ARGO, THOMAS

Thomas J. Argo 86, of Mahopac, NY passed away on January 20, 2011. Mr. Argo was born on April 14, 1924 in New York City to Joseph and Lillian (Daiello) Argo. Mr. Argo proudly served his Country with the US Marines during WWII. On April 5, 1947 he married Marie Amodeo in NYC. He worked for the Liten Company in NYC as a Technician. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marie, his loving sons; Thomas and Robert, his brother Alfonse, four adoring grandchildren and four wonderful great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc. AVILES, MICHELLE

Michelle Aviles of Haverstraw passed away tragically on January 16, 2011. She is the infant daughter of Lissette Capellan. Michelle is survived by her loving grandparents Lino and Kenia Capallan; her loving uncle Lizandro Capellan, and many loving relatives and friends. BALEZENTIS, STELLA

Stella Balezentis, 94, passed away, Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home. Stella was predeceased by her parents, Itria (Lupo) and Colegrio Mancuso, her beloved husband, George Balezentis and brothers, Salvatore, Thomas and Americo (Ralph) and sister, Lena. Stella is the cherished mother of son, Gilbert (Mary) and daughter, Georgette Cincotta (Dominic). She is the devoted grandmother of nine; Thomas, Patricia and Christopher Balezentis, Dr. Susan Balezentis Cats (Luke), and Karen Hanney (Michael), Dominic Jr. and Cheryl Cincotta, Beth Ann Canero (Charles), Deborah Estelle Giordano (Steven). Stella is the loving great- grandmother of Christopher Quintos, Kaitlyn and Michael Hanney, Daniel and Jonathan Cats and Charles and Jerome Canero. Visitation at Duchynski-Cherko Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday, January 23rd , from 2-4PM and 79PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 24, 2011, at Sacred Heart Church at 9:30AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

BASKERVILLE, ROBERT L.

Robert L. Baskerville, a co-founder of the Mt. Vernon Razorbacks, fondly known as "Mr. B," passed away January 16, 2011 in Dacula, Georgia. Expressions of sympathy may be presented at a local memorial service to be held in the coming weeks.

BERGER, DR. ZDENEK

Dr. Zdenek Berger, 90, of New Rochelle, passed away on December 2, 2010. He was born on October 11, 1920 in what is now the Czech Republic, and received his L.L.D. and J.D. degrees from Charles University in Prague. After immigrating to the United States, he earned an M.B.A. from New York University. He married Lorna Waller in 1958. They moved to New Rochelle in 1959, where they raised three children. Dr. Berger, known to his friends as "Sid" was on the faculty of the department of management at the Hagan School of Business at Iona College, from which he retired as a full professor after more than 30 years of service. He was a parishioner at Church of the Holy Trinity in New Rochelle. Dr. Berger is survived by his wife, Lorna, his three children: Karen, Denise, and Judith, and six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Iona College. A Memorial Service will be held at 3. p.m. Monday January 24 at the Arrigoni Center at Iona College GEORGE T. BIORDI, ANNA

Anna Biordi of Montrose, NY, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011. She was 78 years old. Anna was born on December 22, 1932 to James and Agnes (Robertson) Costello in New York City. She graduated from George Washington High School in New York City. She is survived by her loving daughters and son, Joanne Palmer and her husband Jack of LaLuz, NM, Elizabeth Nichols and her husband Bob of Montrose, NY and James Biordi and his wife Anne of Wappingers Falls, NY. She is also survived by 3 adoring grandchildren, Kendall Palmer and his wife Carrie Ann, Cathryn Biordi and Allyson Biordi. Anna was predeceased by her husband Samuel and son Samuel Jr. "Slater” Biordi. Anna left behind many friends and neighbors whose lives she has positively influenced. She was the founder of the "Monday Night Women's Group” which greatly impacted many of the women who participated over the past 20 years. We would like to thank all the women in the group for their friendship and kindness, especially her beloved friend Alice. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd., Montrose, NY 10548. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 22nd at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Verplanck, NY.

CAPONE, CARMELINA

Carmelina Capone of Putnam Valley, NY passed away on January 20, 2011. She was 71 years old. A seamstress, Mrs. Capone was born on April 22, 1939 in Italy to Eugene and Rosalia Razza Bizzarro. On September 21, 1959 she married Mario Capone at the Assumption Church in Peekskill, NY. Carmelina is survived by her husband Mario Capone of Putnam Valley, three children; Teresa (Steven) Jones of Mohegan Lake, Rosalia (Sam) Vivenzio of Pine Bush and Gina Capone of Putnam Valley and five grandchildren; Cristina Jones, Michael Jones, Maria Vivenzio, Carmelina Vivenzio and Vinnie Vivenzio. Also surviving are three sisters; Franca Lanni of Italy, Cristina Serino of Cortlandt Manor, MaryLou Ripari of Shrub Oak and two brothers; Saverio Bizzarro of New Jersey and Lorenzo Bizzarro of Italy. Visitation is today, Friday, 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 22nd, 10AM at the Assumption Church. CLUNE, BARBARA

Barbara Clune, a longtime resident of Mamaroneck, died on January 19, 2011. She was 75. Mrs. Clune was born on January 28, 1935 in New York City to the late Edward J. and Blanche (Covi) Basso. On February 16, 1957 she married J. Russell Clune. He died in 1996. She is survived by her sons, J. Russell Jr. of Gardiner, NY, Kevin and his wife Jeanne of Mount Kisco, NY, and Timothy and his wife Theresa of Lynnwood, WA; five granddaughters, Meaghan, Tara, Kelley, Mayv, and Briana; and a brother, Edward C. Basso of Wilmington, NC. She is predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen. Visiting Saturday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle, where a service will be held Sunday 11am.

DEPABON, THERESA

Theresa DePabon, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on January 18, 2011. She was 98. Mrs. DePabon was born on February 26, 1912 in New York City to the late Ignatius and Anna (Orban) Nagy. She is predeceased by her husband Arnold and five sisters. She is survived by her daughter Angela DiMarino and her husband Vito; two grandsons, Daniel and his wife Elizabeth and Vito and his wife Patricia; and a great granddaughter, Gianna. Visiting Friday 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. Mass Saturday 9:30am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

DOUGLAS, OONAH SKINNER

Oonah Skinner Douglas of Suffern, NY passed away January 18, 2011 at the age of 85. She was was born born in Brooklyn, NY and later grew up in New Dorp on Staten Island, NY.She graduated from St Luke's School of Nursing in Manhattan and then went on to Syracuse University to finish her degree in education. At this time she practiced public health nursing in upstate, NY. She will mostly be remembered as "Mrs. Douglas" the school nurse teacher at Suffern High School for 28 years. During the summer months she enjoyed taking the census in Suffern, Hillburn, and Sloatsburg. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher all her life. Many summer vacations were spent with her family on Long Beach Island. She was involved with the Suffern Woman's Club and arranged many of their wonderful trips. After she retired she also volunteered at many senior centers taking vitals in the community. She was an active member of the Viola Methodist Church in Suffern. After her retirement her dream was to travel the world. Some of her favorite places she traveled to were Russia, Finland, Ireland, and a cruise around the tip of South America. Above all she cherished the fact she could raise her family with wonderful neighbors that still keep in touch with one another to this day. She is survived by two daughters Alison Douglas Harvey and her husband Steve of Sloatsburg, NY, Dale Douglas Meier and her husband Bill of Newtown, Ct., and a son David E. Douglas and his wife Nancy of Annapolis, Md. She is also survived by four beautiful grandchildren, Brittany and Christopher Meier, and Stefanie and Victoria Douglas; she is also survived by her nephew, Robert Bruce Bowe of Staten Island, NY and her niece Lisa Bowe of Hobe Sound Fl. She is also survived by a very special person, Wally Folkins, who made the final years of her life a fairy tale. She is predeceased by her husband Edward W.E. Douglas and her sister Doris Skinner Bowe. Oonahs' Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Viola United Methodist Church 161 Viola Road Suffern NY burial will follow at Airmont Cemetery in Airmont NY. Friends may call on Friday January 21, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Scarr Funeral Home Inc Route 202 Suffern. KOCH, ADOLPH F.

Adolph F. Koch of Woodcliff Lake, NJ passed away January 19, 2011. He was 81. Adolph was born July 26, 1929 in NYC to Franz and Ottilie (Schaedle) Koch. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. Adolph married Caroline (Ceol) on August 25, 1954 in NYC she predeceased him on January 9, 2007. He was a Rockland resident for 35 years prior to that New York City and then resided in Manchester NJ and recently moved to Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. Adolph worked for Union Carbide Company in Sterling Forest, NY as a Manager for 30 years. Adolph is survived by his daughters, Diane and Frank Lambert and Laura and Thomas Koenig. Grandchildren, Tara and Michael Heath, Kristen Lambert and Tamsin Koch, and one great granddaughter, Kaylee Heath. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral home in Stony Point. Religious services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM in the Funeral home with entombment to follow in Garden of Memories Mausoleum in Paramus, NJ. MICHAEL J. LEONE, FRANCES HELEN (NEE ADAMS)

Frances Helen Leone (nee Adams) passed away with her children by her side on January 19, 2011 after a courageous 6 and a half year battle with lung cancer. Frances was born on April 6, 1943 to Joseph and Josephine Adams. She was raised in the Bronx, NY and attended Saint Adalbert Catholic School. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dino Leone, where they lived in Tappan for 36 years; her children, John Leonard (Michelle), Stephen Leonard (Carolyn), Donna (Leonard) Roper, Gina Leone (Ben Warren), Elena (Leone) Temple, Rosary (Leone) Holmes (Eric); her 13 grandchildren, Daniel, John Michael, and Brian Leonard, Caitlin, Emma, and Ally Leonard, Kevin, Kory, Kayla, and Kyle Roper, Olivia Temple, Sophia and Julia Holmes and her siblings, Frank Adams, Josephine Scotti, and Julia Guyt. She had so much love in her heart that she welcomed both Anthony Mercurio and Jonathan Morales into her family. She is predeceased by her two children Dina and Dino Leone and her brother Joey Adams. She is now joining her angels in heaven. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 24th, 10 am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan with burial to follow at Tappan Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm, at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
