RICHARD P. MASKEVICH, 68, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge died Sept. 4 at home. Born in Linden, he moved to Laurence Harbor 53 years ago. He worked in shipping and receiving at General Motors Inc., Linden, for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He served with the U.S. Navy during peacetime. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Keyport. He was predeceased by his parents, Apollo A. and Julie K. Maskevich; his son, Richard P. Maskevich Jr. in 1957; and his brothers, Milton Maskevich and Wilbur Maskevich. He is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, April and Robert Gareis of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen, Erin Kozak of Laurence Harbor, and Lisa Maskevich of Cliffwood Beach; his sister and brother-in-law, Marie and John Murray of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Cremation was private.
MARY T. FLYNN McLAUGHLIN of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Aug. 25 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in New York City, she resided in Hoboken before moving to Port Monmouth in 1966. She was a waitress at Dunkin’ Donuts, Middletown and Hazlet, for 25 years. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard J. McLaughlin, in 1999; and a son, Brian McLaughlin, in 1976. She is survived by three sons, Sean McLaughlin of Jersey City, Joseph McLaughlin of Port Monmouth, and Michael McLaughlin of Keansburg; two daughters, Maureen Jetter of Matawan, and Anne Thorne of Jackson; two brothers, Patrick Flynn of Fort Lee, and John Flynn of Hoboken; two sisters, Anne Rogan of East Meadow, New York, and Margaret Hayes of Hoboken; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. EDWARD P. BLECHA, 84, of Marietta, Ga., died Aug. 22 at Tranquility Hospice, Austell, Ga. Born in Newark, he lived in Keyport and Freehold before moving to Marietta 13 years ago. Mr. Blecha was an insurance agent for State Farm. He was a graduate of Keyport High School and Rutgers University. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Freehold. Mr. Blecha a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Erika Haeppner Blecha, in 1986. Surviving are a daughter Karen L. Stiltz of Marietta; and two granddaughters. Graveside services were at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
CHARLES W. DAALDER, 84, of Middletown died Aug. 16 at New York University Medical Center, New York City. Born in Bayport, N.Y., he resided in Rego Park, N.Y., prior to moving to Middletown 20 years ago. Mr. Daalder was an engineer at New York Telephone Co., New York City, for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was a member of the New York Telephone Pioneers of America, and the Knights of Columbus Mother Cabrini Council, Middle Village, N.Y. He served as a leader of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorers, in Queens, N.Y. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary J. Malloy Daalder, in 2002. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. and Mary Daalder of Tinton Falls; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lorraine M. and Patrick Connolly of the Lincroft section of Middletown, and Mary Ellen Daalder of Middletown; and four grandchildren. A funeral gathering will be held Aug. 20 at 9:15 a.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.
ANNA FLYNN, 83, of Keyport died Aug. 17 at home. She was born in New York City. She was a registered nurse at Victory Memorial Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y., retiring in 1987. She was predeceased by her husband, James Flynn, in 1995. She is survived by her children, Rita Flynn, Rose Marie Micciola, Patricia Worth, Jean Walsh, Mary Flynn, James Flynn and Eugene Flynn; 19 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Aug. 20 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Bedle Funeral Home, Matawan. A funeral service will be held Aug. 21 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment

MILDRED AMATO GRAMEGNA, 82, of Hazlet died Aug. 18 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided there before moving to Hazlet in 1988. She was a supervisor at Faemart, Brooklyn, for 22 years, retiring in 1988. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She was a member of the Hazlet Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Gramegna, in 1971. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Danette Gramegna of Long Island, N.Y.; her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Nelson Sousa of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet; four sisters; three brothers; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Aug. 21 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be held Aug. 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, Farmingdale, N.Y.
MARK GENE OLSEN, 56, of Keyport died Aug. 16 at home. Mr. Olsen was originally from Jersey City. He was part owner of Yellow Taxi Cab Service, Red Bank. Prior to that, he worked at United Parcel Service, Edison, for 25 years, retiring in 1996. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants and Mets. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Marie Olsen. He is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Scully of Marlboro; a son, Brian Olsen of Hazlet; his former wife, Diane Olsen of Hazlet; a brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Toni Olsen of Kearny; a sister, Christine Dempsey of Chino, Calif.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Aug. 20 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Aug. 21 at 9 a.m. at Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. GEORGE HARRY DYCHE, 79, of Middletown, died July 30 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Burton-upon-Trent, England, he moved to the United States and became naturalized in 1960. He was employed by the United States Government, retiring in 1991. Prior to that, he was employed in computer engineering at Electronic Associates, West Long Branch, for 30 years. He served with the Royal Navy during World War II, and also performed communications work on the flagship for the invasion of Normandy. He enjoyed painting, gardening and reading, and was an avid historian of the war at sea. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Dulcie Dyche. He is survived by his brother, Cyril Dyche of Stroud, England; his son, Nigel J. Dyche of Barnstable, Mass.; and one grandson. Memorial donations may be made to Count Basie Learning Center, 138 W. FRANCES R. LYNCH, 82, of Matawan died Aug. 7 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, she resided there until moving to Matawan 27 years ago. A homemaker, she was a communicant of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter F. Lynch in 1996; and two daughters, Maureen Carol Perfetto and Deborah R. Pekarsky. She is survived by two sons-in-law, Lawrence P. Perfetto of Sayreville, and Hank Pekarsky of Hazlet; three sisters, Rose Casserly, Mary Ingenito, and Irene Bowen of Matawan; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum. FRANCIS X. MOORE, 70, of Holmdel, died Aug. 9 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He resided in Little Silver for 30 years, prior to moving to Holmdel three years ago. He was an attorney in Red Bank. Prior to that, he was employed at the FBI and was a patrolman and detective in the Intelligence Squad of the New York City Police Department while attending law school. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He had defended clients in New Jersey Municipal, Superior, Federal and Supreme courts, as well as the New York court system. He was appointed as the New Jersey representative to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Investigations of Organized Crime, and as deputy attorney general in the state of New Jersey Criminal Division. He held memberships in the American, Federal, New Jersey State and Monmouth bar associations, as well as the American Trial Lawyers Association. He was a current trustee emeritus and trustee of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Jersey Shore, member and trustee of the 200 Club of Monmouth County and 200 Club of Ocean County, and member and past president of Kiwanis International, Lincroft section of Middletown; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Red Bank; and the Knights of Columbus, Fair Haven. He was also a member of the Honor Legion of Police, State of New Jersey, and Retired Patrolmen’s Association, and Detectives Endowment Association, both New York City. He was proclaimed as a life member in Kingston’s National Registry of Who’s Who in 2002 and awarded the distinction of Most Influential Municipal Court Attorney in New Jersey by the New Jersey State Bar Association, Municipal Court Committee. He is recognized as a founding member of the National College for DUI Defense Inc., and served on its board of regents. He was also the first individual to be board certified by the National College in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Harriett Rogers Moore of Holmdel; three daughters, Christine Moore of Rumson, Ann-Therese Moore of Middletown, and Tara Louise Moore of Holmdel; two sons, Francis X. Moore Jr. of Lincroft and Timothy Rogers of Ann Arbor, Mich.; his sister, Ann Duffy of Lakewood; his brother, Gerald Moore of Rochester, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
