Terance E. Kelleher
Terance E. Kelleher, 63, of Brick, formerly of Manasquan, died Saturday, Sept. 17 at Ocean County Medical Center in Brick.

Born in Englewood, he lived in Manasquan most of his life, before moving to Brick three years ago.

Mr. Kelleher worked for the County of Monmouth Motor Pool Division in Freehold for over 20 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Denis Church in Manasquan and a former councilman in Manasquan. He was a graduate of St. Rose High School and Bethel College in McKenzie, Tenn.

Mr. Kelleher was pre-deceased by his parents, James R. and M. Eleanor [nee Dougherty] Kelleher.

He is survived by three brothers, James R. and his wife Sandra, of Wall Township, Ronald, of Brick, and Robert and his wife Karen, of Setauket, N.Y. His nephew, James D. Kelleher, of Wall Township, and niece, Kathryn Fell and her husband Brian, of Wall Township, two great nephews, Brian and Colin Fell.

The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in St. Catharine Cemetery, in Wall.

Grace R. Damato
Grace R. Damato, 91 of Wall Township passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13 at her home.

Born in Jersey City, she had resided there her entire life until moving to Wall Township 20 years ago.

As a resident of the Jersey Shore, she was a communicant of St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake and was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Jersey City.

Grace had been employed as a bookkeeper for the Graniteville Company, N.Y. for 34 years before her retirement.

She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary Fargo Damato.

Surviving is her beloved sister Annette Milano of Spring Lake Heights, her niece Lucille A. Milano of North Arlington and her nephew Michael Milano of Bayonne.

The O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Dorothy M. Newman
Dorothy M. Newman, 80, of Wall, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 20 at her home in Wall. Dorothy was born in Long Branch and was a lifelong resident of Wall Township. She was a homemaker, who volunteered at Allaire State Park for over 33 years at the New Jersey Museum of Transportation Pinecreek Railroad. She was on the Board of Trustees for over 30 years and served as Chairman of the Board. Dorothy was one of the original members of the “Old Wall Historical Society, ” where she served as past president and vice president. Trains were her hobby.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Donald in 1998; two brothers Dick and Clarence Carlson and a sister Esther Costigan.

She is survived by her two sons, Donald E. Newman, Jr., of Brick and Arnold J. Newman, of Wall; two daughters, Dorothy E. Williams, of Wall and Joan A. Reddy, of Virginia Beach, Va. She is also survived by a sister Ruth Sylvester, of Jackson, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday, Sept. 25, from 2-5 p.m. at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Sunday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. Interment will be private.

Jack J. Manutti
Jack J. Manutti of Belmar, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Aug. 22, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was the former Chief of the Belmar Police Department from 1979 to 1987. Chief Manutti joined the Belmar Police Department in 1953 as a patrolman and served for 34 years. Jack was a councilman in Belmar from 1988 until 2001. He was a life long resident of Belmar and a communicant of the Church of Saint Rose. Jack was a member of PBA No. 50, the Belmar Elks Club, and the Belmar Democratic Club. He was a life member and former president of the Goodwill Fire Company in Belmar. He was the former president of the Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association. In 2003, Jack was named Citizen of the Year by the Belmar Chamber of Commerce and inducted into the Saint Rose High School Hall of Fame for basketball. In 1989, Jack ran for Monmouth County Sheriff. He was a proud Army Veteran who served his country during the Korean War.

Jack is survived by his wife of 56 years Erma Manutti, his four daughters and their husbands, Linda Ann Walsh and Jerry of Howell, Catherine Mileski and Clyde of Lake Como, Mary Gibson and Kenny of Wall Township, and Jacqueline DeMarco and Paul of Fair Haven, and eight grandchildren, Michael and Tara Walsh, Craig and Rachel Mileski, Brian and Kyle Gibson and Jack and Andrew DeMarco.

Jack’s family extends far beyond the walls of his own home. Throughout the community he was lovingly referred to as Uncle Jack. The impact Jack has made on the community of Belmar is everlasting.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, Aug. 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Saint Rose, 603 7th Avenue Belmar. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Reilly Funeral Home 801 D Street Belmar. Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum, Saint Catharine’s cemetery Sea Girt NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the Belmar Police Association 601 Main Street Belmar NJ, 07719, would be greatly appreciated.

Frederick N. Epple
Frederick N. Epple, 76, of Brick, passed away Aug. 22 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Irvington, he resided in Wall for over 40 years before moving to Brick in 2002.

Mr. Epple was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 129 of Toms River. He was a Tractor Trailer Driver for Charlton Brothers for over 20 years before working for Kempton Flags in Wall for the past 10 years. Frederick was a trustee of the Lions Head South and a member of their Men’s Club. The Epple family would like to express an immense gratitude to the members of Lions Head South and Brennan 6, Oncology Floor for their compassion and help during this time of need.

Freddy enjoyed playing golf and was an avid reader, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a brother Edward Epple and a sister Margaret Cassese.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years Alice Donohue Epple, his loving children, Patrick Epple and wife Diana and Kelly O’Dea and husband Kevin, both of Spring Lake, Bernadette Cusick and husband James of Point Pleasant, his dear brother Harry Epple and wife Betty of Basking Ridge, his dear sisters Clara Zusi of Toms River and Helen Stryanec of Barnegat, his cherished grandchildren James, Devin, Sean, and Erin, and many nieces, nephews, and loving extended family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road at Route 70, Brick. Prayers will be held at 10:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Martha’s R.C. Church, Point Pleasant. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made in Frederick’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 740 Broad St # 3 Shrewsbury, NJ 07702, or to the American Cancer Society 801 Broad Street, Red Bank, NJ.

Michael C. Henry, Sr.
Michael C. Henry, Sr., 75, with family in Lake Como, quietly passed away Monday, Aug. 15 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla.

He was born and raised in Jersey City, graduating from St. Aloysius High School in 1954. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy, then became a firefighter with the Jersey City Fire Department, retiring in 1991. He moved with his family to Point Pleasant in 1970.

He is survived by his wife Claire, Lakewood; three sons, Michael C. Henry Jr. and his wife Robin, Lake Como; Mark Henry, Portland, Ore. and Matthew Henry, Brick; one daughter, Monica Rome and her husband Michael, Franklin Lakes; a sister Mary Oeschler, Forked River; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Lorraine Groeschke, Wall, nine grandchildren, Micaela Henry-Little, Tess, Nell, Matt, Marissa, Karina and Cole Henry and Milena and Stephanie Rome as well as several nieces, nephews and their families.

West Palm Funeral Home in Florida handled the arrangements.

Interment will be private. Donations in his memory can be made to Jersey City Firefighter’s Distress Fund 465 Marin Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07302.

Rose J. Crammer
Rose J. Crammer, 84 of Manasquan passed away Monday Aug. 22 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune with her family by her side.

Rose was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. and moved to the shore area in the mid 50’s and resided in Manasquan since 1968. Prior to her marriage she worked for the IRS. Rose was very interested in politics locally and nationally. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghan blankets and spending time with her dog Shadow.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Alfred Crammer in 1992.

She is survived by her loving children Julie, Cathy, Louis and Paul.

Arrangements are under the direction of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan. Interment will be private at Brig Gen William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Memorial donations may be made to Popcorn Park Zoo, Humane Way at Lacey Road, PO Box 43 Forked River, NJ 08731.

Laura Richardson Harvey
Laura Richardson Harvey, 94, of Brielle, passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore University Medical Center on Saturday, Aug. 20, after a short illness. Mrs. Harvey was born in Lake Como and, at the age of 10, moved to Brielle where she resided for 84 years. She was a graduate of Brielle Elementary and Manasquan High schools. Early in her life she worked for the Rankin Family who owned the Glimmer Glass Restaurant in Brielle, and was a personal assistant to Dr. Agnes Wayman. She was a woman of faith who actively demonstrated her love and lived her strong Christian beliefs.

Mrs. Harvey was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Harold Harvey, who passed away in 1996 and her grandson, David Hester; her brothers, Isaac and John Richardson; her sisters Isabel Kennedy, Bertha Battle, Cora Richardson and Susie Stewart.

Surviving are her sisters, Grace Johnson and her husband William of Tinton Falls, brother Paul Richardson and sister Gloria Henriques, both of Neptune. Mrs. Harvey leaves behind four daughters; Bertha Hester of Effort, Pa., Peggy Harvey-Lee of Fairport, N.Y., Sharon Harvey of Brielle, and Brenda Haase and her husband Albert of Brielle. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Ely Funeral Home, 3316 Route 33 in Neptune 07753.

The formal “home going” service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at White Ridge cemetery in Eatontown.

William E. Monzo
William E. Monzo, 89 of Tinton Falls, with family in Wall, passed away Thursday Aug. 18 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune with his family by his side.

William was born in Interlaken and raised in Tinton Falls. He graduated from Red Bank High School. William was an army veteran serving during both World War II and the Korean War. After serving in the military he worked for Heimlich Motors, Long Branch, then Circle Chevrolet and retiring after 35 years as manager of the auto body department. Upon his retirement from Circle Chevrolet William helped manage Atlantic Farms with his grandson John for over 20 years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed traveling and hunting in his earlier years. Farming was a big part of his life. William lived on a farm all of his life and enjoyed farming so much it was more of a hobby than work. William was always supportive and there for his families and friends.

William was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Nora Monzo, a brother Anthony Monzo and a sister Katherine Park.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Maria [nee Spangl] of Tinton Falls and a daughter Ingrid Tobia of Elberon. William is also survived by two grandsons John W. Tobia and his wife Jessica of Wall and Anthony M. Tobia of Ocean Township; three great granddaughters, Lisa A., Laurie E. and Nikayla; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, was in charge of arrangements.

Michael C. Bufo
Michael C. Bufo, 73, of Wall Township, died Aug. 21 at Centrastate Medical Center, Freehold Township.

Born in Summit, Mr. Bufo was raised in Millburn and resided in Maplewood before moving here 23 years ago. He attended Farleigh Dickenson University.

He was employed as a Global Process Specialist for Lucent Technologies, Warren, retiring after 41 years of service. He served as a hockey coach for Seton Hall Prep and a Scout Master for Troop II, Maplewood.

Mr. Bufo is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jane Farley Bufo. Also, his three children and their spouses Dr. Michael and Gretchen Bufo, Scarborough, Maine, David and Sharon Bufo, Los Osos, Calif. and Sharon and Kevin Greenhalgh, Point Pleasant. He is also survived by his grandchildren Garrin Bufo, Gayle Bufo, Carlen Bufo and Jake Greenhalgh.

A Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2at 4 p.m. at his residence.
