October 3, 1997 of Blasdell, NY, beloved wife of the late Stanley W. Gawlak, Sr.; dearest mother of Robert (Margaret), Paul (Gail), Stanley Jr. (Cathy), Dennis (Janice), Ronald (Shelly) and Cynthia (Steven) Podkulski; sister of the late Walter J. (Celia) Toporek and Mary (Kenneth) Peters; also survived by 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from the (Blasdell Chapel) of the JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3748 South Park Ave. and at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church at 9:30. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends invited. Family present Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9.

FIX - Dennis C.

Age 51, of the Town of Pendleton; October 5, 1997, in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Thuman) Fix of Pendleton; father of Jason, Melody and Valerie Fix all at home; son of Edna (nee Ammerman) Fix and the late Charles Fix; brother of Bruce (Mary Jo) Fix of Wheatfield and Noreen (Charles) Mong of York, PA; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the FRETTHOLD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. North Tonawanda on Monday 7-9 PM and on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayers will be said at the Funeral Home at 9:15 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM from Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 5442 Tonawanda Creed Road in Pendleton. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. Mr. Fix was a member of the American Legion Wheatfield Post, the International Association of Aerospace and Machinists Union. He was a former employee of the Columbus McKinnon Corp. and was the union President. He was currently employed at Midlan Machinery. If so desired, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

FORSYTH - Ethel L. (Cummings)

October 1, 1997, predeceased by her husbands Lawrence Bailey and William Forsyth. She is survived by her sons Donald (Florence) Bailey of Rochester NY and Lawrence (Jean, Deceased) Bailey of Richardson TX; daughter Bonnie (Roland) Bailey Drew, of St. Regis Falls NY; brother Arthur (Mary) Cummings of Lackawanna NY; step-son Walter (Cheryle) Forsyth and step-daughter Rena (Edward) Reardon of Venice FL; she is also survived by several grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Union Presbyterian Church, 67 Lake Ave, Blasdell NY on October 8 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may contribute in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, WNY Chapter, 1605 Kenmore Ave, Kenmore NY 14217, or to a charity of choice.

October 5, 1997; of Buffalo; beloved husband of Mary (Porpiglia); dearest father of Michael A. (Jean M.), Frank J. (Mary A.) Gentile, Carol A. (Ronald E.) Ciura and Donna M. (Joseph H.) Bauer; brother of Enrico (Carrie), Guiseppe (Briget) Gentile and the late Anthony and Louis (late Edna) Gentile; also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday (only) from 2-4 and 7-9 at the South Buffalo Chapel of the JOSEPH K. QUINN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 192 Abbott Road (near Southside Pkwy.) where funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 8:45 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Holy Family at 9:30. Friends invited. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials to the American Heart Association appreciated. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
