RUDNICKA - Helena, died Aug. 17, 1999, in Point Pleasant Hospital, at age 84, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Helena (Rabcewicz) Rudnicka graduated from the Polish School of Midwives. She was a registered nurse in Brzesc Nad Bugem, mobilized by the Polish Army, where she worked in a field hospital. She came to the United States in 1948 and worked 25 years at Ellis and St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. She was a member of the Polish Army Veteran's Association, the Polish National Alliance, Polish Cultural Foundation, Polish Children's Heartline, Jersey Shore Polish American Association. In 1993, Helena was awarded the Military Decoration of the Battle Cross of the Polish Armed Forces in the West. She is the only female recipient of this award as a registered nurse, serving in France and England during World War II. Helena also received the Polish Defense of War Medal in September, 1939, the Silver Cross of Merit, Silver Treasury Medal and Haller's Swords. Helena's personal accomplishments also include her talented artwork and gardening, but her greatest attribute was her kindness and compassion. Helena is preceded in death by her daughter, Christine (1956-1981). Helena is survived by her beloved husband, Richard, whom she married in August, 1940, in London, England, her loving children, son, Edward, three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Kenneth Crabb of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Jadwiga and Roger Siara of Florham Park, N.J., Marie and Robert and Castiglia of Albany, N.Y., six grandchildren, David R. Capan of Pittsburgh, Pa., Richard M. Capan of Belleville, Ill., Steven F. Capan of Randolph, N.J., Stephen and Krystyna Siara of Florham Park, N.J., and Christina Castiglia of Albany, N.Y. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Heather, David III, Zachary and Emily Capan. Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, at VAN HISE & CALLAGAN LEBER FUNERAL HOME, 812 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. 08742. A Solemn Mass will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, 1999, at 8 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 406 Norman Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. Interment will be held at St. Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, Pa., at 1 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.

STEVENSON - John J., of Bloomfield, formerly of Montclair, on August 16, 1999, husband of Eleanor, father of Peter, Laurie Stevenson Schragen, Jeanne Stevenson and Donna Stevenson Knight, also survived by a brother Frank and eight grandchildren. Funeral from The HUGH M. MORIARTY FUNERAL HOME, 76 Park St., Montclair, on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. then to Immaculate Conception Church, Montclair, where at 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visiting hours 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund at 30 North Fullerton Ave., Montclair, N.J. 07042, or the Alzheimer's Association, 299 Cherry Hill Rd., Parsippany, N.J. 07054.

RALPH - Anne E., of Roselle, N.J., on Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, beloved daughter of Ann M. (Kelly) Ralph, loving granddaughter of Elizabeth de Boer, dear niece of Patricia Kelly, Margaret Williams and her husband, Guy. Private memorial services were held under the directions of The WERSON FUNERAL HOME, 635 N. Wood Ave., Linden. Memorials contributions may be made to Central Jersey Veterinary Emergency Services, 643 Lincoln Highway, Iselin, N.J. 08830, in her memory would be appreciated.

RICCI - James J. Jr., of Iselin, on Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, devoted husband of 50 years of the former Mary Jaskowski, beloved fa- ther of Edward W. Zebrowski, loving brother of Catherine Clemintone, Lucy Gonnella, Louise Piano, Christina Frieri, Carol Ann Bramick and the late Felix Ricci. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, at 9:15 a.m. at The GOSSELIN FUNERAL HOME, 660 New Dover Rd., Edison, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Cecelia's R.C. Church, Iselin.
