Barbara Campbell, 75, a resident of Montgomery Meadows Health Care Facility, died Friday morning after a long illness.

Born Oct. 7, 1921, she was of the Protestant faith. 

There are no known survivors.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Rossi Funeral Home, 11 Mohawk Place.
 

Edward Pasquarella
March 20, 1997

Dr. Edward J. Pasquarella, 61, of Gloversville, died suddenly Thursday in Las Vegas, Nev. while attending a trauma medical conference.

Born March 31, 1935 in Schenectady, he was the son of Arthur and Rose Eats Pasquariello.

Dr. Pasquarella was a 1953 graduate of the former Draper High School in Schenectady. After high school he joined the Air National Guard during which time he was on call for the Berlin crisis. During the Golf War, he served for three months in Omar, Saudi Arabia in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He attained the rank of Colonel before retiring in April, 1995.

He was a 1959 graduate of the Albany School of Pharmacy in Albany. He received his medical degree in orthopedic surgery in 1967 from Bologna University, Bologna, Italy. He served his residency at what is now Nassau Medical Center, Hempstead, Long Island. He went into private practice in Gloversville in 1972. He moved his practice to Palm Springs, Calif., in 1979. In 1982, he moved the practice back to Gloversville.

Survivors include his wife, the former Marilyn Boecke; three daughters, Janeen Renda of Gloversville, Rosemarie James of Foley, Ala., and Sharon Pasquarella of Gloversville; two sons, Edward A. Pasquarella of Mayfield and Arthur M. Pasquarella of Schenectady; a brother, Richard Pasquarella of Rotterdam; a sister, Marie Cimino of Rotterdam; five grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the N. Rossi & Sons Funeral Home, Union and Jay streets, Schenectady.

Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard A. Carlino officiating.

Burial will be in Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
 

Edmund Dybas
March 21, 1997

Edmund P. Dybas, 81, of Church Street, Amsterdam, died Friday evening at St. Mary's Hospital.

He was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Amsterdam, a son of Albert and Helen Pasterska Dybas. He was educated locally and was a lifelong area resident.

During World War II, Mr. Dybas served in the U.S. Army.

He was employed by the former Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Company and the New York State Thruway Authority. He worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady as a crane operator in the large motor and generator department before retiring in 1977.

Mr. Dybas was a member of the St. Stanislaus Church and its senior citizens group. He also was a member of the former PNL Club and St. John's Club. 

Survivors include his wife, the former Laura J. Pieklowski, whom he married Nov. 24, 1938; a son, David J. Dybas of Amsterdam; a sister, Mary Carp of Amsterdam; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Jendrzejczak Funeral Home, 200 Church Street. 

Services will be conducted 8:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. 

Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church or the Mt. Loretto Chapel Fund.
 

David Graham
March 21, 1997

David N. Graham, 38, of Old State Road, died Friday evening at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after being stricken at home. 

He was born in Niskayuna on Nov. 6, 1958, the son of the late Olin and Edith Dougall Graham and was educated at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School. He resided in the Galway area since 1984 and moved to Broadalbin two years ago.

Most recently, Mr. Graham was employed as a transportation therapy aide with the Independent Living Center in Amsterdam,

Survivors include four brothers, Staff Master Sergeant James B. Graham, stationed in San Antonio, Texas, Thomas B. Graham of Galway, John O. Graham and Paul A. Graham, both of Schenectady; a sister, Patti J. Robin of Schenectady; his fiancée, Carol Henderson of Broadalbin; six grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., 38 West Street, Broadalbin.

Services will be conducted at 11 am. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Patricia A. Bush officiating. Spring burial will take place at the Broadalbin Cemetery.

William McComb
March 22, 1997

William J. McComb, 90, of Jackson Street, Amsterdam, died early Saturday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility.

He was born Dec. 25, 1906 in Ballynagarrick, County Armagh, in Northern Ireland, the son of George and Henrietta Finlay McComb. He resided in Amsterdam for more than 60 years. 

Mr. McComb was employed as a tractor-trailer driver by Dorn's Transportation of Albany for 42 years, retiring in 1973.

He was a charter member of Teamsters #294 of Albany and a former member of the New York State Saddle Horse Association and the Dusty Boots Riding Club of Pattersonville.

Mr. McComb was a Protestant.

He was married Dec. 29, 1934 to the former Genevieve Kehoe.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, William J. McComb Jr., of Long Island Beach, Long Island, and David M. McComb of Altamont; a sister, Lily McComb of County Armagh, Northern Ireland; and three granddaughters, Tricia McComb Lloyd of York, Pa., Michelle McComb and Kristen McComb, both of Albany.

There will be no calling hours. 

A private funeral service will be conducted Monday at the convenience of the family at the Betz Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., with the Rev. Robert Doxey officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility, or the Greater Amsterdam Volunteer Ambulance Corps, in care of the funeral home.
 

Harold Shults
March 21, 1997

Harold B. Shults, 93, formerly of 13 Northern Boulevard, Gloversville, died Friday evening at the Wells House in Johnstown. 

Born May 6, 1903 in Gloversville, he was the son of Frank and Emma Bergman Shults. He was a 1923 graduate of Gloversville High School and was a life-long area resident. 

Mr. Shults owned and operated Dunkel & Shults Stove Store from 1926 to 1933. He later was employed as a foreman of Robison & Smith Dry Cleaning for 32 years, retiring in 1968. 

He was an active member of the St. James Lutheran Church of Gloversville and its Bible study group. He was a member of the Gloversville Masonic Lodge #429 and a past master of the lodge. He was a past potentate of the Cyprus Shrine Temple and a member of the Sigma Bodies of the Scottish Right Valley of Schenectady.

In 1976, Mr. Shults became a 33rd Degree Mason. In 1965, he became High Priest of the Johnstown Royal Arch Masons. He belonged to the Royal Order of the Jesters of the Masonic Order, the Red Cross of Constantine, and was the Illustrious Master of Johnstown Council and a past commander of the Holy Cross Commandry of Gloversville.

Mr. Shults was predeceased by his wife, Bonnie Veronica Lyndugh Shults, whom he married on June 24, 1929. She died on their 59th wedding anniversary in 1988.

Survivors include one brother, Kenneth H. Shults of Amsterdam; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home, 4 Second Ave., Gloversville. There will be a Masonic Ritual at 4 p.m Sunday in the funeral home.

Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral homewith the Rev. Paul D. Rohrbacher of the St. James Lutheran Church of Gloversville officiating. 

A spring burial is planned in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the shrine Crippled Children's Hospital, 516 Careau St., Springfield, Mass.

Bernice Uhlinger
March 21, 1997

Bernice Uhlinger, 78, of McKay Road, Amsterdam, died Friday at home after a long illness.

Born Aug. 12, 1918 in Broadalbin, she was the daughter of William and Kate Colony Weiderman.

Mrs. Uhlinger was employed at General Foods as a production worker. More recently, she was employed at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital as a home health aide.

Her husband, Raymond Uhlinger, died in January 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Van Hoesen of Amsterdam; a son, Leon Wiederman of Utica; three brothers, Howard Wiederman of Gloversville, Arthur Wiederman of Broadalbin and Lester Wiederman of Perth; five sisters, Edith McLouth of Amsterdam, Helen Sarsdahl of Puyallup, Wash., Clara Steffak of Broadalbin, Hazel Tomlinson of Warnerville, and Dorothy Wiederman of Broadalbin; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She also is survived by a long-time companion, Alvin Busch, of Gloversville.

As per her request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville.

Raymond Nagele
March 22, 1997

Raymond O. Nagele, 82, of 57 East Main St., St. Johnsville, died Saturday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.

Born Sept. 12, 1914 in St. Johnsville, he was the son of Karl and Sophie Singer Nagele. He was educated in St. Johnsville schools and lived all his life in the St. Johnsville area.

He married Gladys Christman on Nov. 9, 1946.

Mr. Nagele was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. While serving his country, he was a prisoner of war for four years.

Mr. Nagele was a cattle dealer until his retirement in 1987.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was also a lifelong member of the Fort Plain Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

He married Gladys Christman on Nov. 9, 1946.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sisters, Marion Silvernail of Dolgeville and Hazel Komar of St. Johnsville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, with the Rev. Dennis Fonkert, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in West St. Johnsville Cemetery in the spring.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Raymond Plumadore
March 22, 1997

Raymond E. Plumadore, 77, of Branch Street, Gloversville died Saturday at home.

Mr. Plumadore was a 1939 graduate of Gloversville High School.

He was first employed with his father as an electrician and later worked with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 166 in Schenectady, retiring in 1974.

A sergeant in the U.S. Army's 27th Infantry Division from 1940 to 1944, Mr. Plumadore served in Europe and the Pacific and received a European Theatre Medal, a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Purple Heart Association.

He married Anna Pierrepont Plumadore on April 22, 1945.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Janice A Foote of Fort Johnson and Bonita R. Mitchell of Gloversville; a brother, Harold J. Plumadore of Gloversville; a sister, Rita E. Longfritz of Gloversville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home, 13 Prospect Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
 

Steven Dlugos
March 5, 1997

Steven T. Dlugos of Amsterdam died March 5 at Canandaigua Veterans Medical Center.

Born July 2, 1918 in Amsterdam, he was the son of Anna and Steven Dlugosz.

Mr. Dlugos was employed as a factory worker.

He was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Amsterdam. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Merchant Marine veteran.

Survivors include a brother, Raymond Dlugosz of New Windsor and one sister, Sally DePascale of Rochester.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. March 31 with the Rev. Matthew Jelenek of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Beacon, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be at St. Luke's Cemetery, Beacon.
 

Edward Robinson
March 21, 1997

Edward Robinson, 86, a resident of Montgomery Meadows Health Care Facility, died Friday evening after a long illness.

Mr. Robinson was born Oct. 27, 1910.

Joseph Uminski
March 23, 1997

Joseph Uminski, 99, of Daniel Street, Amsterdam, died Sunday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital following a short illness.

Born March 19, 1898 in Russia, Mr. Uminski resided in Hempstead and New York York City before moving to Amsterdam in 1916.

He was employed as a tailor for many years and owned and operated his own tailor shop. He was also employed by Amsterdam Dry Cleaners for many years, retiring in 1960.

Mr. Uminski was a member of the Polish National Alliance and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam.

He married Natalie Violet Podlewski on Jan 7, 1922. She died Oct. 5, 1988.

Survivors include two daughters, Eleanor Lubin of Parma Heights, Ohio; and Lillian Klump, of Amsterdam; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
