Grandmother Of Seventeen; Local Homemaker
Theresa Drogo Eacovalle, 96, of Whiting died on Thursday, July 15, 1999 at Hunterdon Hills Care Center in Lebanon.
Born in New York City, she lived in Dumont before moving to Whiting in 1970.
Mrs. Eacovalle was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Whiting.
She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Eacovalle, in 1989 and her daughter, Isabel Ratto, in 1996.
Surviving are her daughters, Amelia Hemmer and Theresa DeVitis, both of Dumont, Mary Dunn of Westfield and Louise Maguire of Garfield; a son, Louis Eacovalle, Jr. of Lebanon; a sister, Mildred Trainor of Toms River; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 19, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church in Whiting.
Arrangements were handled by the Manchester Memorial Funeral Home in Whiting.

Agnes Shaner, 91
Agnes Shaner, 91, of Mountainside died on Friday, July 16, 1999 in Overlook Hospital in Summit.
Born in Point of Rocks, Maryland, she lived in Rumson for 45 years before moving to Mountainside two years ago.
Surviving are a son, Frederic M. Compher; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday, July 20, in Fairview Cemetery in Middletown.
Arrangements were handled by the Countryside Funeral Home in Three Bridges.

Sonia Pietrucha, 71
Sonia Pietrucha, 71, of Scotch Plains died on Friday, July 16, 1999 in the Genesis Eldercare Center in Westfield.
Born in Newark, she had lived in Scotch Plains since 1957.
Mrs. Pietrucha was an office manager with the GMAC Mortgage Company in Cranford for 20 years before retiring in 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Richard L. Pietrucha and Steven C. Pietrucha; a daughter, Lois M. Parker and seven grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass was offered on Monday, July 19, in St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains.
Arrangements were handled by the Rossi Funeral Home in Scotch Plains.

Roy A. Croag, 81
Retired Salesman; Awarded Bronze Star for Bravery
Roy A. Croag, 81, of Montesano, Washington, formerly of Scotch Plains, died on Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at home.
Born in Brooklyn on January 29, 1918, he was the son of Andrew and Marie Jacobsen Croag. Mr. Croag moved to Scotch Plains in 1924, and relocated to Montesano several years ago.
He had been employed as a salesman for the Virginia Barrel Company of New Jersey and the Leasewell Corporation of New York City before retiring in 1980.
He was a First Lieutenant in the United States Army and was a member of the Army’s First Infantry Division during World War II, serving in Germany and France. Mr. Croag received the Bronze Star for bravery.
A 1937 graduate of Scotch Plains High School, Mr. Croag was a charter member of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Kiwanis Club and served as its President in 1968.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Margaret Willis Croag; five daughters, Karen Bowes of Palos Verdes Estates, California, April Arnesen of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kristen Paparella and Ellen Ferrara of Scotch Plains, and Margaret Dettelbach of Hermosa Beach, California, and 11 grandchildren.
A Fall memorial is planned in New Jersey.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Montesano Fire Department, 310 East Pioneer Avenue, Montesano, Washington 98563, or Harbors Home Health and Hospice, 201 7th Street, Hoquiam, Washington 98550.

Dexter E. MacMillan, 83
Was Founder, President of EWC, Inc. in Kenilworth
Dexter E. MacMillan, 83, of Lakewood died on Friday, July 16, 1999 in Bartley Healthcare in Jackson.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, he lived in East Orange and Westfield, while maintaining a vacation home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before moving to Lakewood last year.
Mr. MacMillan was the founder and president of EWC Inc. in Kenilworth for over 30 years before retiring in 1987.
He was past president of the Manufacturing Association and the Rotary Club, both of Kenilworth.
Surviving are his wife of 11 years, Anna Marie MacMillan; a son, Paul MacMillan; a daughter, Marylin Hiotis; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
Arrangements were handled by the D’Elia Funeral Home in Lakewood.

Robert LoBianco, 49
Technical Recruiter For Area Companies; Software Consultant
Robert C. LoBianco, 49, of North Plainfield died on Tuesday, July 13, 1999 at home.
Born in Newark, he lived in Fanwood and Bridgewater before moving to North Plainfield eight years ago.
Mr. LoBianco was a technical recruiter for Microage of East Rutherford and Icon Company of Hoboken.
He was also self-employed as a consultant in the electronic software industry.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Somerville.
Surviving are his father, Charles V. LoBianco and stepmother, Janet LoBianco of Martinsville; a sister, Nancy Miller of Asbury; two stepsisters, Judy Watkins of Howell and Jamie Schenck of Shrewsbury and a stepbrother, Jeffrey Scott of Toms River.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 17, in the Speer-VanArsdale Funeral Home in Somerville.

Alfred M. Fromm, 75
Alfred Milton Fromm, 75, of South Daytona, Florida died on Monday, July 5, 1999 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
Born in Elizabeth, he had lived in Westfield before relocating to South Daytona in 1973.
He was a former Westfield police officer.
Mr. Fromm served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II.
He was a member of the American Legion of South Daytona, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Port Orange, the Masonic Lodge of Daytona Beach, and the Volusia/ Flagler 40& 8 Voyager Club.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Fromm; a son, Richard Fromm of Edgewater; two daughters, Roxanne Fromm of South Daytona and Pamela Fromm of Keyport, and four grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Boys Nation, American Legion Department of Florida, P. O. Box 547936, Orlando, Florida 32854-7936.
Arrangements were handled by Newlife Cremation and Funeral Chapel in Ormond Beach.

Robert Earl Savard, 63
Robert Earl Savard, 63, of Sarasota, Florida, died on Friday, July 16, 1999 at Integrated Health Services at Braden River in Bradenton, Florida.
Born in Tupper Lake, New York, he lived in Westfield before moving to Sarasota in 1979.
Mr. Savard was a master printer for Quinn & Boden in Rahway and was a member of the International Typographical Union.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church in Sarasota.
He had served in the United States Army Reserves.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Savard of Sarasota; two daughters, Lynnle Savard of Savannah, Georgia and Susan Savard of Sarasota; two sons, Joseph Savard of Evansville, Indiana and Michael Savard of Sarasota and two brothers, Daniel Savard of Rahway and Donald Savard of Brick.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, July 20, at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church.
Arrangements were handled by the Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Manasota Chapel in Bradenton.
Entombment was held at Manasota Memorial Park in Bradenton.
