TRENTON -- Gertrude Hickson Hamilton, 77, died Friday at home.
Born in Lake City, S.C., she lived in Trenton 56 years.
She retired in 1985 after 10 years with Trenton Psychiatric Hospital.
She was a member of Wayne Avenue Baptist Church and its Pastor's Aide Auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, John and James Barnes of Philadelphia, Robert of Trenton, and Gary of New York; three daughters, Jean Hamilton-Wilkins of Virginia, Geraldine Jackson-Lewis of Trenton, and Ranartha Jackson of New York; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; cousins; and friends.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Wayne Avenue Baptist Church, 30 Wayne Avenue, with the Rev. Nathaniel Benjamin Jr., pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. until service begins Friday at the church.
Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel.

Joseph L. Glover Sr.
11/10/99
TRENTON -- Joseph L. Glover Sr., 69, died Saturday at St. Francis Medical Center.
Born and educated in Hobe Sound, Fla., he lived in Trenton for 50 years.
He was a stockman for 30 years with General Motors Fisher Body Plant, Ewing.
Mr. Glover was the owner of the former G & G Bar for 35 years and the Bamboo Club.
He was a member of Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church since 1951 and served on its deacon board and the Friendly 12. He was also a member of Trenton Golf Club.
Son of the late Samuel and Mary Lou Glover, he is survived by his wife, Willeeni Glover; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph L. Jr. and Orvilla Glover of Tabernacle and Milton L. of Ewing; two daughters, Gwendolyn and Helen Glover of Trenton; three sisters, Shirley and Dilsia Glover and Lula Calderon; and a brother, Arthur, all of Hobe Sound, Fla.; six grandchildren, Trumaine, Michael and April Glover, Dwayne Jackson, Helen and Brandon Glover; three godchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church, 66 Race St., with Elder Clemson Leach, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until service Friday at the church.
Arrangements are by Anderson Funeral Service.

Walter M. Maziarz
TRENTON -- Walter M. Maziarz, 84, died Wednesday at Capital Health System at Fuld hospital.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident.
He retired in 1974 after 25 years with General Motors Inland Fisher Guide plant, Ewing. He was a member of American Legion North Trenton Post 458, Polish Falcons Nest 59, United Auto Workers Local 731, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans chapters 28 and 62.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 39th Infantry, 9th Division, and fighting in the battles of Algeria-French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily and Naples-Foggia. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
Son of the late Michael and Mary Warchol Maziarz, husband of the late Hedwig "Edna" F. Krogulski Maziarz, father of the late Carol A. Maziarz Sudol and brother of the late Stanley Maziarz, Jean Silvers and Sophie Stanik, he is survived by two sisters, Stephanie Blazejewski of Lambertville and Dorothy Sawchuk of South River; a son-in-law, Richard A. Sudol of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Mark and Paul Sudol of Hamilton, and Tracy Schurter of Burlington; and six nephews and six nieces.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Arcadius Klejnowski officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hamilton.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel, with American Legion service 7:30 p.m.
The family prefers Mass cards.

Stephen H. Piotrowski
HAMILTON -- Stephen H. Piotrowski, 97, died Wednesday at Mercerville Convalescent and Care Center, Mercerville.
Born in Poland, he came to the United States in 1903. He lived in Trenton and Hamilton.
He retired in 1969 after 29 years at General Motors Fisher Body Division, Ewing. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 731 and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Son of the late Martin and Victoria Waszak Piotrowski, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Natalie Piotrowski of Levittown, Pa., and Fred and Jane Piotrowski of Oriental, N.C.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Theresa Piotrowski of Trenton and Joan and Stephen Renn of Beach Haven; three sisters, Anne Nadolny of Hamilton, Cecilia Spriggs of Archie, Miss., and Josephine Konoski of Elizabeth; six grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.
Funeral will be 9:45 a.m. Friday at Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty streets.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Church of the Holy Cross, with Monsignor Edward Arnister officiating.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mary Emma Ward
11/11/99
AUSTIN, Texas 77, died Nov. 3 at home.
Born in Princeton, she was a longtime resident before moving to Austin in 1979.
While living in Princeton, she was very active in parent-teacher organizations. She helped support a scholarship, named after her parents, awarded to Princeton Regional High School graduates.
Daughter of the late Leon and Ethelyn Allison, sister of the late Leon O. Allison and mother of the late James E. Ward II, she is survived by her husband, James Ward of Austin; a son, Ronald Ward of Boston; four sisters, Frances and Harriet Allison of Princeton, Ethelyn Allison of Monroe and Marguerite Taylor of Mesquite, Texas; four brothers-in-law, Roosevelt Taylor of Mesquite, Texas, Thomas and William Ward of Compton, Calif., and Wendell Ward of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four sisters-in-law, Grace Allison of Yardley, Pa., Ann Allison of Aiken, S.C., Maxine Ward of Oklahoma City, and Edith Ward of Compton, Calif.; two daughters-in-law, Wanda Ward of Boston and Danita Ward of East Windsor; a granddaughter, Britney Ward of East Windsor; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church, 124 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.

Francesca Sciarrotta
11/11/99
PALERMO, Italy -- Francesca Alfano Sciarrotta, 93, died Sunday at home.
Born in Castatermini, Italy, she lived in Palermo the last 45 years.
Wife of the late Salvatore Sciarrotta, she is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Pietro and Maria Sciarrotta of Italy, Francesco and Alicia Sciarrotta of Australia, Giuseppe and Mimi Sciarrotta of Trenton, and Gaetano and Vincenza Sciarrotta of Italy; four daughters and a son-in-law, Rosina Sciarrotta Drego of Trenton, Carmela Sciarrotta LoBue of Italy, Josephine Sciarrotta of Italy, and Rita and Nino Ferugua of Italy; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was in Palermo.

Geraldine Saunders
11/11/99
NEW YORK -- Geraldine Poor Saunders, also known as India DuBois, 52, died Saturday at Calvary Hospital, Bronx.
Born in Salem, Mass., she lived in the Pennington and Princeton areas more than 25 years.
A poet, singer and writer, she attended Princeton University and graduated from Cornell and Columbia universities. She was a member of Witherspoon Presbyterian Church, Princeton.
She is survived by two daughters, Autumn Saunders of Seattle, and Nyla Saunders of Brooklyn; her parents, George and Gladys Poor of Marblehead, Mass.; three sisters, Jean Burden of New York City, Sally Beck of Belgrade, Maine, and Susan Poor of Marblehead, Mass; and a grandson, Julian Saunders.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Witherspoon Presbyterian Church, 124 Witherspoon St., Princeton, with the Rev. John White officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Foundation for Breast Cancer, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 370, Dallas, Texas 75244.
Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.
