The Rev. Fred E. Hinderliter, 76, of Petoff Garden Apartments, Broadalbin,
died Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a long illness.
Born Oct. 30, 1920 in Ringold, Pa., he was the son of Charles B. and
Margaret J. Boles Hunderliter.
The reverend resided in Ephratah for six years before moving to Broadalbin
in April. He was a 1953 graduate of the Allentown Bible College in Pennsylvania
and previously a graduate of Strattonville High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy for a short period during World War II.
He was pastor with the Pilgrim Holiness Church of New York Conference
and served as pastor of churches in Russell, Fultonville; Geneva, Pa. and
last at Harrisville, where he retired in 1990.
He married Evelyn Chapman on June 11, 1939.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, Larry A. Hinderliter
of Powder Springs, Ga., Dean E. Hinderliter of Fultonville, Fred P. Hinderliter
of Gloversville and James M. Hinderliter of Ephratah; three daughters,
Teresa Monk of Sprakers, Sharon R. Major of Grand Gorge, and Wanda Antos
of Perth; four brothers, Burke Hinderliter of New Bethlehem, Pa., Leo Hinderliter
of Hawthorne, Pa., Russell Hinderliter of New Bethlehem, Pa. and Dean Hinderliter
of Mayport, Pa.; 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Broadalbin
Baptist Church. Burial will be at Ephratah Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Jeffords
Chapel, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin.

Marie Krempa
Mrs. Marie Moltzen Krempa, 77, of Trackside Homes, Johnstown, died Monday
at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after a long illness.
A lifelong Johnstown resident, Mrs. Krempa was a 1938 graduate of Johnstown
High School.
At one time, she worked for General Telephone Co. of Upstate New York.
From 1965 to 1982, she was a receptionist for Fulton County Infirmary before
retiring.
Mrs. Krempa was a member of the Johnstown Women of the Moose.
Her husband, John H. Krempa, died in 1983.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Kilmartin of Caroga Lake, and
a grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Barter
& Donnan Funeral Home, Main and Melcher streets, Johnstown. Spring
burial will be in Northbush Cemetery, Caroga Lake.
A calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association
or the American Cancer Society.
Eva Yager
Mrs. Eva Yager, 86, formerly of Johnstown, died Tuesday at the Fulton
County Infirmary in Gloversville.
Mrs. Yager was born in Rifton, Ulster County.
She worked for the former George Johns Glove Co. in Johnstown until
retiring in 1956.
She was a communicant of the St. John's Episcopal Church.
Her husband, Lloyd Yager, whom she married Sept. 28, 1927, died in 1978.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Dingmon of Johnstown; Leah
Crannell of Gloversville, and Jean Allen of Anaheim, Calif.; 10 grandchildren;
and 11 great-grandchildren.
There are no services or calling hours.
Cremation took place at Vale Crematory, Schenectady, with burial to
be in Hill Crest Memorial Gardens, Vero Beach, Fla.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fulton County Infirmary, 847 County
Route 122, Gloversville, 12078.
Arrangements are by the A.G. Cole Funeral Home.
DeWaine Rauer
DeWaine Rauer, 86, formerly of Bleecker Stage, Johnstown, died Monday
at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville after being stricken at the
Wells Nursing Home, where he had been a patient since February.
Born in Johnstown, Mr. Rauer was a 1929 graduate of Johnstown High School.
Until his retirement in 1980, Mr. Rauer owned and operated Adirondack
Communications, a two-way radio installation and repair service.
Mr. Rauer was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
A first degree Mason, he was a member of St. Patrick's Lodge 4; and
was also a member of the Johnstown Lions Club.
His wife, Jessie Richards Rauer, died in 1992.
Mr. Rauer is survived by a sister, Ruth Dorn of Johnstown, and a brother,
Carl Rauer of Oppenheim.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Christ Lutheran
Church, 1 W. Montgomery St.
Cremation took place at Vale Crematory in Schenectady, with burial to
be in Johnstown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wells Nursing Home, 201 W. Madison
Ave., Johnstown, 12095.

Josephine Przybylo
Josephine S. Przybylo, 79, of Guilderland, died Tuesday morning at the
Oneida Healthcare Facility in Oneida after a long illness.
Born Feb. 22, 1917 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Michael and
Josephine Bruzdowski Wytrwal. She was a lifelong area resident until moving
to Guilderland in 1986.
Mrs. Przybylo was educated in local schools.
She worked for her family's business, The Wytrwal Furniture Store in
Amsterdam and later was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Organization
in Amsterdam.
Mrs. Przybylo was a member of St. Stanislaus Church and its Rosary Society
and was a communicant of St. Madeline Sophie Church in Guilderland.
She married Alexander F. Przybylo on Oct. 25, 1942.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Alexandra
Burns of Guilderland, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Amsterdam
Funeral Chapel, 13 Belmont Place, followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass of Christian
Burial at St. Stanislaus Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association
or the American Lung Association of Northeastern New York State in care
of the funeral home.
Caroline Hoke
Mrs. Caroline L. Hoke, 85, of the St. Johnsville Nursing Home, died
Monday evening at Little Falls Hospital after a long illness.
Born Sept, 28, 1911 in Little Falls, she was the daughter of Frank Boepple
and August Euron Boepple. She was educated in Little Falls schools and
was a lifelong area resident.
She owned and operated a dairy farm in Fordsbush for 43 years. She retired
in 1974.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
She married Walter Bergen in Little Falls in 1931. He died in 1957.
She then married Donale Hoke in 1961. He died in 1989. She was also predeceased
by a daughter, Betty Bergen Snyder, in February, 1987; and by a son, Henry
Bergen, May of 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Caroline Mabbett of Fort Plain; a son,
Walter Bergen Jr. of Canajoharie; a brother, George Boepple of Little Falls;
a step-sister, Minnie Smith of Little Falls; a step-brother, Elmer Doxstader
of Brookfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Hoke is also
survived by 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gray-Houghtaling
& Smith Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain, with the Rev. Kenneth
Dingman officiating. Burial will take place in Fort Plain Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral
home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort
Plain.
Josephine Staszewski
Miss Josephine Staszewski, 92, of Slater Street, Amsterdam, died this
morning at the Montgomery Meadows Residential Health Care Facility.
Arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of the Jendrzejczak
Funeral Home, 200 Church St., Amsterdam.
Jordan Palos
Jordan L. Palos 61, of Phillip Road, Fort Plain, died Tuesday at Little
Falls Hospital.
Born July 26, 1935, in New York City, he was the son of Lazaros and
Donna Constantides. He graduated from Jamaica High School in Queens in
1952, and later attended Columbia University. He received an associate's
degree in nursing from Dutchess County Community College in 1985.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1960.
Mr. Palos was a self-employed certified tax preparer. He was also employed
by Carlyle Hotel in New York as a night manger and auditor for more than
10 years. Later, he was employed by IBM Corp. as a tax accountant for nine
years in Franklin Lakes, N.J. For several years he was employed by the
New York state Wassaic Developmental Center.
Mr. Palos was a member of the Theodoroi Greek Orthodox Church of Gloversville
and also a member of Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in Johnstown;
and a member of the Fort Plain Central School District AIDS Committee.
Survivors include his mother, of Lake Grove; his wife, Nancy Goodness,
whom he married Sept. 23, 1961; two sons, Nicholas Palos of the Bronx and
Stephan Palos of Kingston; two daughters, Christina Dubois of New Paltz
and Emilie Brown of Fort Plain; two brothers, John Palos of Little Neck
and James Palos of Staten Island; a sister, Paraskevi (Peggie) Palos of
Lake Grove; and two grandchildren.
Calling hours are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hollenbeck
Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville.
The funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at the Theodoroi Greek Orthodox
Church, 70 Washington St., Gloversville, with the Rev. Peter Daratsos officiating.
Interment is Monday in Brunswick Rural Cemetery, New Paltz.
Josephine Staszewski
Josephine Staszewski, 92, of Slater Street, Amsterdam, died Wednesday
morning at the Montgomery Meadows Residential Health Care Facility after
a long illness.
She was born Aug. 31, 1904, in Amsterdam, the daughter of Anthony and
Anna Dybas Staszewski. She was educated locally and was a lifelong area
resident.
Miss Staszewski was employed by Ward Products Co. for many years, retiring
in 1972. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.
Survivors include a sister, Emily Ferris of Medford, N.J.; a brother,
William Staszewski of Amsterdam; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral is at noon Saturday at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200
Church St., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30
p.m. at St. Stanislaus Church.
Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Friday.

of one's choice.
Gerardo Giuseppe Loffredo
Gerardo Giuseppe Loffredo, 5 years old, of Fowler Street, Hagaman, died
Wednesday at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J.
Born June 19, 1991 in Niskayuna, he was the son of Antonio and Gaetana
"Tina" Speranza Loffredo. He had attended St. Mary's Institute in Amsterdam
and for the past three weeks had attended St. Francis Cabrini School in
Piscataway, N.J. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Luciano M.
Loffredo, also of Hagaman; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Giuseppe
Speranza of Amsterdam; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerardo
Loffredo of Salerno, Italy; his maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Vito Cutri of Pisciotta, Italy; three uncles, Vito and Antonio Speranza
of Amsterdam; and Francesco Loffredo of Salerno, Italy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Rossi
Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, Amsterdam, followed at 9 a.m. by a Mass
of the Angels at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.
Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Amsterdam.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Regina Pawloski
Mrs. Regina A. Pawloski, 79, of Reid Street, Amsterdam, died Wednesday
at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born Aug. 13, 1917 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Stanislaw
and Sophia Milewski. She was an Amsterdam since 1947. Mrs. Pawloski had
been employed by the former Larabee's Department Store in Amsterdam for
many years. She then accepted a position with the New York State Department
of Transportation, retiring several years ago.
Mrs. Pawloski was a communicate of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church
in Amsterdam.
She married Edward S. Pawloski on April 19, 1947. He died April 13,
1985.
Survivors include her son, James E. Pawloski of Amsterdam; her daughter,
Barbara J. Morgan of New York City, her sister, Helen M. Silka of Amsterdam,
three grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Rossi
Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place, Amsterdam, followed at noon by a Mass of
Christian Burial at St. Stanislaus Church.
Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home.

Lillian "Lynn" McGee
Lillian E. "Lynn" McGee, 84, of 9 E. Main St., St. Johnsville, died
Wednesday at St. Luke's Hospital in New Hartford.
Born Nov. 30, 1911 in Moores, she was the daughter of the late Stanley
and Olive (Niles) O'Brien. She was a 1932 graduate of St. Johnsville High
School and moved to the St. Johnsville area in 1924.
She married Bart McGee on April 16, 1934. He died Nov. 23, 1986.
Mrs. McGee was last employed at Allergo Shoe Corp., retiring in 1974.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and St. Johnsville Senior Citizens
and a former member of the St. Johnsville Board of Elections for 40 years
and also a former member of St. Johnsville Fire Department Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, Patrick McGee of Albany; a daughter, Mary Davanzo
of St. Johnsville; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Smith-Woody
and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, and at 9:30 a.m. at
St. Patrick's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
by the Rev. Paseal Iannotti.
Burial will be in West St. Johnsville Cemetery in the spring.

Stephan Burak Sr.
Stephan Burak Sr., 71, of 45 Milton Ave., Amsterdam, died Thursday morning
at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
Born Aug. 19, 1925 in Brooklyn, Mr. Burak was the son of Dmytro and
Paraska Dubshak Burak.
He was educated in Brooklyn and moved to Amsterdam in 1948. He was employed
by Mohasco Industries in Amsterdam, and for 14 years, was employed by the
Montgomery County Infirmary in Amsterdam until retiring in 1987.
Mr. Burak was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served in
the European Theatre of Operations and later reenlisted in the U.S. Air
Force during the Korean War, serving at an ordnance supply station in Japan.
Mr. Burak was a member of the John J. Wyszomirski Post 701, American
Legion in Amsterdam and the 40 & 8 Voiture 814.
Mr. Burak was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in
Amsterdam.
He married Henrietta Burak on Jan. 18, 1946.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Stephan Burak Jr.
of Fonda and Martin Burak of Amsterdam; two sisters, Ann McCrary of Amsterdam
and Elsie Nazryk of Flushing; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter,
and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Betz Funeral
Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, with the Rev. William E. Siiss
officiating.
Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam.
