She was a member of Ewing Presbyterian Church and served as Christian Education director for several years. Perhaps her favorite volunteering experience came late in life, when she spent two years working several days a week as an aide in a first grade classroom. A "memory book" created by the class included a page written by a student saying "We remember that she loved us." Working with the children and teacher gave her great joy and satisfaction.

A faithful reader of The New York Times all her life, her interest in current events and politics led her to participate in an online election year project, "I Waited 96 Years!", a collection of thoughts about voting from women born before the 19th amendment. Her story brought an interview request from Huffington Post, which she was pleased to do. https://www.iwaited96years.com/edith

With her husband Ray, Edith was an avid gardener with a super green thumb. Flowers, herbs and vegetables were all at home in her garden and her family enjoyed home grown vegetables long before it became a popular trend. She encouraged others to garden, sharing plants and knowledge, and worked in her garden into her 90s. Her home was not complete without a dog.

Edith is survived by her loving daughters Judy Spotto (husband Peter), Sally (partner Cheryl Thomas), Mary Trigg (husband Bill) and Sue Hill, her cherished grandchildren Daniel Spotto (wife Susan), James Spotto (wife Leigh Van Duzer), Edward Hill 4th, Dorothy Trigg, Sarah Trigg, much loved great grandson Arthur and six nieces and nephews.

Box 2244, Princeton, NJ 08543 or NAMI Mercer NJ (National Alliance on Mental Illness), 3371 Brunswick Pike, Suite 124, Lawrenceville, NJ. 08648 http://www.namimercer.org/.
