ELIZABETH A. WILSON SCHEIDEGG, 69, of Brick died Oct. 30, 2002 in Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was a homemaker. She loved fishing and making ceramics. She attended college at Tulane University, New Orleans, for three years. Born in New Orleans, she lived in Edison before moving to Brick eight years ago. She was predeceased by a daughter, Annette Ivan in 1997. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Richard Scheidegg; a daughter, Susanne Homeny of Plumsted; a sister, Jane Burchett of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

PETER L. AIELLO, 87, of Brick died Oct. 31, 2002 in Montclair Hospital, Birmingham, Ala. He was a dredger with Local 25, Operating Engineers, for many years before retiring 25 years ago. He was a painter for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad in Weehawkin for 15 years before joining the Operating Engineers Union. He was a member of the Italian American Club, Lakewood, and a member of St. Dominic’s Church, Brick. Born in Bayonne, he lived in Jersey City before moving to Brick in 1959. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Pellegrino, in 1998. Surviving are two sons, Richard of Pinson, Ala., and Peter of Brick; a daughter, Genevieve Hand of Brick; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

LOUIS DeKANY, 59, of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Brick died Nov. 1 at home. He was a plumber with the Plumbers Union Local 24 of Springfield before retiring four years ago. Born in Kearny, he lived there and in West Milford and Brick, before moving to Hudson four years ago. Surviving are his wife, Bernadette LaFrance DeKany; a son, Louis of New Port Richie, Fla.; a daughter, Rene Walsh of Brick; two brothers, Richard of Hilton Head, S.C., and Donald of Wayne; and five grandchildren. Services were held at Armitage Funeral Home, Wall. Interment was in Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan.

EDWARD KRANK, 84, of Brick died Nov. 2, 2002 in the Medical Center of Ocean County, Brick. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was active in basketball, baseball and golf throughout his life, and signed contracts with farm clubs of the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers. He later managed rookie teams to league championships. Surviving are his wife, Anne Krank; and a daughter, Marianne Krank, both of Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Visitation Church, Brick. Interment was in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

RAYMOND B. ROHLFS, 87, of Brick died Nov. 2, 2002 in Shorrock Gardens Care Center, Brick. He was a machine operator for General Motors in Harrison for 30 years before retiring in 1967. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1941. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Wood-Ridge before moving to Brick. He was predeceased by his companion, Elsie McLaughlin. Surviving are a niece, Helen Randall of Hasbrouck Heights, and her three children. Interment was private.

DORIS B. PERRINE, 89, of the Tennent section of Manalapan, died Nov. 5, 2002 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Freehold, she had been a resident of Tennent for the past 66 years. Mrs. Perrine was a 50-year member of Old Tennent Presbyterian Church, Tennent. She was predeceased by her husband, Duncan, in 1992. Surviving are a son, David D. of Shamong; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn E. and Ed Farrell of Brick, and Diane and Bob Cain of Millstone Township; and four grandchildren. The funeral service was held at Old Tennent Church, followed by interment in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.

ANN THERESA McNAMARA, 79, of Manalapan, died Nov. 7, 2002 at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Manalapan in 1967. She was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro, and a member of the church’s Altar Rosary Society. Mrs. McNamara is survived by her husband, Martin; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Karen of Hopatcong; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Jimmy Lewis of Howell, and Eileen and Dennis D’Andrea of Brick; five grandchildren and three nieces. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Church, followed by entombment at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, Marlboro. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville 07834-1365.

DOROTHY PAWLYK HURLEY, 71, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died Nov. 1, 2002 in Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Prior to her retirement several years ago, she was employed for 15 years as a fine jewelry salesperson at J.C. Penney Co. Inc., East Brunswick. Her husband, Donald Hurley, died in 1997. Surviving are four daughters, Colleen Hurley of Jersey City, Linda Flynn of Edison, Donna Hurley of Westminster, Colo., and Dorothea Bongiovi of Red Bank; three sisters, Lillian Sullivan of Vero Beach, Fla., Helen Wyckoff of Brick and Olga Farozic of Berlin, Md.; and eight grandchildren. Services were held at Kurzawa Funeral Home, Sayreville. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, 65 James St., Edison, NJ 08818.
