EUGENE P. BEAGEN, 76, of Hazlet died Nov. 10 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he resided in the Port Monmouth and Leonardo sections of Middletown prior to moving to Hazlet three years ago. Mr. Beagen was a retired traffic operator at Hatco Chemical, Fords, for 31 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was predeceased by three sisters, Marie Prepiak, Margaret Pello and Julia Kluin; and a brother, Matthew Beagen. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Quinn Beagen; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Crimaldi of Wall Township, and Colleen and Michael Carlo of the Lincroft section of Middletown; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Karen Beagen of Hazlet; three brothers, Michael Beagen of Freehold, Joseph Beagen of Pasadena, Texas, and Peter Beagen of Red Bank; two sisters, Patricia Davis of New Port Richey, Fla., and Katherine Beagen of Ocean Grove; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

WILLIAM PAUL ANGERS, 77, of Red Bank died Nov. 19 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Springfield, Mass., he resided in Red Bank since 1963. He was a psychologist in private practice in Red Bank for more than 45 years. He was also director of counseling services and graduate studies and a full professor of psychology at Kean College, Union, for 29 years, retiring in 1987. Following retirement, he provided counseling services for Catholic Charities, Red Bank. He was a communicant of and lector and Eucharistic minister at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He was given the title of Knight of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Leger of Canada, and was a professed member of the Third Order of St. Dominic. He was a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, and the author of more than 200 publications that appeared in journals and magazines. He was predeceased by his son, Rodolph "Rody" Joseph Angers II. He is survived by his wife, Marilynn Moehlenbrock Angers; his daughter, Mary Catherine Angers; and his sister, Helene Brody. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

THERESA JANNICELLI VERDEROSA of Oceanport died Nov. 20 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Born in Newark, she lived there prior to moving to Oceanport 26 years ago. Mrs. Verderosa was a teacher with the Newark school system, retiring in 1976. She was a parishioner of St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. She was a retired member of the Newark Teachers Association, and a member of the Oceanport Seniors. She was predeceased by her husband, Rocco V. Verderosa, in 1990. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Carmine A. and Emma Jean Verderosa of Bayville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Madeline Verderosa of Oceanport, and Teresa and Joseph Pannullo of East Hanover; her brother, Daniel Jannicelli of Nutley; her sister, Mary Rullis of Newark; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery, Eatontown. Memorial donations may be made to St. Lucy’s Rectory, c/o St. Gerard Plaza, 118 Seventh Ave., Newark 07104.

FLORENCE K. RUBINO SCARPINO, 82, of Oceanport died Nov. 30 at home. Born in Long Branch, Mrs. Scarpino was a lifelong resident of various shore towns. She was a parishioner at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was predeceased by a grandson, Scott Bifulco, in 2001; a brother, Frank Rubino; and a sister, Lena DePaola. Mrs. Scarpino is survived by her husband of 57 years, James A. Scarpino of Oceanport; her son, Charles J. Scarpino of Long Branch; her daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Thomas Bifulco of Ocean Township; three brothers, Peter Rubino of West Long Branch, and John Rubino and Dominick Rubino Jr., both of Long Branch; three sisters, Frances Calabretta of West Long Branch, and Mary Sorrentino and Josephine De Fazio, both Long Branch; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Trinity Church, followed by entombment at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.

ANN ELIZABETH "NAN" HAYNES, Red Bank and New York City, died Dec. 17 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, after a lengthy bout with cancer. Born in Portland, Conn., she was raised there and resided in Shrewsbury prior to moving to Red Bank. Mrs. Haynes was a Realtor at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Rumson, for 25 years. Prior to that, she worked at several other local real estate firms, and taught at River Street School, Red Bank She was a member of the peer review board of the Monmouth County Board of Realtors. She was a communicant of The Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven. Her activities included time with her family and grandchildren, tennis, swimming, and gardening. She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Haynes Sr. of Red Bank; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard A. and Laurie Haynes Jr. of San Diego, and Paul M. and Mary Haynes of Fair Haven; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and John Bunt of Fair Haven; her brother, Jack McGarry; and eight grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at The Church of the Nativity. Memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics, 201 Rockingham Row, Princeton 08547.

MARGARET TRODD HOYES, 81, of Middletown died Dec. 18 at St. Joseph’s Home for the Blind, Jersey City. Born in Jersey City, she had resided there, and in Tinton Falls, Matawan, and several other towns before moving to Middletown. Mrs. Hoyes was a clerical worker for the Internal Revenue Service, Newark, for several years, retiring 30 years ago. She was a volunteer and Eucharistic Minister at Jersey Shore Medical Center and the Medicenter, both Neptune; and a member of the Upper Room Spiritual Center. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

DORIS H. DINGWELL SCHMIDT, 74, of the Belford section of Middletown, died Dec. 17 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Newark, she resided in the Middletown area for the past 50 years. She and her husband owned a local electronics business for more than 30 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Schmidt, in 1990; and her sister, Mary Sinilnikoff. She is survived by her son, Michael Schmidt of Little Silver; two grandchildren; and her niece and nephew. Memorial donations may be made to Monmouth County Humane Society, 2960 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls 07753.

DANIEL DeDONNO, 80, of Middletown died June 12 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Fairlawn before moving to Middletown 44 years ago. Mr. DeDonno was a butcher for 50 years, as well as the owner and operator of Dan’s Meat Market, Farmingdale, for 25 years before retiring in 1983. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of platoon sergeant and earning the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 2179, Port Monmouth section of Middletown. Mr. DeDonno was predeceased by his wife, Teresa Dalli DeDonno, in 1999; and a grandson, Salvatore DeDonno Jr., in 1976. He is survived by two sons, Louis DeDonno of Middletown and Salvatore DeDonno of Port Monmouth; three daughters, Cosma Chiappetta and Isabel Pluhar, both of Middletown, and Danielle DeDonno of Red Bank; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, followed by entombment at Fair View Mausoleum, Middletown.

STANLEY J. KLIMUSZKO, 73, of the Parlin section of Sayreville died June 1 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was employed as a painter at Sunshine Biscuit, Sayreville, where he worked for 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Dwyer Klimuszko; two sons, Joseph Klimuszko of Parlin and Steven Klimuszko of Tinton Falls; a daughter, Jane Maciorowski of Burlington; two brothers, Frank and Henry Klimuszko, both of Florida; and three grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in Cloverleaf Memorial Park Mausoleum, Woodbridge.

ROBERT M. HOURAHAN, 68, of Princeton died June 12 at John L. Montgomery Care Center, Freehold. Born in South Amboy, he resided in Morristown, and the Oakhurst section of Ocean Township before moving to Princeton. Mr. Hourahan was a manager at Jersey Central Power & Light Co., Morristown and Allenhurst, for more than 30 years before retiring. He was a former member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, South Amboy. His activities included volunteering at Princeton Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Roberta Brylinski Hourahan, in 1986; a son, Michael Hourahan, in 1991; and a brother, Neil Hourahan, in 1998. He is survived by four sons, Brian Hourahan, Bruce Hourahan, Timothy Hourahan and Christopher Hourahan; a daughter; Michele Zdanowski; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Mary’s Church, followed by interment at Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Ave., Denville 07834.
