George Martin, 91, died Oct. 3 at the home of his daughter in Boca Raton, Fla. He was a rural letter carrier for the Matawan post office for 42 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Esther; his parents, Florence and George of Matawan; and his brothers, William, Frank and John of Matawan. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Terry Heath of Boca Raton with whom he resided; a grandson, Donald Mandy of Arizona; a sister, Lillian Heyer of Matawan; a brother-in-law, Monsignor John Koenig of Summit; and several nieces and nephews. Interment was at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hanover.

BERNARD McCALLION, 61, of the Morganville section of Marlboro died Oct. 15 at home. He was born in the Concord section of Staten Island, N.Y., and had resided in Rahway before moving to Morganville 31 years ago. Mr. McCallion was construction manager for the Limbach Co., Freehold, for the past three years; and had been construction manager for Johansen Co., South Plainfield, for 20 years. He was also the owner of Seafoam Construction, Rahway, for five years. Mr. McCallion was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro; a member of Carpenters Union Local 715, Elizabeth; and a member of Bella Vista Country Club, Marlboro. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Marilyn Sorensen McCallion; a son, Christopher of Freehold; two daughters, Jayne Petrizzo and Pamela McPaul, both of Jackson; a brother, Joseph of Washington; four sisters, Mary LaRosa of Lakehurst, Jeanne Cummings of Florida, Ellen O’Hare of Keyport and Trudy Johnson of Houston, Texas; and six grandchildren. The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Church, followed by burial at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Marlboro. The Waitt Funeral Home, Morganville, was in charge of arrangements.

EILEEN NIDOWICZ, 74, of Hazlet died Dec. 7 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New York City, she lived in Fair Lawn prior to moving to Hazlet several years ago. She was a bookkeeper for Smart Flex Electronics, Long Branch, for 15 years. Mrs. Nidowicz was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, in 1995. She is survived by two nieces, Eileen DeRay of Bloomfield, and Kathleen DeRay of Kearny. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach, with entombment at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.

ROBERT F. COLGAN, 72, of Hazlet died Dec. 8 in Yorktown, Va. Born in New York City, he had lived there until moving to Hazlet 40 years ago. He was a maintenance worker for Van Dorn Realty, New York City, for 20 years, retiring in 1994. Mr. Colgan served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Keyport Chapter. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maureen T. Doherty Colgan; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and Peter Moran of Greene, Maine, and Colleen and Zigi Pazos of Middletown, and Darleen Colgan of Hazlet; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Beth Colgan of Yorktown, Va.; one brother, Kenneth Colgan; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were arranged by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel.

NADINE JONES PANAGAKOS, 76, of Middletown died Dec. 7 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in War, W. Va., she retired to Winston-Salem, N.C., 12 years ago, and moved to Middletown three months ago. Prior to that, she lived in Eatontown. Mrs. Panagakos was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter W., in 1995. She is survived by three sons, Dennis and Richard Vaspory, both of Middletown, and William P. Panagakos of Long Branch; a daughter, Elizabeth Canonico of Middletown; a sister, Nelda Smith, and brother, Carl Jones, both of Florida; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services were arranged by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, NJ Affiliate Member Program, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902.

PERCY W. SICKLES, 90, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen died Dec. 8 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Union Beach, he had lived in Keyport before moving to Cliffwood Beach 59 years ago. Mr. Sickles was the owner and operator of S&S Auto Radiator, Union Beach, for several years before his retirement. He was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Keyport He was a member of the Caesarea Lodge Masonic Temple No. 64, Free and Accepted Masons, Keyport; a master mason of Chapter 120; and a member of the Order of Eastern Star New Jersey, Keyport. Mr. Sickles was predeceased by his wife, Ruth C., in 1997. He is survived by two daughters, Anna Keogh of Cliffwood Beach, and Alma Mihok of Laurence Harbor; one sister, Hazel Castagna of Nebraska; two brothers, William Sickles of Union Beach, and Robert Sickles of Hazlet; and one granddaughter. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport, with burial at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

ROBERT C. PAULSEN SR., 72, of Manalapan died Oct. 10 at home. He was born in Newark. He was the first director of the Manalapan Township Department of Public Works and was a certified public works manager. He retired in 1992 after 25 years of service. He and his wife owned and operated Paulsen Iron Works, Manalapan. He previously was employed by Wallace and Tiernan, Belleville; Worthington Pump, Harrison; Newark Oxwelding, Newark; and Pries Iron Works, Kearny. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, joining in 1947 and serving aboard the USS Gherardi D.M.S. 30. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1000, Trenton; St. John’s Lodge No. 1, Free and Accepted Masons, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; and Salaam Temple Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (the Shriners), Livingston. He was a member of the American Works Association; Public Works Association Region No. 5; Manalapan Militia Heritage Committee; Development Acquisition Committee; the Newark Police Auxiliary and Manalapan Police Auxiliary; and the Manalapan Parks and Recreation Commission. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Barbara, who died in 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Paulsen of Howell and Kim Rosenthal of Toms River; two sons, Robert Jr. of Arizona and Kurt of Manalapan; his mother, Zelda Paulsen of Maryland; a brother, John of Bloomfield; a sister, Joan Harding of Maryland; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

SERGEY BADUSHOV, 88, of Howell, died Oct. 9 at home. Born in Russia, he came to the United States in 1952 and settled in Howell. Mr. Badushov worked in the maintenance department at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, for 20 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Rashi Gempil-Ling Buddhist Temple, Howell. He was predeceased by his wife, Dusa, who died in May. Mr. Badushov is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Lisa Badushov of Howell; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held at the Rashi Gempil-Ling Buddhist Temple, followed by interment in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Jackson.

AUDREY H. SCHIERECK, 84, of Howell, died Sept. 27 at home. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she had lived in Manalapan before moving to Howell two years ago. Mrs. Schiereck was the executive secretary to the superintendent of the Freehold Borough schools. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles L., who died in 1985 Surviving are two sons, Charles L. Jr. of Stewartsville and Lawrence J. of Oxford; two daughters, Ellen R. Schiereck of Bridgewater and Audrey Schiereck of Howell; and five grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Colts Neck, followed by interment in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250l, Dallas, Texas 75244.
