Ernest E. Bolton, 60, of Dover died on Friday, February 12, 1999 at Pennsylvania University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Linden, he had lived in Piscataway before moving to Island Heights 18 years ago.
Mr. Bolton was a warranty administrator with Buhler Dodge in Red Bank for the past six years.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Pine Bolton; two sons, Mark A. Bolton and Craig E. Bolton, both of Toms River; a daughter, Mary Bolton, also of Toms River; two brothers, Neil Bolton of Freehold and Kenneth Bolton of Piscataway; two sisters, Ruth Christoffers of Mountainside and Bonnie Bolton of Florida, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, February 17, at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River.

Stephen Cominsky, 55
Stephen Cominsky, 55, of Colonia died on Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at home.
Born in Morel, Pennsylvania, he had lived in Westfield before moving to Colonia 12 years ago.
Mr. Cominsky had worked for Commerce Clearing House in Clark for 28 years before retiring in 1994 as a production manager.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 328 in Clark, and served in the United States Army Reserve.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, February 13, in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home in Rahway.

Carmen Veninata, 82
Army Veteran; Owned Tailor Shop in Roselle Park
Carmen J. Veninata, 82, of Scotch Plains died on Saturday, February 13, 1999 in Rahway Hospital.
Born in Ragusa, Italy, he had lived in Westfield before moving to Scotch Plains 34 years ago.
Mr. Veninata had been the owner and operator of Carmen’s Tailor and Cleaning in Roselle Park for 25 years before retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains, the Scotch Plains Golden Agers and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10122 in Scotch Plains.
He was also a member of American Legion Martin Wallberg Post No. 3 in Westfield.
Mr. Veninata was a United States Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Palma G. Firrincili-Veninata; a son, Carmen J. Veninata, Jr. of Cedar Knolls; a daughter, Lucy Manto of Colonia; a brother, Vincent J. Veninata of Palm City, Florida, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 16, at the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood, followed by a Mass at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Scotch Plains Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 325, Scotch Plains, 07076.

Thomas J. Reagan, 85
Army Captain; Owned Railroad Construction Firm
Thomas J. Reagan, 85, of Monroe Township died on Friday, February 12, 1999 in the Forrestal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he had lived in Westfield for 30 years before moving to the Rossmoor section of Monroe Township in 1982.
Mr. Reagan owned the T. J. Reagan Railroad Construction Company for 25 years. He previously had worked in the construction department of the Central Railroad of New Jersey for 15 years.
He was a member of the Rossmoor Golf Club in Monroe Township and the Suburban Golf Club in Union.
He was a Captain in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Reagan was a graduate of St. Thomas College in Scranton.
Surviving are his wife, Jessie Reagan; three daughters, Nancy Hahn, Susan Schweikert and Molly Reagan; two sons, Tim Reagan and Jamie Reagan; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Mass was offered on Tuesday, February 16, in the Nativity of Our Lord Church in Monroe Township, following services at the David DeMarco Funeral Home in Monroe Township.

Angela Ferrone, 88
Angela Ferrone, 88, of Lakewood died on Thursday, February 11, 1999 in Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Springfield, Clark and Westfield before moving to Lakewood.
Surviving are a son, Gerard Ferrone, Sr.; a daughter, Marie Schwerdt; a brother, Anthony D’Alessio, and three sisters, Rose Colabelli, Geneva Gaeta, and Carmela De Lorenzo.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Tuesday, February 16, in St. Martha’s Church in Point Pleasant.
Arrangements were handled by the Pable-Evertz Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.

Sylvia S. Johansen, 87
Sylvia Stuart Johansen, 87, of North Yarmouth, Maine died on Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at a Yarmouth nursing facility.
Born in Salem, Massachusetts, the daughter of Anne C. and Robert L. Stuart, she came to Westfield in 1946. Upon her retirement she relocated to Damariscotta, Maine, and moved to North Yarmouth in 1993.
Mrs. Johansen had been a reference librarian at the Westfield Memorial Library in 1958, and a year later was named assistant director there. She retired in 1972 as Director of the library.
Prior to moving to Westfield, she worked in the historical library of the Essex Institute in Salem, Massachusetts, and later held a job in the Library of Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. She also was employed at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.
After retiring to Damariscotta, Mrs. Johansen served on the Board of Directors of the Skidompha Library and was the Director of the library’s second hand book shop.
She additionally was a member of the Miles Memorial Hospital League and the Old Bristol Garden Club in Maine.
She published a soup cookbook entitled “A Small Book of Soups,” in 1981.
While living in North Yarmouth, she was a volunteer at the Prince Memorial Library in Cumberland and was also a member of the Walnut Hill Garden Club.
Mrs. Johansen was a 1929 graduate of Holten High School in Danvers, Massachusetts, where she was class valedictorian. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Library Science from Simmons College in Boston in 1933.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Chester E. Johansen, in 1993.
Surviving are a daughter, Martha Sharp of North Yarmouth; a son, Stephen C. Johansen of New York City; a brother, Robert C. Stuart of North Andover, Massachusetts; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Burial and memorial services will be held in the spring.
Memorial donations may be made to Skidompha Library in Damariscotta or the Prince Memorial Library in Cumberland.

Josephine Rusignola-Restivo, 91
Named Outstanding Senior Citizen
Josephine Rusignola-Restivo, 91, of Scotch Plains died on Friday, February 12, 1999 in Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in Sicily, she had lived in Scotch Plains for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Rusignola-Restivo had been a sewing machine operator for Schwartz & Mandel in Newark for 30 years before retiring in 1969.
She was named Outstanding Female Senior Citizen in Scotch Plains in 1981.
Mrs. Rusignola-Restivo was a Past President of the Golden Age Senior Citizens and a member of the Senior Citizen Housing Committee and the Past Bicentennial Celebration Committee, all of Scotch Plains. She was also affiliated with St. John’s Nutrition Center until 1992.
Surviving are a son, Anthony Restivo; a daughter, Jo Anne Weber; a sister, Minnie Lucciano; two brothers, Albert Aiello and Anthony Aiello; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass was offered on Tuesday, February 16, at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains, following the funeral service from the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.

Hazel M. Wallin, 83
Hazel M. Wallin, 83, of Lakehead, California died on Saturday, February 6, 1999 at home.
Born in New Jersey, she had lived in Westfield, Roselle and in Garden Grove, California before moving to Lakehead in August.
Surviving are a son, Robert Wallin; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 12, in the Dooley Funeral Home, 218 North Avenue in Cranford.

Debra Ann Hatton, 39
Debra Ann Hatton, 39, of Scotch Plains died on Friday, February 12, 1999 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Scotch Plains for most of her life.
Miss Hatton graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in 1976.
Surviving are her mother, Irene Hatton of Scotch Plains; a sister, Lynn Decker, and a brother, Scott Hatton, both of Clinton.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 15, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Avenue in Fanwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, 75 Rock Avenue, P.O. Box 3074, Plainfield, 07063.

Frances M. Cere, 85
Frances M. Cere, 85, of Fanwood died on Friday, February 12, 1999 in Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in New York City, she had lived in Roselle Park before moving to Fanwood 32 years ago.
Mrs. Cere had been a seamstress for Fusco Brothers in Roselle for five years in the late 1940s.
Surviving are her husband, Mindy A. Cere.
A Mass was offered yesterday, Wednesday, February 17, in the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park, following funeral services at the Mastapeter Suburban Funeral Home in Roselle Park.
