STATEN ISLAND, NY - Anna Tarquino, of Staten Island, NY, died on Monday, December 24, 2012 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Funeral Services and Interment are under the direction of the Meislohn-Silvie Funeral Home, 1289 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10302, Telephone: (718) 442-9047.

Local arrangements are by the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.

Colleen E. O'Connor

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Colleen E. O'Connor, age 61 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her home.

Born February 2, 1951, daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Wilson O'Connor, she had resided in the area for the past fourteen years.

A communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ, she had worked as a Project Manager for AT&T; in Bedminster, NJ for thirty years.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Dennis O'Connor.

Colleen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of ten years, Peter O. Strand.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 1050, Washington, DC 20005.

Harold L. Verity

WINTER SPRINGS, FL - Harold L. Verity, age 90 years, of Winter Springs, Florida, and a former longtime Hunterdon County resident, died Friday, November 30, 2012, at his home in Florida.

Born July 23, 1922 in Neshanic Station, New Jersey to the late Milton Verity Sr. and Charlotte Slover Verity, went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2012.

Hal grew up in Neshanic Station and Belle Mead, New Jersey.

Hal served in the Navy in the European Theatre aboard an LST in World War II. He married his wife Frances (Fran) Dec. 24, 1944 and after the war he and Fran resided in Clinton and Rosemont. He was a dairy farmer and manager for Mulhocaway Guernsey Farm in Clinton and a realtor for Weichert Realtors. Hal and Fran moved to Homosassa, FL in 1998.

He is predeceased by his wife, Frances "Fran" Barrick Verity, their daughter Nancy Eileen Verity, great grandson Christian Michael, a sister Ruth Smith and brothers; Walter Verity and Milton Verity, Jr.

Hal is survived by his wife Gale Archer Verity; a son Dennis Harold Verity and wife Bonnie; a daughter Janet Verity Tremaine and husband Kenneth Tremaine: grandchildren; Kristin, Kurt and Michael Hoffmann and Andy Michael and Christina Tremaine; great grandchildren; Landon Britton, Jaden, Parker, Kendall and Caleb Hoffmann and Brooke Michael; three sisters, Helen Smith, Charlotte Kreitler and Joyce Kuster; two step-children, Cliff Kemp and Katherine Wattwood, and four step-grandchildren; Kristen, Keri and Hannah Kemp and Philip Wattwood.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 11 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Private burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be held from 10 AM until time of service in the funeral home.

Barbara A. Bauman

ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP, NJ - Barbara A. Bauman, age 65 years, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Trenton, NJ, August 1, 1947, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Young Dilts.

She enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.

Her husband of forty-three years, Charles J. Bauman, died May 3, 2012, and she was also pre-deceased by a brother, Russell Dilts. Surviving are three daughters, Michelle Hallman of Easton, PA, Tonya Gruchacz of Flemington, NJ, and Cheri Taylor of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Kathleen Bush, of Flemington, NJ; and seven grandchildren: Patrick Taylor, Griffin Taylor, David Hallman, Jr., Stephanie Hallman, Daniel Hallman, Brooke Gruchacz and T.J. Gruchacz.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10:30 AM until time of service in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the USO, Department WS, PO Box 96860, Washington, DC 20090-6860.

Byron E. Provines

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Byron E. Provines, age 77 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, formerly of Hudson, MA, died on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, in Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Springfield, IL, August 24, 1935, he was the son of the late Byron and Idell Provines.

He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are three sons, Chris Provines of Pittstown, NJ, Steve Provines of Palm City, FL, and Scott Provines of Tinton Falls, NJ; a daughter, Heidi Carius, of Pequannock, NJ; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.

Judith A. Lance-Lannigan

FLEMINGTON, NJ - Judith A. Lance-Lannigan, age 57 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Somerville, NJ, August 27, 1955, daughter of Dorrance Lance of Alloway, NJ, and the late Patricia Lance, she had resided in Whitehouse, NJ, and in Flemington, NJ, all her life.

Among her survivors, in addition to her father, are a son, William Lannigan of Frenchtown, NJ; two brothers, Daniel Lance of Alloway, NJ, and Thomas Lance of Pen Argyl, Pa.; and a sister, Kristine Lance of Flemington, NJ.

Arrangements are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.

Madelyn F. Maak

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - Madelyn F. Maak, age 87 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Old Orchard Care Center, Easton, PA.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, April 8, 1925, daughter of the late Frank and Lena Riedel Fernau, she had formerly resided in Harmony Township, NJ, Flemington, NJ and Spring Hill, FL before moving to Easton in 2008.

An employee for over thirty years of Franklin Township, Somerset County, NJ, she first was employed by the Health Department, then worked in the Zoning Board office and finally moved to the Clerks Office where she served as Municipal Clerk of the Township.

She was a member of the New Jersey State Clerks Association; a member of the Somerset Post of the American Legion Auxiliary; and was formerly active at the Hunterdon County Senior Center.

Her husband, John R. Maak, Sr., died in 1997. She was also pre-deceased by a son, John R. Maak, Jr. and a sister, Veronica Lehto, both in 2011.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela M. and Edward J. Barabas of Raritan Township, NJ; a son, Michael J. Maak of Somerville, NJ; a sister, Delores Bartolo of Spring Hill, FL; seven grandchildren, Jessica Peterson, John R. Maak, III, Laura Maak, Jade Maak, Scott E. Barabas and his fiancée Jennifer Weadon, Christopher J. Barabas and wife Serena, and Matthew J. Barabas; five great granddaughters and one great grandson.

Funeral Services will take place on Thursday at 8:00 p.m in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be Private in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
