George F. Kondrup

Mr. Kondrup, 91, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Aug. 26, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he was a lifelong resident of Middletown. He was employed at Charles J. Hesse for 49 years, retiring in 1985. He served with the U.S. Army as a technical sergeant with the 1st Battalion, 165th Infantry, during World War II. He received a Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star and Purple Heart for heroic duty in the South Pacific. He was a member of St. George's-by-the-River Episcopal Church, Rumson. He was a member of Local 825 Operating Engineers. He was a volunteer fireman for Middletown Township Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His wife, Mary, died Sept. 1, 2007, at age 90. He is survived by two brothers, John and Adolph Jr., both of Rumson; two sisters, Grace of Rumson, and Vera of the Locust section of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Jorge Lopes Sr. of Colts Neck; a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Meredith Kondrup of Tinton Falls; and seven grandchildren. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral liturgy was at St. George's Church. Burial followed at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

Mary Theresa Puglisi Kondrup

Mrs. Kondrup, 90, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Sept. 1, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Red Bank, she resided in Keansburg prior to relocating to Middletown 59 years ago. She was a seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of St. George's by-the-River Episcopal Church, Rumson. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and Atlantic City. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, George F. Kondrup. She is survived by a son and daughter-inlaw, Edward and Meredith Kondrup of Tinton Falls; a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne and Jorge Lopes Sr. of Colts Neck; a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Rita Puglisi of Keansburg; a sister, Sally Helwig of the West Keansburg section of Hazlet; a sister-in-law, Dolores Puglisi of Belford; and seven grandchildren. Arrangements wre by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be held Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. at St. George's Church. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

Veronica "Ronnie" Murphy Goodnough

Mrs. Goodnough of Rumson died Aug. 2, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a secretary at the real estate and insurance office of Dennis K. Byrne, Rumson. During World War II, she received a Certificate of Service from the United Service Organization (U.S.O.). She was a communicant of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson. She served on Rumson's election board several years and was a lifelong member of Rumson's Woman's Club. She enjoyed the beach and dancing. She was predeceased by her husband, Rex E. Goodnough; a son, Gregory Rex Goodnough; and a sister, Marie Murphy. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Veronica and Daniel Coviello of Delaware, Corky and James Johnson of Little Silver, and Pamela and David Waybright of Oceanport; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John J. and Helen Murphy of the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township, and Dr. Arthur F. Murphy, with whom she resided; a sister-in-law, Jane Murphy of Rumson; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Cross Church. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.

Dorothy Sullivan Coscia

Mrs. Coscia, 76, of Atlantic Highlands, died Aug. 17, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she resided there prior to relocating to Atlantic Highlands in 1969. She was a wardrobe supervisor at Joffrey Ballet Company, New York City, for more than 30 years, retiring 12 years ago. She was a member of the Theatrical Wardrobe Union Local 764, New York City. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack in 1968. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Ann Coscia of Red Bank; two daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene and Jules Mayeur of Montross, Va., and Cathy and Ron Lynch of Highlands; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.

Marion Alcaro Manzi

Mrs. Manzi, 73, of Long Branch, died Aug. 24, 2007, at home. Born in Girafalco, Italy, she was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic church, Long Branch. She is survived by her husband, Michael "Spanky" Manzi; a son and daughter in-law, Louis M. and Patti Manzi of Oceanport; two daughters, Cheryl Gervolino of West Long Branch, and Toni Baillie of Long Branch; a sister, Antoinette Manno of West Long Branch; her motherin law, Josephine Manzi of Long Branch; and six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church. Interment was at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

Evelyn L. Mullen

Mrs. Mullen, 82, of Eatontown died Aug. 26, 2007, at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Jersey City, she resided in West Long Branch prior to relocating to Eatontown a year ago. She was a communicant of St Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End section of Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband Harold, and a daughter Evelyn Mitchell Bryan. She is survived by a son Harold Mullen of North Carolina; a daughter, Catherine Jankowski of Bath, Pa; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. Burial was at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

John Preis Nitchie

Mr. Nitchie, 37, of Keyport, died Aug. 14, 2007, at home. Born in Summit, he had resided in Sarasota, Fla., and Middletown before moving to Keyport two years ago. Mr. Nitchie was an aircraft mechanic at Lakehurst Naval Air Station. He is survived by his mother and her husband, Edie and Paul Skerl of Ocean, and his maternal grandmother, Irmgard Preis of Bridgewater. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Memorial donations may be made to the Monmouth County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, P.O. Box 93, Eatontown 07724.

Gladys B. Guillaudeu

Mrs. Guillaudeu, 92, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Aug. 25, 2007, at home. Born in Colts Neck, she resided in Holmdel prior to relocating to Belford 73 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Middletown Reformed Church, and a former member of the church choir. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd O. Guillaudeu Sr. in 1980. She is survived by a son, Floyd O. Guillaudeu Jr. of Middletown. Visitation will be Aug. 29 from 2- 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. A funeral service will be Aug. 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a service at 10:30 a.m. at Middletown Reformed Church. Burial will follow at Shoreland Memorial Park, Hazlet.
