Life Dates: January 21, 1921 - June 6, 2002
Ruth Furman Black of Jamesburg, NJ died June 6, 2002 at Hackensack University Medical Center. Born January 21, 1921 in Poland, she grew up in Brooklyn and attended Brooklyn College were she met her husband George and married him 61 years ago. She lived in Maplewood, Clinton and Basking Ridge before moving to Jamesburg five years ago.
Survived by: In addition to her husband, Ruth has three children, daughter Barbara Block and son-in-law Ben of Edison, daughter Ricki Henschel and son-in-law George of Springfield, Virginia, and son Marc Black and daughter-in-law Susan of Katonah, NY. Her sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Marty Zimmerman reside in Great Neck, Long Island, NY and Ruth has 8 grandchildren, Jason, Geoffrey, Brian, Jeremy, Jaime, Rebecca, Sarah and Tiffany, and 2 great-grandchildren Tyler and Riley.
Services: Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ with Rabbi Herbert Weiner officiating.
Interment will follow at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Barbara Block in Edison, NJ from Sunday until Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Hadassah or National Trust for Historic Preservation

Frances P. Andreuzzi
Life Dates: November 10, 1928 - May 30, 2002
Frances Andreuzzi, age 73, died on Thursday at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. She was born in Perth Amboy and resided there for her entire life.
Mrs. Andreuzzi worked as a Switchboard Operator for NJ Bell Telephone Company and for Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. She was a communicant at Holy Rosary Church, a member of the Holy Rosary Senior Citizens, the Lady's Guild of Holy Rosary, and the Rosary Memorial #1613 Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis F. Andreuzzi who died in 1989.
Survived by: Surviving are her son, Louis S. Andreuzzi of Union Beach, her daughter, Cathy Andreuzzi of Perth Amboy, two grandchildren, Louis S. Jr. and Megan Andreuzzi, her sisters, Catherine Aragona of Perth Amboy and Julia Possert of Fords. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday, June 2, 2002 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ.
Funeral Service: Monday, June 3, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Rosary RC Church in Hopelawn.
Interment to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Joseph D. Chevelle
Life Dates: November 5, 1948 - May 4, 2002
Joseph Chevelle, age 53, died on Saturday at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Fords for most of his life.
Mr. Chevelle was a Professional Truck Driver with International Motor Freight, Port Newark. He loved music and when he wasn't driving his truck, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, crabbing, and boating.
He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Fail.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife of many years, Joanne Chevelle of Fords, his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Marie and Paul Materniak of Iselin, and his grandsons, Branden Paul and Tyler Daniel Materniak. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
Visitation: Tuesday, May 7, 2002 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords, NJ.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden.

Marie Facciponte
Life Dates: January 6, 1917 - April 21, 2002
Marie Facciponte, age 85, died on Sunday at Hartwyck at Oak Tree, in Edison. She was born in Brooklyn and resided in East Orange, NJ, before moving to Metuchen 23 years ago.
Mrs. Facciponte was employed for many years by the Olympic Junior Company, a clothing manufacturer in Newark, retiring 23 years ago.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Facciponte who died in 1963, her brothers, Charles, Harry, and Carmen Castiglione, and her sisters, Antoinette Ziccardi, Frances Mocciola and Josephine Longo.
Survived by: Surviving are her daughter, Camille Stanlaw of Bayonne, her sister, Eleanor Petronella of Metuchen and many nieces & nephews.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 24, 2002 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 319 Amboy Avenue, Metuchen, NJ.
Funeral Service: Thursday, April 25, 2002 at 9:45 a.m. followed by a 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen.
Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.

Murray Gornitzky
Life Dates: April 14, 1923 - April 17, 2002
Murray Gornitzky, age 79, died on Wednesday at Largo Medical Center in Clearwater, Florida. He was born in Jersey City and had resided in the Menlo Park Terrace section of Woodbridge for the past 48 years.
Mr. Gornitzky was the President and owner of Empire White Products specialty concrete in Newark, retiring in the early 80's after 38 years.
He was a US veteran serving in the Army during WW II. He was a member of Congregation Adath Israel in Woodbridge.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife, Lucille Poznak Gornitzky, his son Jay Gornitzky of Toms River, his daughter, Joan Deming of Largo Florida, and his three grandsons, Matthew, Randy and Alex.
Funeral Service: Graveside services were held on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at Beth Israel Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
Memorial Contributions may be made to: Children's Specialized Hospital, Mountainside, or The American Heart Association

Bernice Hospodar
Life Dates: May 9, 2002
Bernice Hospodar, of Avenel, died on Thursday at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.She was born in Perth Amboy and had resided in Avenel for the last 30 years.
Ms. Hospodar was a retired Secretary of the Legal Department at Englehard Corporation in Iselin and prior to there, worked for 20 years at Lake Food Service in Perth Amboy.
Survived by: Surviving are her brother, Joseph Kutcher of Huntington Beach Ca., and her sister, Beverly Kutcher of Union. Also surviving are a niece and three nephews.
Visitation: Monday, May 13, 2002 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Frank R. Lopedota
Life Dates: October 13, 1924 - April 30, 2002
Frank Lopedota, age 77, died on Tuesday at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, NJ.He was born in Jersey City, NJ and had resided in Edison for the past 26 years.
Mr. Lopedota was an Engineering Associate at Western Electric AT&T; for 36 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a US veteran who served in the US Air Force.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dominick and Tillie Lopedota.
Survived by: Surviving are his wife, Ruth Kraus Lopedota, his daughter, Donna A. Krisak and his sister, Katherine Lopedota.
Visitation: Friday, May 3, 2002 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Dennis J. Skiba
June 13, 2008
Dennis J. Skiba, age 65 of Hopelawn, died on Friday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was born in Jersey City and moved to Hopelawn 35 years ago.
Mr. Skiba was the Vice President-Bank Manager at East River Savings in New York, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a communicant of Holy Spirit RC Church in Perth Amboy, a member of the Freedom Club of Joseph Pilsudski in Elizabeth and the former President of the New York Safety Deposit Association.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara M. Szcezesny Skiba who died in 1978.
Surviving are his daughters and son-in-law, Theresa and Antonio Couzo of Sayreville and Laura Skiba of Hopelawn, his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis J. Jr. and Anastasia Skiba of Fords and his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Ferdinand Gonzalez of Stroudsburg, PA. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Christine, Michael, Alexandra, Joseph, Raymond, Emma, Mathew, Nicholas, and Joanna, his godson, Joseph, his mother-in-law, Blanche Goodman, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Gertrude Szcezesny, Machaeline and James Guden, Walter and Jacqueline Szcezesny and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday, June 16, 2008 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit RC Church
