MARGARET PERDUK RUTKOWSKI BUTLER of North Brunswick died Jan. 15 at the Barbara Cheung Hospice, Edison. Born in Franklin, she resided in the New Brunswick area for most of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, John Perduk in 1977. She is survived by her son, John Perduk of Arizona; her daughter, Margaret Zambrano-Davis of Florida; two brothers, Frank Rutkowski of Milltown, and John Rutkowski of Princeton; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Milltown. Burial was at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to Barbara E. Cheung Hospice, Parsonage Road, Edison 08818.

GREGORY STITH, 61, of Montrose, Colo., and formerly Milltown and North Brunswick died Jan. 15 after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Costa Rica. Born in New York City, he resided in Milltown and North Brunswick prior to moving to Colorado four years ago. He was a major with the New Jersey State Police for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He served with the U.S. Navy in its submarine service from 1959-61. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Milltown. He was a member of the American Legion Joyce Kilmer Post No. 25, Milltown. He was predeceased by his father, Harry Stith. He is survived by his wife, Irene Voharas Stith of Montrose, Colo.; his mother, Edith Romaldi Schork of Milltown; his son, Don Coleman of Brigantine; his daughter, Donna Sauers of Vineland; his sister, Connie Michael of Jamesville, Va.; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Log Hill Mesa Fire Protection District, P.O. Box 747, Montrose CO 81402; or Colonna Community Church, c/o Donna Boyle, 4433 County Road 22, Montrose CO 81401.

STANLEY WALTER KRZYWICKI, 74, of East Brunswick died Jan. 16 in Applegarth Care Center, Monroe. His wife, Florence Garboski Krzywicki, died in 1993. Surviving are three sons, Brian Krzywicki of the Princeton Junction section of West Windsor, Glenn Krzywicki of Freehold and Gary Krzywicki of South Brunswick; a daughter, Lynn Krzywicki of East Brunswick; a sister, Sonia Solook of Freehold; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South River. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Brunswick.

ANDREW F. PLEWA, 86, of Sayreville died Jan. 16 at home. Surviving are his wife, Julia Dominick Plewa; two daughters, Judyann Kowalski of the Titusville section of Hopewell and Debbie Rodia of Hamilton; a son, Gary Plewa of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick; three sisters, Mary Kozinski of Chicago and Rose Wickley and Irene Malik, both of South Amboy; two brothers, Stanley Plewa of Old Bridge and Walter Plewa of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus Kostka School Endowment Fund, MacArthur Avenue, Sayreville, NJ 08872.

SANTO JOHN INTRAVARTOLO, 74, of Jamesburg died Jan. 17 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. A local businessman, he served as a Jamesburg Borough Council member for eight years during the 1970s. Surviving are his wife, Helen M. Nemeez Intravartolo; a son, John of Monroe; a daughter, Robin Yeager of Hillsborough; three sisters, Antoinette of Jamesburg, Rita Sutton of New Berlin, Wis., and Madeline Hart of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a brother, Dr. John of Kennewick, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Catherine Intravartolo of Jamesburg; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Funeral services are set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 24 at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Monroe. A funeral liturgy will be offered at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, Jamesburg. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Jamesburg Elks Lodge No. 2180 Handicapped Children’s Fund, West Railroad Avenue, Jamesburg, NJ 08831.

BEVERLY ESTOK SARKANY, 58, of Sayreville died Jan. 11 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was employed by the East Brunswick Board of Education for the past 20 years as a secretary in the attendance office at East Brunswick High School. Surviving are a son, Andrew Sarkany of Sayreville; a daughter, Jennie Grover of Allentown, Pa.; and her mother, Jennie Cygan Estok of Sayreville. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville.

RICHARD DIRLE, 50, of East Brunswick died Jan. 16 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Surviving are his companion, Walter Helmlinger; his mother, Patricia Flynn Dirle of McKeesport, Pa.; and four brothers, David and Scott, both of McKeesport, Tim of Albuquerque, N.M., and Chris of Virginia Beach, Va. A memorial service was held at Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.

RALPH YOUNG, 96, of East Brunswick died Jan. 18 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. A charter member of the East Brunswick Auxiliary Police, he was a special police officer and a charter appointee to the township Shade Tree Commission. His wife, Mary C. Young, died in 1994. Surviving are four daughters, Marylyn Bastkowski of East Brunswick, Judy Herdman of Flemington, Janet E. Young of Cupertino, Calif., and Karen Young of Moonachie; a brother, Wesley Young of Pepperill, Mass.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions were made to the East Brunswick Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 7171, East Brunswick, NJ 08816, or to St. George Episcopal Church, 56 Main St., Helmetta, NJ 08828.

FLORENCE CATHERINE WEIGEL, 93, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of East Brunswick, died Jan. 7 in Shadow Mountain Skilled Care Facility, Scottsdale. Her husband, Francis X. Weigel, died in 1977. Surviving are two brothers, Herbert Heissner of Jupiter, Fla., and Frederick Heissner of Maricopa, Ariz.; two daughters, Francine Petrucci of Scottsdale and Beverly Alexander of South River; and three grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

VIOLA M. BJORKNER, 92, of Wellington, Fla., formerly of West Long Branch, died Jan. 8 at Wellington Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Newark, she resided in the Elberon section of Long Branch and in West Long Branch before moving to Wellington three years ago. She was a former member of The First Presbyterian Church of Long Branch. She was a past matron and 75-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Adah Chapter No. 5, Red Bank; and a life member of the Deborah Hospital Foundation. She was predeceased by her husband, Alex E. Bjorkner, in 1978. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Arline and Fred Evans, with whom she lived, and Delores and Fred Hussmann of Orange, Fla.; her son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Nancy Bjorkner of Centerton; her sister, Evelyn Breen of South Brunswick; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Salaam Shriners Transportation Fund, 369 E. Mount Pleasant Ave., Livingston, 07039.
