FERRARO, ERNEST

Ernest Ferraro, devoted and loving husband and father, died March 23, 2010, of spinal meningitis at age 44. Son of Ernest and Beatrice Imperato Ferraro of Irvington, N.Y., Ernie was a graduate of Irvington High School (1983), Villanova University (1987) and Fordham University School of Law (1993). He was a founding partner of the Ferraro & Wyatt law firm of New York City. Ernie's passion for learning led him to many diverse arenas. He was an avid snowboarder, mountain biker and tri-athelete. He became an accomplished woodworker, a technology and gadget "guru", an enthusiastic chef, and the family's general "go-to guy". His passion for life, his good humor, and his deep commitment to his family will be forever missed. In addition to his wife, Sharon, and his three children — Olivia, 10, Nicholas, 6, and Andrew, 2 — he is survived by his parents and his sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Jim Eckler. FLOOD, ALLEN J.

Dear Friends, Family & Business Associates: On the morning of June 13, 2010, Allen Joseph Flood, passed away. Allen was the founder of The Allen J. Flood Companies and Huguenot National, Inc. He is survived by his wife, Muriel, his eight children (four of whom work in the companies), his brother, Eric, and 21 grandchildren. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our father; yet, celebrate his achievements as a husband, father, friend and a business man, whose actions were synonymous with professionalism and integrity. One viewing will be held at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home (www.coxegraziano.com), 767 East Boston Post Rd., Mamaroneck, New York on the morning of June 16, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral mass will follow immediately thereafter at Sts. John & Paul Church (www.catholic-church.org/sjp), Larchmont, New York. GAMM, IRENE

Irene Gamm, passed away June 14, 2010 at age 98. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Alexander, daughter Beverly Marinoff, and sister Molly Freda. Survived by her loving children Barbara (Richard) Frenkel and Diana (Howard) Wendy, adoring grandchildren Jennifer Wendy (Andrew Beckler), Robert Frenkel, David Marinoff (Alyson Spindell), Michelle (Matthew) Wolfson, Joseph Frenkel (Maria Litzendorf), Steven Marinoff, Elisabeth (Mark) Heiman, Patricia Marinoff, and eight cherished great grandchildren. Funeral service Wednesday 12 noon at Community Synagogue of Rye, followed by interment at Sharon Gardens Cemetery.

GROSSO, DANIEL

Daniel J Grosso, A lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died on June 13, 2010. He was 95. Daniel was born on November 28, 1914 to the late Dominick and Angelina Grosso. He worked for many years for The New Haven Railroad. He served in the Army during WWII and was an active communicant of St. Joseph's Church and the Hugh Dolye Senior Center. He was a volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club for over 50 years. He was predeceased by his wife the former Grace Dunn who died in 2000. He is survived by his two sons: Dominic G. Grosso and Daniel J. Grosso Jr.; two grandchildren Lisa Marsico and Timothy Grosso NRPD; three great grandchildren Elizabeth, Benjamin and Laura. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9PM at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Pl, New Rochelle. Mass Wednesday 10:00AM at St. Joseph Church Church. Interment at Beechwoods Cemetery.

HARTL, BERTHA

Bertha Hartl. 97, of Valley Cottage, passed away peacefully at Nyack Hospital on June 13th, 2010. Bertha was born September 9th, 1912 in Gurahumora, Romania, the daughter of Josef and Maria Schindelar. After losing her home in World War II, being separated from her husband who was thought to be dead and spending a year fleeing enemy troops with her children. Bertha was reunited with her husband and in 1951 emigrated to the United States, settling in Valley Cottage. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, her husband Alfred, a son, Walter, brothers, Stefan and John and her sister, Hilda. She is survived by her children, Walter (Kathleen) Hartl of Congers and Rita (Hugh) Hamer of Campbell Hall, New York. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Walter (Paige) Hartl and Lisa (Tom) LeFebvre. as well as six great grandchildren Grace, Will and Dean Hartl and Thomas, Kristen and Joseph LeFebvre. She is also survived by her good friend Marlene Rossow. Bertha was a member of St. Paul's Church in Valley Cottage, loved to crochet and many, many people have baby blankets made by "Tante Madi". Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main Street, New City, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thursday 11 AM at St. Paul's Church, Congers, New York with burial to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. HUNTER, JANICE

Janice Marie Hunter (Millspaugh), age 81, died June 10, 2010 after a brief illness. She was born January 15, 1929 in Suffern, New York and raised her family there. She also lived in Townsend, Montana, Zapata, Texas, Long Neck, Delaware, and Beaver Falls, PA. She spent the last six weeks of her life in Jamestown, New York, on Chautauqua Lake. Janice was predeceased by her parents, James and Mable Millspaugh of Suffern, NY, her brother Robert Millspaugh of Inverness, Florida, and her husband of 49 years, John Henry Hunter Jr. She is survived by her beloved sons Jeff (Beth) of Maple Springs, NY, and Daniel (Kevin) of Seaford, DE, loving nieces and nephews, and four grandchildren, Lisa and Kayla Hunter and Matt and Morgan McCollum. A memorial service will be held June 26th at Chautauqua Lake, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice's honor may be made to the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center, 715 Falconer Street, Jamestown, NY 147011997.

MUNGO, CATHERINE

Catherine Mungo, 72, peacefully passed away on June 13, 2010 surrounded by her family. Born to Francesco & Maria Abatino on April 28, 1938 in Italy. Catherine married Frank Mungo on February 26, 1955. Catherine owned and operated Pleasantville Deli with her sister Betty and the Young Years Children's Shop in Thornwood. Most recently she worked at Archbishop Stepinac HS. She enjoyed cooking and baking and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was known to many as "Aunt Cathy" and was a true source of love and kindness to all who knew her. Cathy lived in White Plains with her niece Felicia Lotito and her family. She will be deeply missed. Survived by two brothers; Joseph (Lisa) and Tony (Rose) Abatino of White Plains, two sisters; Vicky (Umberto) Puja of White Plains and Amy (Gene) Zuffelato of CT. She is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank in 1997 and a sister Betty. Visitation will be Tuesday 4 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday 10 AM Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. NOLAN, LAWRENCE M

Lawrence M. Nolan passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010. He was 62 years old. Larry was born in Manhattan on June 13, 1947 to Bill and Phyllis Nolan. He and his brother, Ed, lived in Flushing, Queens for most of their childhoods. Larry attended Long Island University and Pace University, becoming a business manager for Volunteers of America in Westchester County. Larry and his wife, Patricia, moved to Congers, NY in 1983, where they raised their four sons. Larry loved coaching and umpiring for Congers Little League Baseball. He was a big San Francisco Giants and Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed Clint Eastwood and James Bond films and was a huge history buff. Larry moved to Milford, CT in 1996 and took advantage of living nearby the Long Island Sound. His favorite memories include spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Phyllis of Queens; four sons, Michael, Kevin, Brendan, and Brian; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; grandsons, Kevin and James; ex-wife, Patricia; brother, Ed and his wife Maura; nephew and godson Christopher; nieces Tara and Heather; and dear friend Catherine. Antoinette C. Penzola of Yonkers, NY, died on June 13, 2010 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY. Beloved wife of the late Louis Penzola. Cherished mother of Joseph P.(Nancy) Penzola, grandmother of Heather Dooley. Loving sister of Amelia Orlando. Pre-deceased by two brothers Philip and Frank Orlando. Paulette Ricucci of New City passed away on Friday June 12, 2010 at the age of 69. Paulette was born on March 25, 1941 in Manhattan to Frank and Jennie (Aurrichio) Tateo. On Nov. 3, 1962 she married George Ricucci at Our Lady Of Assumption Church in the Bronx, NY. Many years ago Paulette became a Born Again Christian and enjoyed belonging to the Bible Study Group. Paulette is survived by her loving husband, George, devoted daughter, Danielle Spitz and her husband Andrew of Santa Barbara, Calif., her cherished grandchildren, Haley and Kendall.
