NICHOLAS J. CHRISICOS, 85, of West Long Branch, died Aug. 5 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York City. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of the shore area. He was an educator at Plainfield High School for 25 years, retiring in 1980. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, participating in the Battle of the Bulge, and also received the Silver Star. He was a member and parish council member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Asbury Park. He was a member of American Legion Hellenic Post No. 440, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Long Branch, and the N.J. Education Association. He also served as president and district governor of New Jersey Order of Ahepa. He is survived by his wife, Esther G. Argyris Chrisicos of West Long Branch; his sister and brother-in-law, Cecelia and Nick Vloyanetes of Long Branch; and several nieces and nephews. Services were at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Asbury Park. Interment was at St. George Cemetery, Neptune. Memorial donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 700 Grand Ave., Asbury Park 07712; or Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., Long Branch 07749.

HAROLD J. HAYTKO, 61, of Sayreville, died Aug. 6 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Bayonne prior to moving to Sayreville 26 years ago. He was an auto mechanic at Eastern Airlines, Newark, for 24 years, retiring in 1996. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959-63. He was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. He is survived by his wife, Mary DiStaso Haytko of Sayreville; his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph M. and Sharon Haytko of Newfoundland, Pa.; his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jean and Louis Olcsvay of Milltown; his brother, William Haytko of Long Branch; two sisters, Annamae Crawford of Long Branch, and Beatrice Hynson of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. Entombment was at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, South Amboy.

TERESA M. JOHNSON HOLMGREN, 76, of Eatontown, died Aug. 6 at St. Barnabas Hospice, Long Branch. Born in Jim Thorpe, Pa., she resided in Pennsylvania prior to moving to Eatontown in 1944. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. She was a member of the Eatontown First Aid Squad and Eatontown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by three sisters, Ellen Johnson, Jean Maro and Elizabeth Boone; and two brothers, Henry Johnson and Bernard Johnson Jr. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Frank A. Holmgren of Eatontown; her son and daughter-in-law, Frank A. and Pamela Holmgren Jr. of Neptune; her daughter and son-in-law, Jean L. and Robert Esposito of Neptune; her sister, Mary Lou Hebding of Fanwood; her mother-in-law, Alfreda Holmgren of Eatontown; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Memorial donations may be made to St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, 240 Broad St., Eatontown 07724; or St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Sec­ond Ave., Long Branch 07740.

BARBARA J. DOLAN PRESCOTT, 54, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge died Aug. 6 at Bayshore Com­munity Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of Laurence Harbor. She was a picker and packer at L’Oreal, Dayton section of South Brunswick. She was prede­ceased by her mother, Eleanor Rogers Dolan in 1995. She is survived by her father, Raymond Dolan of Ha­zlet; her husband, Edward W. Prescott Sr. of Lau­rence Harbor; her son, Ed­ward W. Prescott Jr.; her sister, Eleanor Dolan of the West Keansburg sec­tion of Hazlet; her brother and sister-in-law, Ray­mond and Eileen Dolan Jr. of Howell; two grand­children; and three nieces.

ALFRED D. CIAMPOLI, 79, of Red Bank, died Aug. 11 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Red Bank for several years. He was a bakery driver at Baldan­za’s Bakery, Long Branch, for more than 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was a member of Local No. 194, Union. He was predeceased by a daughter, Rose Ciampoli, and two brothers, John and Anthony Ciampoli. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby E. Bradley Ciampoli of Red Bank; two sons, Alfred D. Ciampoli and Joseph M. Ciampoli, both Red Bank; two daughters, Barbara Lopez of Highlands, and Peggy Schultz of Jack­son; two brothers, Gerald Ciampoli of Red Bank, and Harold Ciampoli of Jersey City; nine grand­children; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, Red Bank Chapter, 28 Mon­roe Ave., Shrewsbury 07702.

ROSE M. GARCIA DI GUGLIELMO, 88, of Weeki Wachee, Fla., and formerly Long Branch, died Aug. 9 at Forest Oaks Assisted Living Cen­ter, Spring Hill, Fla. Born in Red Bank, she resided in Eatontown and Long Branch prior to moving to Weeki Wachee seven years ago. She was a retired seamstress with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union Local 105. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Garcia; and her second husband, Joseph Di Guglielmo. She is survived by her step-children, Nicholas Di Guglielmo of Weeki Wachee, Fla., and Frances Raczeck of Tinton Falls; four grandchildren; and one niece and nephew. In­terment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middle­town.

MARGARET McGREEVY, 50, of Middletown, died Aug. 9 at Laurel Bay Health & Rehabilitation Center, Keansburg. Born in Newark, she resided there prior to moving to Middletown several years ago. She was a bus driver at Shamrock Bus Com­pany, Keansburg, retiring six years ago. Prior to that, she was a bus driver at Michael Loori Bus Company, Middletown, for 10 years. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown, where she also coached cheerleading and was a bingo volunteer. She was predeceased by her father, George J. McGreevy. She is survived by her son and daughter, Shawn M. and Bridgid A. Nelson, both of Middletown; her mother, Margaret T. McGreevy of Middletown; three sisters, Kathleen McGreevy of South River, and Patricia Goodbody and Barbara Oliver, both Middletown; and her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Rose McGreevy of Middletown. A fu­neral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Middletown.

NICHOLAS DOMINICK STANGO, 90, of West Long Branch died July 14 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Born in Newark, he lived in West Long Branch since 1989. He was a mutual clerk at the Meadowlands for five years, retiring in 1981, and was the proprietor of Stango Brothers, Newark, for 29 years, retiring in 1976. He was a parishioner of St. Lucy’s Roman Catholic Church, Newark. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine Travisano Stango, in 1993. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Maryann and Willie Smeriglio of West Long Branch; his son, Ralph Stango of Bradley Beach; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Entombment was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Memorial donations may be made to St. Barnabas Hospice Center, 300 Second Ave., CW6, Long Branch 07740.

RUDOLPH G. ESANDRIO, 91, of Long Branch died July 17 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in Newark prior to moving to Long Branch 30 years ago. He was a mechanical inspector at Bendix Corp. for 30 years, retiring 25 years ago. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Long Branch. He was a member of the Long Branch Elks, Lodge No. 742. He is survived by his wife, Ann Ventrola Esandrio of Long Branch; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Maryann Esandrio of Sayreville; his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and William Hall of Indiana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

JOYCE H. BRERETON, 79, of Freehold Township died July 15 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Spring Lake, she had lived in Red Bank before relocating to Freehold Township more than 50 years ago. Mrs. Brereton was a secretary for the YMCA, Freehold Township, for 10 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Colts Neck Reformed Church, Colts Neck, and the American Association of Retired Persons. She was a volunteer at CentraState Medial Center, Freehold Township, and was a Red Cross nurse’s aide during World War II. She also was an organist at the Shrewsbury Reformed Church for many years. Mrs. Brereton was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Brereton; a daughter, Joyce Susan Brereton; a brother, Harry K. Estelle; and a sister, Marjorie Schmidt. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas H. and Cindy Brereton of Freehold Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan J. and Jack Coffey of Freehold Township; a sister, Barbara Menzel of Eatontown; and three grandchildren. Interment took place at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.
