DELIA VILLAFANE FERREIRA, 74, of Mon­mouth Beach died April 30 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Humaco, Puerto Rico, she resided in New York prior to moving to Monmouth Beach in 1965. She was the owner and operator of La Sabrosita Restaurant, Perth Amboy, for 30 years, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Ferreira of Monmouth Beach; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Nick and Sandra Ferreira of Monmouth Beach and Rick Ferreira of Brick; her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Irma Villafane of Newburgh, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

DORIS L. LEINBACH FREDERICK, 76, of Eatontown died April 30 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. She was born in Camden. Mrs. Frederick was a medical records clerk at Bayshore community Hospital, Holmdel, before her retirement. She volunteered at the Senior Citizens Activities Network (SCAN), Eatontown, the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey, Red Bank, and the Monmouth County Board of Elections. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, walking, and needlepoint. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Harry Frederick, in 1961; a son, Russell Harry Frederick Jr., in 1996; and her brother, Donald Leinbach. Mrs. Frederick is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Robin Frederick of Eatontown; a daughter-in-law, Gail B. Frederick; two daughters and one son-in-law, Gail Wilson of Ocean, and Susan and Carlos Gaspar of Clark; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 1540 W. Park Ave., Tinton Falls 07724; or the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater N.J. Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Denville 07834-1365.

CAROLINE REAMER, 96, of Red Bank died April 18 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. She was born in New York City, N.Y., and lived in Keyport most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Reamer, in 1967. Surviving are a son, Joseph B. Reamer of Middletown; a daughter, Theresa MacIsaac of Red Bank; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, followed by burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Middletown.

MARY JANE ROEMER, 90, of Red Bank died April 9 at Navesink House, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived there and in Middletown before moving to Red Bank seven years ago. Mrs. Roemer was a teacher at the Brooklyn Diocese for more than 20 years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She also was involved in the communities of her residence, Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, and Navesink House. Mrs. Roemer was predeceased by her brother, Andrew Dalton. She is survived by her son, Frederick J. Roemer of Rumson; her sister, Rose Ann Nicoletti of Lynbrook, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery Mausoleum, Fairfield.

JOSEPH STORES SR., 83, of Sayreville died April 14 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his re­tirement in 1980, he was employed as a chemical operator with Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, where he worked for 42 years. His wife, Mariethel Latham Stores, died in 1988, and a daughter, Ruth Stores, died in 1999. Surviving are a son, Joseph Stores Jr. of Sayreville; two daughters, Daryl Hoffman of Middletown and Dawn Golembieski of Sayreville; four sisters, Mary Pence of Lakeland, Fla., Claire Reilly of South Amboy, Joan Kirk of Sayreville and Peggy Rusin of Warren; several nieces and nephews; and eight grandchildren. A liturgy of the word was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

EVELYN WILSON of Freehold Township died March 29 at Avante at Red Bank Care Center, Red Bank. Born in Linden, she lived in Matawan before moving to Freehold 37 years ago. She is survived by her husband, Charles, of Freehold Township; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Kelly Wilson of New Milford, Conn.; two sisters, Dorothy Hultfeldt of Springhill, Fla., and Mary Ann Taylor of New Jersey. Entombment was at Atlantic View Cemetery, Brielle.

SANTIAGO POUSO, 86, of Red Bank died Feb. 28 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Puebla De Caraminal, Spain, he had been a resident of Red Bank since 1963. Mr. Pouso owned and operated Shrewsbury Exxon for 25 years before his retirement. He served with the Spanish Navy for 18 years, retiring as an officer. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. His activities included spending time with his family, sailing, swimming, reading, and travel to Spain. He was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Pouso is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rose Toscano Pouso; two sons, James A. and Linda M. Pouso of Shrewsbury, and John and Kathleen A. Pouso of Little Silver; his daughter, Mariann Pouso of Tinton Falls; his grandson; two granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 19 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset 08873.

ANNA C. PETRILLO, 86, of Tuckerton died March 8. Born in Newark, she resided in Middletown for 30 years before moving to Tuckerton three years ago. Mrs. Petrillo was a retired security guard for Wackenhut Industries and AT&T, Lincroft section of Middletown. Prior to that, she was a payroll administrator at Two Guys department store, Middletown, for 15 years, retiring in 1983. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Mrs. Petrillo is survived by two daughters, Millicent Guzzi of Long Branch and Barbara Lorch of Tuckerton; two brothers, Jules Caprio of Florida and Michael Caprio of Red Bank; three sisters, Jay Grassgreen and Gloria Ruglio, both of North Jersey, and Thelma Spatola of the Leonardo section of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, followed by interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Jason’s Dreams for Kids, 20 Monmouth St., Red Bank 07701.

DOROTHY D. DIXON OCHES, 79, of Middletown died March 4 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Union, she had been a Middletown resident since 1941. Mrs. Oches was a retired cashier at ShopRite, Middletown. Prior to that, she worked at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, and Bendix Corp., Red Bank. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown, where she was also a former member of the Altar Rosary Society. Her activities included spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Dixon. Mrs. Oches is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harold Oches of Middletown; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert J. and Joanne Oches, and Steven A. and Janet Oches, all of Middletown, and Thomas J. and Barbara Oches of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy D. and Bill Miller of Fair Haven, and Kathy A. and Mike Roberts of Middletown; her sister-in-law, Nancy Dixon Williams of Monroe, N.C.; and 11 grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

JEAN O. BAECHTLE, 83, of Union Beach died March 5 at home following a long illness. Born in Newark, she resided in Union, Hillside and Red Bank before moving to Union Beach to live with her daughter’s family. She was employed at Bristol-Myers Squibb for more than 40 years. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen J. and James P. McGuinness of Union Beach; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Memorial donations may be made to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, 501 Front St., Norfolk, VA 23510.
