ADAM AUGUSTUS "COACH" KRETOWICZ, 81, of Red Bank died Nov. 19 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Keene, N.H., he lived in Rumson prior to moving to Red Bank 10 years ago. He was the founder of, and agent for, Adams Real Estate Agency, Rumson. He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank. He served with the U.S. Marines as a captain during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Red Bank; and sat on the Board of Trustees of Georgian Court College, Lakewood. An avid athlete, he founded the athletic program at Red Bank Catholic High School; was a nationally recognized collegiate football player drafted by the N.Y. Giants; and was an athletic scout for his alma mater, Holy Cross College, Mass. He was predeceased by his first wife of 40 years, Florence Davis Kretowicz; a daughter, Virginia Kretowicz; a granddaughter; four sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Fischer Kretowicz of Red Bank; two sons and one-daughter-in-law, Adam Augustus and Wendy Kretowicz Jr. of Wayland, Mass., and Michael David Kretowicz of San Francisco; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Carol Ann and Scott Comeau of Hingham, Mass., Florence Susan Guiver of Felton, Calif., Marylou and Edgar Mooney, Kathleen and Robert Petroff of Long Meadow, Mass., Annie Kretowicz of Atlanta, Ga., and Kim and Richard Nitto of Monmouth Beach; two sisters, Sylvia Abbott of Greensboro, N.C., and Joanne Anderson; 25 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Rumson.

DOROTHY P. ALTHERR KELLY, 88, of Tinton Falls died Dec. 14 at Jersey Shore Center, Eatontown. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she resided in Andover, Mass., and moved to Monmouth County in 1947. She was predeceased by her husbands, James Kelly, Ferris Altherr, and James Flynn Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Salava of Newmarket, N.H.; her son, Jimmy Flynn Jr. of Eatontown; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

MARK DeANGELO, 36, of Matawan died Dec. 14 at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City. Born in the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, he lived most of his life in Hazlet prior to moving to Matawan. He was a quality inspector for Driessen Services, Edison. He was a member of the local band, Falling Walls. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony DeAngelo, and his brother, Kevin DeAngelo. He is survived by his mother, Rita Silerto DeAngelo of Hazlet; two brothers, Gary DeAngelo of Hazlet, and Darren DeAngelo of Keansburg; three sisters, Kathryn Gormley and Christine Neff, both of Cherry Hill, Virginia DeFalco of West Keansburg; his fiancee, Susan Dunning of West Keansburg; and 12 nieces and nephews. A funeral service was offered at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hazlet. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

EDWIN (PAT) S. SHERMAN, 86, of Middletown died Dec. 1 at home. Born in Colts Neck, he resided in Middletown the past 51 years. He was caretaker of the L.K. Timolat estate, Middletown, for 44 years, retiring earlier this year. He was a member of the Colts Neck Reformed Church. He was a former member and ex-chief of the Colts Neck Fire Department. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Conway Sherman, in 1990. He is survived by his son, Wes Sherman of Oceanport; his daughter, Patricia K. Mahoney-Campbell of Manasquan; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Interment was at Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck.

CAROL-ANN PRESLEY, 58, of West Long Branch died Nov. 21 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident of Long Branch and West Long Branch. She was the librarian at the Ranney School, Tinton Falls, since 1978. She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was a member of the Monmouth County Librarians Association. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert G. Presley Sr., in 1977. She is survived by her son, Robert G. Presley Jr. of Long Branch; her daughter, Mary Catherine O’Donnell of West Long Branch; her mother, Evelyn Follansbee of Tinton Falls; her sister, Laurel Napolitani of Belvidere; four grandsons; and her longtime companion, Michael Gallagher. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Entombment was at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House, P.O. Box 3237, Long Branch 07740.

ROBERT T. MARTON, 59, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, died Dec. 3 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Red Bank prior to moving to Port Monmouth three years ago. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert W. and Ruth E. Dunphy Marton. He is survived by his brother, Barry Marton of Slidell, La.; two sisters, Barbara Poletis of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Betty Moore of Prescott, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was offered at AME Zion Church, Red Bank.

JAMES J. "JIM" COSTABILE, 87, of the Lincroft section of Middletown died Dec. 5 at Hospice Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in N.Y., he lived in Toms River, Bloomfield, and Newark prior to moving to Lincroft four years ago. He was a supervisor of bus information for NJ Transit, Maplewood, for 50 years, retiring 22 years ago. He was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Teresa Sicuranza Costabile, in 1987. He is survived by his son, Richard Costabile of Prince Frederick, Md.; his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and George Weiss of Red Bank; his brother, Louis Costabile of Gilroy, Calif.; three sisters, Lena Catallo of Long Branch, Florence Criscuolo of Parlin, and Helen Rescigno of Eatontown; his companion, Peggy Yeager of Lincroft; and five grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. Burial was at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

GERALD P. TOOMEY, 73, of Middletown died Nov. 19 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Los Angeles, he lived there before moving to Middletown in 1964. He was a consultant for Columbia Coastal, Liberty Corner. He was a president for Puerto Rico Marine Management, as well as executive vice president from 1963-73 for Sea Land Service, both Port Elizabeth. While at Sea Land, he was instrumental in starting up the first management training program for minority candidates. He was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, East Keansburg section of Middletown. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II and the Korean War. His volunteer activities included supporting several groups and organizations that aide underprivileged and minority children. He is survived by his wife, Velma L. Vogel Toomey, of Middletown; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael S. and Eileen Toomey of Red Bank; three daughters, Donna M. Toomey of San Francisco, Calif., Laura J. Paden of Middletown, and Nancy E. Toomey of San Francisco; his brother, Bernard Toomey of Los Angeles; two sisters, Claire Heard of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Barbara Toomey of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel, followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

ANTONIO BONADUCE, 74, of the Lincroft section of Middletown, died Dec. 2 at his son’s residence in Middletown. Born in Terma, Italy, he moved to the United States in 1935 and lived in Queens, N.Y., prior to relocating to Monmouth County in 1964. He was a maintenance supervisor for the state of New Jersey, Trenton, for 17 years. Prior to that, he worked for Lilly Tulip Co., Holmdel, for 35 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and attained the rank of seaman first class. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Bonaduce. He is survived by two sons, Michael A. Bonaduce of Tinton Falls, and Anthony Bonaduce of Middletown; his sister, Virginia Rafaniello of Northport, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, East Keansburg section of Middletown. Burial was at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo section of Middletown.

ELLEN KIESEL, 92, of Red Bank died Nov. 21 at Navesink House, Red Bank. Born in County Mayo, Ireland, she resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., for most of her life prior to moving to Red Bank four and a half years ago. She was the owner and operator of Ernie’s Bar and Grill, Bayridge, Brooklyn, for 35 years, retiring in 1980. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest, in 1968. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Ann Kiesel of Middletown; her daughter, Ellen Guarnieri of Toms River; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Burial was at Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island, N.Y.
