HYATT P. CUNNINGHAM, 49, of Sea Bright, died Jan. 25 at Houston Medical Center, Texas, from injuries sustained in an incident while traveling cross-country. Born in Red Bank, he lived in California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Connecticut before relocating in New Jersey. He was self-employed at various occupations which included importing seafood, real estate and building. He also enjoyed cooking, sports, boating and gardening. He was predeceased by his father former Red Bank Register sports editor, Hyatt E. Cunningham; and his wife, Patricia Healy. He is survived by his mother, Margaret L. "Pete" Cunningham Smith of Sea Bright; two daughters, Cherie Kimberly Cunningham of New Brunswick, and Christina Renee Cunningham of Oak Hill, Fla.; three brothers, Hollis Jackson Lowe Jr. of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Bruce David Lowe of the Locust section of Middletown, and Charles Lance Cunningham of Sea Bright; his beloved Olga Ternnova of Siberia; three nieces; and four nephews. Services are arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Visitation will be tonight from 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, River Road, Rumson.

DONALD C. LIPPERT, 72, of Middletown died Jan. 12 at Jersey Shore Rehabilitation Center, Eatontown. Born in Milwaukee, Wis., he previously lived in Oviedo, Fla., and Huntington, N.Y., before moving to Middletown 12 years ago. He was the general manager for B & N Service Station, Jamaica, N.Y., for several years before retiring. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Balducci Lippert; a son, Philip Lippert in 1995; and his parents, Philip and Mary Sander Lippert. He is survived by a son, Richard J. Lippert of Middletown; a daughter, Joann Sisto of Oviedo, Fla.; two sisters, Mary Ann Pennington of Pennsville, and Chee Chee Devlin of Pennsylvania; and six grandchildren. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Interment was at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, Fla.

JOSEPHINE "GELSUMINA" GUERRIERO, 88, of Hazlet died Jan. 16 at Regency Park Nursing Home, Hazlet. Born in Newark, she lived in Bloomfield prior to moving to Hazlet five years ago. She was a relief operator for Peerless Tube, Bloomfield, for 30 years and retired in 1977. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and JoAnne Guerriero of Hazlet; two granddaughters, Kristen Trumble of Tinton Falls, and Melissa Guerriero of Hazlet; and a grandson, Anthony M. Guerriero of Union Beach. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Burial was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

MARGARET "PEGGY" ALLAIRE MacDONALD JEFFERY, 66, of Red Bank, died Jan. 17 at New York University Hospital, N.Y. Born in Red Bank, she previously lived in Lincroft and resided in Red Bank the past 10 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member and active with the Sunday school choir of the First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank-Tower Hill, Red Bank. She was president of the Lincroft Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the founding family of Allaire State Park. Her activities included volunteering at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, and serving as president of the Coordinating Council of Middletown South High School. She was predeceased by her parents Robert G. and Margaret S. Sutton MacDonald. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Jeffery Sr. of Red Bank; two sons, Robert Jeffery Jr. of Freehold and Peter M. Jeffery of Millstone; two sisters, Roberta Braswell of Shrewsbury and JoAnn Smiley of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, with services at the First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank-Tower Hill. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, New Jersey Affiliate Inc., Vantage Court North, 200 Cottontail Lane, Somerset 08873; or the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902-4301.

VIRGINIA "GINNY" M. O’BOYLE, 57, of Middletown died Jan. 18 at Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Eatontown. Born in New York City, she lived in Flanders prior to moving to Middletown in 1983. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the Middletown Newcomers. She was predeceased by her brother, James Cunningham; and her parents, James and Anna Carroll Cunningham. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, John O’Boyle of Middletown; two sons, Devin M. and Cullen J. O’Boyle, both of Queens, N.Y.; a daughter, Colleen A. O’Boyle of San Diego, Calif.; and two sisters, Martha Maher and Kathleen Dunlop, both of Long Island, N.Y. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass was celebrated at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702.

VIRGINIA HENNESSY, 84, of Red Bank died Jan. 19 at home. Born in Hoboken, she lived in Rumson, prior to moving to Red Bank, in 1984. She worked for the Personnel Department at CECOM at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, for 20 years until retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Hennessy Jr. in 1993. She is survived by two sons, Paul A. Hennessy III of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Peter Hennessy of Tennessee; two daughters, Virginia Moss of Rumson, and Margaret H. Gibbons of Milton, Mass.; her sister, Betty Murphy of Hoboken; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, with a Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

JOSEPH P. MALONE, 86, of Fairfax, Va., died Jan. 22 in Fairfax. Born in Fair Haven, he resided in Shrewsbury before moving to Fairfax. He was deputy comptroller of the U.S. Army Command, Fort Monmouth, for 40 years and retired in 1981. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He received two Meritorious Civilian Service Awards, one in 1968 citing him for distinguished service as chief of the Financial Management Agency, and one in 1978 for outstanding contributions to the financial management of ECOM. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Malone; and his sister, Mary Malone Olsen. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Nathe of Oakton, Va., and Leigh Tomaszewski of Burke, Va.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, with a Mass at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

EDWARD LOUDON MINUGH JR., 77, of Middletown died Jan. 4 at home. He was born in Clifton Springs, N.Y. He was employed at Sears Roebuck and Co., Perth Amboy and Middletown, for 44 years, and retired in 1985. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, where he served as Pharmacist’s Mate 3rd Class in the Pacific Theater. He received the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bank, where he sang in the choir for more than 40 years. He was an avid naturalist and member of the New Jersey Audubon Society, Bernardsville. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Pauline Ella Smith Minugh; and his parents, Edward Loudon and Agnes Schaefer Minugh Sr. He is survived by his son, Paul Edward Minugh of Middletown; his daughter, Nancy Minugh-Purvis of Ambler, Pa.; his brother, Louis Edward Minugh of Carle Place, N.Y.; his sister, Jeanne Minugh Mullen of West Milford; and two grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Services were held at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Red Bank. MARGUERITE "MEG" G. CANDREA, 49, of Fair Haven died Jan. 5 at home. Born in Glen Ridge, she previously lived in Rumson; and Blauvelt and Delmar, N.Y., before moving to Fair Haven 16 years ago. She was a nursery school teacher for Tower Hill School, Red Bank, for nine years. She previously taught at Little Silver Point Road School, Little Silver, for two years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank-Tower Hill, Red Bank. She is survived by her husband, Ronald D. Candrea of Fair Haven; her son and two daughters, David A., Suzanne C. and Carolyn A. Candrea, all of Fair Haven; her parents, Clark H. and Cynthia Morgans Galloway of Delmar; and her brother, Stewart Galloway of Round Lake, N.Y. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A service was held at First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank-Tower Hill. Memorial donations may be made to Tower Hill School, 255 Harding Road, Red Bank 07701.

CHADWICK "CHAD" HENDRICKSON, 86, of West Grove, Pa., died Jan. 5. Born in Red Bank, he lived there until 1998 when he moved in with his granddaughter in West Grove. His occupations included manager of the Red Bank Dairy, Red Bank; bookkeeper for Kislin’s Department Store, Red Bank; and fireman for Monmouth Park Race Track, Oceanport. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of The Relief Engine Fire Company and the Red Bank First Aid Squad, both in Red Bank, since the early 1940s. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel Barber Hendrickson of Red Bank. He is survived by his daughter, Florence Hendrickson-Smith of West Grove; eight grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Relief Engine Fire Company, 11 Drummond Place, Red Bank 07701.

HARRIETT F. KOZTOWSKI, 83, of Middletown died Dec. 19 at home. Born in the Leonardo section of Middletown, she resided in Atlantic Highlands before moving to Middletown in 1967. She was an office administrator for McFarland Fire Prevention Co., New York City, retiring after 30 years. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank; as well as a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church choir, Atlantic Highlands. She was a member of the Riverview Medical Center Auxiliary, as well as a volunteer in the gift shop. She was a past president and member of the Red Bank Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 233 Women’s Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her brother, Stephen Apanel, on Dec. 16; and her parents, Michael and Anna Cherney Apanel. She is survived by her husband, John S. Koztowski of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. Services were arranged by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, with interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be sent to Meridian Hospice, Building 4, Second Floor, 615 Hope Road, Eatontown 07724.
