Anna Marie Dick, 83
Anna Marie Dick, 83, of Fanwood died on Friday, July 10, 1998 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Stanhope, Mrs. Dick had lived in Fanwood since 1950.
She was a member of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Her husband, William B. Dick, died in 1974.
Surviving are her daughter, Arlene Nagel of Linden; two sisters, Betty Noon and Eleanor Zelinsky, both of Elizabeth; a brother, Carl Zelinsky of Linden; two grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services took place on Monday, July 13, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood. A Mass followed at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fanwood Rescue Squad, 218 Forest Road, Fanwood, 07023.

Eugene A. Otto, 94
Was Rotarian; Entertained Nursing Home Residents
Eugene A. Otto, 94, of Westfield died on Wednesday, July 8, 1998 at home.
Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Westfield most of his life.
Mr. Otto was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking in Elizabeth.
He began working at Westfield Trust Company while attending Westfield High School, and retired in 1965 as a trust officer and Vice President after 43 years of service.
Mr. Otto was a Past President of the Rotary Club of Westfield and a member of the Westfield Old Guard. For many years, he entertained nursing home residents as the violinist in a musical group called The Merrymen.
Surviving are his wife, Marie McGall Otto; a son, Dr. Ralph A. Otto of West Springfield, Virginia; a daughter, Frances Griffin of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 11, at the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home, 556 Westfield Avenue in Westfield.

John V. Tierney, 77
Local Volunteer; Army Veteran Was Knights Member
John V. Tierney, 77, of Westfield died on Friday, July 10, 1998 at the Westfield Center, Genesis ElderCare Network.
Born in Bayonne, he had lived in Staten Island before moving to Westfield 30 years ago.
Mr. Tierney attended Columbia University in New York City.
He had been a supervisor with Carlton H. Ettlinger Surveyors on Staten Island for 25 years, retiring in 1992.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and participated in the landing at Leyte in the Philippines.
Mr. Tierney was a member of the Roman Catholic Church of St. Anne in Garwood, the Father Nelligan Council Knights of Columbus in Westfield, and the Professional Surveyors and Engineers Association.
He was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Westfield.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Rafferty Tierney; three sons, Sean Tierney of Westfield, Steven Tierney of Summit and Mark Tierney of Metuchen; a daughter, Kate Tierney of Seattle; a brother, Francis Tierney of Ocala, Florida; a sister, Helen Brodeur of Paris, and three grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Monday, July 13, at the Church of St. Anne. Interment took place at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westfield Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 356, Westfield, 07091.

Theresa M. Murphy, 76
Rosarian; Widow of Former N.Y. Assemblyman
Theresa M. Byrne Murphy of Westfield, 76, died on Saturday, July 11, 1998 at home.
Born in Brooklyn, she resided there until moving to Westfield in 1987.
A homemaker, Mrs. Murphy was very active in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn. She was a Past President of the parish's Rosary Society.
Her late husband, Lawrence P. Murphy, who died in 1975, was a retired New York State Assemblyman who served in that capacity from 1944 to 1970.
Surviving are four sons, Philip Murphy and Brian Murphy, both of Westfield, Lawrence Murphy of Garden City, New York, and Dennis Murphy of Wyckoff; three sisters, Alice Pigott, Kay Brennan and Helen Meehan; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Mass was offered yesterday, Wednesday, July 15, at St. Helen's Roman Catholic Church in Westfield. Burial took place in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hope Hospice, 176 Hussa Street, Linden, 07036.
Arrangements were handled by the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home, 556 Westfield Avenue, Westfield.

Daniel A. Fabiano, 55
Daniel Anthony Fabiano, 55, died on Monday, July 13, 1998 at his home in Westfield.
Born in Plainfield, he was raised in South Plainfield before moving to Westfield 29 years ago. He was a member of the Local No. 472 Heavy and General Laborers Union in Union. He was a construction foreman for the Dell Contractors of Paterson for the last six years where he was still active.
Surviving are five sons; Daniel A. Fabiano, Jr. of Westfield, Darin M. Fabiano of Huntsville, North Carolina, David R. Fabiano of Ringos, Douglas P. Fabiano of Barnagate, and Drew A. Fabiano of Indian Rock Beach, Florida; six sisters, Sarah Fabiano of South Plainfield, Grace Le Fluer of Piscataway, Viola Young of Westfield, Frances Koncsol, Carmella Vander Putten and Rosalie Fleming, all of North Plainfield; two brothers, John Fabiano of South Plainfield, and Joseph Fabiano of Bound Brook, and three grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass was held yesterday, Wednesday, July 15, at The Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains. Arrangements were handled by the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Diabeties Association.

William A. Ryback, 82
William A. Ryback, 82, of Freehold, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998 at his home.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he had lived in Scotch Plains for 23 years and in the Oldwick section of Tewksbury for 23 years before moving to Freehold three years ago.
He was a 1939 graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, where he earned a civil engineering degree.
Mr. Ryback was a Civil Engineer at Wigton-Abbott in Plainfield for 25 years. He owned and operated Ryback Corp. in Tewksbury for 25 years before retiring.
He was predeceased by a sister, Ann Vickers.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Helen Bredhold Ryback; three sons, William A. Ryback, Jr. of Burke, Virginia, Robert A. Ryback of Glen Gardner and Kurt M. Ryback of Greensboro, North Carolina; two daughters, Bette A. Saker of Freehold and Karen M. Thompson of Bangor, Pennsylvania; a brother, Harry Ryback of Dallas, Texas; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held tomorrow, Friday, July 17, at Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church in Schooley's Mountain.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, July 16, at Martin Funeral Home in Clinton.

Albert A. Lantz, 73
Albert A.. Lantz, 73, of Westfield died Monday, July 13, 1998 in Rahway Hospital.
Born in Westfield, he had lived in Cranford before moving back to Westfield many years ago.
Mr. Lantz had owned and operated Albert Lantz Painting and Decorating in Westfield for 55 years.
Surviving are his son, James Lantz; three daughters, Joyce Santucci, Barbara Lantz Niro and Alberta A. Fraser; a brother; three sisters, and eight grandchildren.
A Liturgy will be offered tomorrow, Friday, July 17, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Cranford.
Arrangements are being handled by the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Avenue, Cranford.
