is survived by her father, Raymond Dolan of Ha­zlet; her husband, Edward W. Prescott Sr. of Lau­rence Harbor; her son, Ed­ward W. Prescott Jr.; her sister, Eleanor Dolan of the West Keansburg sec­tion of Hazlet; her brother and sister-in-law, Ray­mond and Eileen Dolan Jr. of Howell; two grand­children; and three nieces.

ROBERT S. HORNE III, 43, of Spotswood, formerly of Milltown and East Brunswick, died Aug. 6 at home. Surviving are four brothers, Judson of Harrisburg, Pa., Jonathan of East Brunswick and David and Andrew, both of North Brunswick; a daughter, Maryann Corriea of Craig, Colo.; and three nephews. A memorial service was held at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, New Jersey Memorial, P.O. Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150-1160.

MARY NASH, 82, of Sayreville died Aug. 4 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to her retirement, she was em­ployed at DuPont Photo Products Division, Parlin section of Sayreville. Surviving are five nieces, Janet Beauregard of North Brunswick, Dian Abbey of South Amboy, Dr. Dona Abbey of California, Carol Ward of Oklahoma and Maryanne Nelson of Virginia; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great nephews. Services were held at Christ Episcopal Church, South Amboy. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church or to the Central Jersey Chapter of the American Red Cross, Princeton.

MARIE F. RAPPLEYEA BLASZKA, 86, of Sayreville died Aug. 8 in Care One at East Brunswick Health Center. Her husband, Dominick, died in 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Ann Steiner of Sayreville; a brother, Ed Rappleyea, and a sister, Gail Smalley, both of Sayreville; a nephew, William Rappleyea Jr. of Sayreville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville. Memorial contribu­tions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, 1100 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712.

NANCY "SUSIE" PAPPALARDO, 79, of North Brunswick died Aug. 12 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in North Brunswick, she lived there prior to moving to South Plainfield seven years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Metuchen Assembly of God. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Salvatore and Marie Pappalardo Jr. of Phoenix; her sister, Josephine Gnozzio of Clifton; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at Metuchen Assembly of God. Interment was at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to Metuchen Assembly of God, 130 Whitman Ave., Metuchen 08840.
