Rosemary Erickson
Spring Lake Heights resident Rosemary M. Kelly Erickson died on Saturday, July 5 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.

She was 68 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived on Staten Island, before moving to Spring Lake Heights, where she resided for 39 years. Before moving to New Jersey, Mrs. Erickson was a teacher in the New York City School System. Mrs. Erickson was a retired kindergarten teacher at St. Catharine’s Grammar School in Spring Lake and a former volunteer at Spring Lake Heights Summer Recreation Story Hour.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Catharine’s Church. She was a great supporter of charitable organizations and missions and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur J. Erickson, and her sons, Thomas P. Erickson and James A. Erickson.

She is survived by her children, Jo Ellen M. Erickson and Todd Perry, Mary Pat Moriarty and her husband, Kerry Moriarty, her sons, Robert J. Erickson and Eric G. Erickson; and her grandchildren, Liam and Aiden Moriarty, Halle Rose Perry and Megan Pechar. She also leaves her sister, Mary Ellen Middleton and family; and her brother, John L. Kelly and family.

The committal service was private.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities, P.O. Box 1423, Trenton, 08607.

O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, was in charge of the arrangements.

Patrick C. Priest
Brick and Ft. Meyers, Fla. resident Patrick C. Priest, formerly of Manasquan, died on Tuesday, July 8 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brick

He was 85 years old.

He was born and raised in Jersey City and lived in Manasquan for 30 years before moving to Brick seven years ago.

He was a veteran of WW II, proudly serving his country as a sergeant in the 1455th U.S. Army Air Forces. He was employed as a fireman for 38 years with the Jersey City Fire Department, retiring as captain in 1988.

He was a communicant of St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church in Ft. Meyers, Fla., and a member of the Uniformed Firefighters Association of Jersey City, IAFF Local 1066 and FMBA Local 1.

Mr. Priest was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sheila Kaye [Joyce] Priest; three sons, Patrick J. and his wife, Ramona, of Lakewood, Owen P. and his partner, Carl, of Chicago, Ill., and Philip J. and his wife, Christine, of Manasquan; two daughters, Kayce A. D’Agostino and her husband, Philip, of Hillsborough, and Patricia A. Soukrup and her husband, James, of Telluride, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Brian, Jake, Jessica, Kyle, Megan and Graham; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Highway 70, Brick.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, at 9 a.m. at St. Martha’s Roman Catholic Church in Point Pleasant.

Interment is private.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in his honor to the American Heart Association.

William J. Klco
Point Pleasant resident William J. Klco died Saturday, Sept. 8 in his home.

He was 56 years old.

Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Manasquan before moving to Point Pleasant 13 years ago.

A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, he had been employed by Allen’s Plumbing in Manasquan for 25 years. Currently, he was the owner of Bill K’s Heating, Point Pleasant, which be established four years ago.

He was a member of B.P.O. Elks, Manasquan, and was also an avid fisherman.

He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Sophie Klco.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Marie Staunton; his stepdaughter, Kristin Schanck of Brick; his brother, Paul Klco of Mount Laurel; his sister, Teresa Foster of Greeley, Pa.; his mother- and father-in-law, Edna and Bill Nay of Point Pleasant; and by many dear friends.

The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant handled the arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, contributions made in his memory to the American Humane Society, 63 Inverness Drive E., Englewood, CO 80112-5117, or americanhumane.org, would be appreciated.

Stacey Lynn Collins
Brick resident Stacey Lynn Collins, formerly of Point Pleasant, died Friday, Aug. 24 with her significant other, Cory Openshaw, in Ellsworth, Maine.

She was 32 years old.

She was born Feb. 24, 1975, in New Jersey.

She was the daughter of Charles and Carol Collins.

Ms. Collins was a graduate of Point Pleasant Beach High School and Star Technical Institute. She lived most of her life in the Ocean County area.

She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt.

She was predeceased by her father, Charles Raymond Collins.

She is survived by her mother; three children, Connor, 10, Garrett, 7, and Morgan, 2; two brothers, Charles and Shaun; a sister, Bonnie; two nephews; and a niece.

A donation fund has been set up at OceanFirst Bank, Brick. Donations can be sent to Openshaw Children’s Fund, P. O. Box 4280, Brick, 08723.

Tony S. Falzarano
Point Pleasant resident Tony S. Falzarano died Thursday, Sept. 6 in the Claremont Care Center.

He was 77 years old.

Born in Stirling, he was formerly of Plainfield and had also lived in Long Branch, Manasquan and Forked River, residing in Point Pleasant for the past two years.

For almost all of his life he was in the automotive sales industry and retired from Coast Buick in Sea Girt where he was the sales manager.

He was a former member of the B.P.O. Elks and was past president of the Kiwanis in Manasquan.

He was predeceased by his wife Erika.

He is survived by three sons, Anthony Falzarano and his wife Mary Lou of Brick, Alan Falzarano of Los Angeles and Dean Falzarano; his sister, Ann Flatley; two grandchildren, Jason Falzarano and his wife Lynda and Lauren Falzarano; and by two precious great-grandchildren, Jenna and Joshua.

The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant was in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 20 Monterey Circle, Lakewood, 08701, would be appreciated.

Joyce Lee
Point Pleasant resident Joyce Lee died Wednesday, Sept. 5, joining her husband William in eternal life.

She was 83 years old.

Born in Plainfield and raised in Scotch Plains, she graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, whom she later married.

It is here where she raised her family and involved herself in her children’s activities. She was a giving person who supported numerous charitable organizations.

Mrs. Lee moved from Scotch Plains to Point Pleasant and worked at Martin’s Casuals in Lavallette.

Her kind and loving nature brought joy to her family and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Surviving are her four children, Nancy Puzzo and her husband Michael of Point Pleasant, William Lee and his wife Patricia of Branford, Conn., Robert Lee and his wife Marilyn Casale of New Providence, and Richard Lee and his wife Jacqueline of Point Pleasant; 11 grandchildren Michael and Marc Reilly, Bill, Colleen and Caitlin Lee, Jana and Samantha Lee, Matthew, Meredith, Alexandra and Donovan Lee; and four precious great-grandchildren, Morgan and Alexa Reilly and Kayla and Summer Reilly.

The Pable-Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant handled the arrangements.

Interment took place at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, 08753 would be appreciated.

John J. Leonard
Bay Head resident John J. Leonard, also of North Arlington, died Tuesday, Sept. 4 in The Select Specialty Hospital, Rochelle Park.

He was 87 years old.

Born in Belfast, Ireland, he lived in Kearny before moving to North Arlington 56 years ago. He also maintained a second residence in Bay Head.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Queen of Peace Council 3428, North Arlington.

John graduated from St. Benedict’s Preparatory High School as a member of the class of 1940.

A Veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

John, a graduate of the American College of Life Underwriters, held the prestigious degree of Chartered Life Underwriter [CLU]. He retired in December 2006 after 62 years of service as an Agent Emeritus for Prudential Insurance Company. His 62 years of service was the longest of any Prudential agent in the nation.

He was also a partner in Leonard & Cheval Real Estate and Insurance in North Arlington.

He also served as a commissioner on the North Arlington Shade Tree Commission and the borough’s recreation commission.

He is the beloved husband of Florence Ness Leonard; the cherished father of Glenn T. Leonard Esq. and his wife, Susan, Judy Cheval and her husband, William, John “Jack” Leonard and his wife, Annick and Janice Duff and her husband, George; loving grandfather of Tracey M. Barnes, Glenn T. Leonard Jr., M.D., Brian T. and Nolan R. Leonard, Courtney and William Cheval Jr. and Lindsay Duff; adored great-grandfather of Justin R. Barnes, Jordan R. Barnes, Madeline and Nathaniel Leonard; and dear brother of Thomas G. Leonard, Anna La Rosa, George P. and Edmund F. Leonard.

The Parow Funeral Home, North Arlington handled the arrangements. Interment took place at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
