ISMAY ELIZABETH BOYNTON, 69, of Matawan died Feb. 23 at home. She was born and raised in Hamilton, Bermuda, and resided in Plainfield and Newark before moving to Matawan in 1975. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Keyport. She was predeceased by her brother, Arthur Smith. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George Walter Boynton of Matawan; four daughters, Deborah, Wanda, Brenda and Angela; her son and daughter-in-law, George and Sandra Boynton Jr.; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Vivian Smith, Inez Brangman, Vera and Billie Milner, Eleanor Henry, and Rite and Rupert Hill; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

LORETTA M. DAWE, 59, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen died Feb. 24 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Laurence Harbor before moving to Cliffwood Beach 21 years ago. She was a claims representative at Robert Plan Insurance, Edison, the past 40 years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. She was predeceased by her father, Dominick Cannule. She is survived by her mother, Marie Muratore Cannule of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her daughter, Jennifer Kouri of Cliffwood Beach; two sons, Kenneth Dawe of Cliffwood Beach, and Kevin L. Dawe of Homesdale, Pa.; her sister, Frances Nastasi of Brooklyn; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport.

KATHLEEN "KITTY" GAUNT, 71, of Milltown died Feb. 24 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in St. Nicholas, Pa., she resided in Hazlet before moving to Milltown in 1970. She was a homemaker. She was employed at Engelhard Industries, Newark, during the 1950s. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Milltown. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Gaunt Jr., in 1995. She is survived by two sons, Michael Gaunt of Lawrenceville, and Thomas Gaunt of Old Bridge; four daughters, Karen Gaunt-Lewis of Lambertville, Elizabeth Gzemski of Broken Arrow, Okla., Joyce Gaunt of Howell, and Joan Horvath of Old Bridge; her sister, Dorothy Mehm of Milltown; her brother, Robert Mehm of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and nine grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Milltown. Interment was at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to Eden Institute, 1 Eden Way, Princeton, 08540; or American Cancer Society, 846 Main St., Fords 08863.

JOHN "JACK" WIST, 81, of Matawan died Feb. 25 in Boca Raton, Fla. Born in Sayreville, he resided in Matawan prior to moving to Boca Raton 10 years ago. He was a retired employee at DuPont Photo Products, Parlin, where he was employed for 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army for six years, stationed in the Philippine Islands. He volunteered at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was predeceased by his wife, Emma Brown Wist, in 1993. He is survived by his sister, Charlotte Ryan of South Amboy; and several nieces and nephews.

FRANCIS X. MURPHY SR., 48, of Middletown died Feb. 27 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, he was a lithographer at Local No. 1 Amalgamated Lithographers of America, and worked at various printing companies for 27 years. He was a secular Franciscan apostolate, 3rd Order. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was predeceased by his wife, Darlynn Murphy; and his father, James J. Murphy. He is survived by his mother, Jean C. Murphy of Middletown; a daughter, Colleen Murphy; two sons, Francis X. Murphy Jr., and Michael Murphy; seven brothers, James J. Murphy III of Hazlet, Sean P. Murphy of Little Silver, Joseph James Murphy of North Carolina, and Thomas A. Murphy, Kevin J. Murphy, Richard "Ted" Murphy, and Paul Murphy, all of Middletown; and three sisters, Jean Marie Chudzik and Annmarie Murphy O’Reilly, both of Middletown, and Valentina Marie Feldman of Hazlet. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

LORETTA C. CHRYSTAL, 95, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Feb. 28 at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Newark, she resided in Asbury Park before moving to Cliffwood. Mrs. Chrystal was a cashier at Evelyn’s Seafood, Belmar, and Yvonne’s Rhapsody Blue Inn, Long Branch, for 65 years, retiring in 1990. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl F. Chrystal Sr., and a son, Earl F. Chrystal Jr. She is survived by a son, Robert Chrystal of Matawan; a daughter, Mary Jane Rietzke of Cartersville, Ga.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughters. Interment was at Clinton Cemetery, Irvington.

CATHERINE BARRY TRENTON of Middletown Township died Feb. 6 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, she resided in Middletown for several years. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman C. Trenton in 1974. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Karen Trenton of Fair Haven; her niece, Gloria DeCarlo of Hazlet; and two grandchildren, Patrick Trenton and Melissa Trenton. Memorial donations may be made to Middletown First Aid Squad, 60 Monmouth Parkway, North Middletown 07748.

RONALD K. STECK, 70, of Bunker Hill, W. Va., and formerly Middletown died Feb. 1 at home. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Middletown for 25 years prior to moving to Bunker Hill 10 years ago. He was a senior technical assistant at AT&T, Holmdel, for 39 years, retiring in 1989. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was predeceased by his wife, Jennie Williams Steck in 1988. He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Steven Silverstein of West Long Branch, Sharon and Ben Barresi of Little Silver, Jeanne and Chris Risafi of Freehold, and Diane and Jimmy McDonald of Middletown; his sister and brother, Carol Steck and Robert Steck, both of New Jersey; and nine grandchildren. Burial was at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.

AGNES PERRINI, 83, of Forked River died Feb. 8 at Whiting Healthcare. Born in Bloomfield, she lived in Clearwater, Fla., and North Middletown before moving to Forked River in 1988. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Perrini, in 1988. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Michelle Perrini of Middletown, and George and Patricia Perrini of Forked River; a sister, Verna DeMark of Belleville; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. Burial was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. MABEL A. RALL, 95, of Holmdel died Feb. 9 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in New York City, she resided in Indiana and Keyport prior to moving to Holmdel. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church, Holmdel. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Rall in 1983. She is survived by her son, Alfred Rall of Salem, Ind.; her daughter, Janet Higby of Fort Pierce, Fla.; her brother, Joseph Nickel of Bricktown; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren
