Dorothy E. Goetting
Former seamstress, 90

Dorothy E. Goetting of Lititz, Pa., formerly of Callicoon, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 in Lancaster, Pa. She was 90.
Born on June 8, 1917 in Bronx, New York, she was a seamstress and housewife.
She was widowed in 1972.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Goetting of Rochester and Gerald Goetting of Middletown, Conn.; one daughter, Lorraine Dicks, wife of Michael R. Dicks of Lititz, Pa.; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 17at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main Street, Callicoon.
Services will be held Friday evening at 8:30 p.m.
Burial will be made in the Callicoon Cemetery.

Alice Novogrodsky
Homemaker, 68

Alice Ann Novogrodsky of Woodridge passed away on August 14, 2007 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. She was 68.
The daughter of Leo and Mary Devore, she was born in Woodridge on April 17, 1939.
Surivivors include her husband, Joe Novogrodsky of Woodridge; one son, Michael Novogrodsky and wife, Dorothy, of Woodridge; one daughter, Tracy Novogrodsky and her husband, Tom Mountsier, of San Jose, California; one sister, Irene Proyect and her husband, Steve, of South Fallsburg; one brother, Leo Devore and wife, Lorraine, of Greenfield Park; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Douglas Novogrodsky; four sisters-in-law, Lucile Devore, and Pookie, Judy and Francis Novogrodsky; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her favorite granddog, Taz.
She was predeceased by both parents and one brother, Joseph Devore.
Her main enjoyment was her Atlantic City life.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 17 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne.
Burial will be made in the Hillside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 149 E. Main Street, Middletown, NY 10940.

Elma Hansen
Homemaker, 82

Elma Hansen of Jeffersonville, a homemaker and lifetime resident of the area, died Monday, August 13, 2007 at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Center in Liberty. She was 82.
The daughter of Arnold and Ruth Lawrence Thony, she was born July 6, 1925 in Jeffersonville.
She was a member of the Jeffersonville Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Hazel Hull and Helen Hughson, both of Jeffersonville; a sister-in-law, Marion Thony of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Ruth Smith; a son, Charles Hansen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Herbert and Albert Thony.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Angela Conforti Crane
Retired Cafeteria Worker, 86

Angela Conforti Crane of Monticello, a retired cafeteria worker for JFK High School in Paterson, N.J., died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. She was 86.
The daughter of the late Michael Conforti and Reginalda Tafuni Conforti, she was born May 23, 1921 in Paterson, N.J. She was the widow of Raymond Crane.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Bonfiglio and her husband, Ralph of Monticello; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Church, Chamberlain & West Broadway in Paterson, N.J.
Burial will follow in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Paterson.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Family Council, Skilled Nursing Unit at CRMC, PO Box 515 Harris, NY 12742.
Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.

Elaine A. Halahan
Teacher, 55

Elaine A. Halahan, a third grade teacher at Mechanicstown Elementary School in Middletown and formerly taught at Cornwall High School, entered into rest at home on Thursday, July 26, 2007. She was 55.
She was the daughter of the late Edwin D. and Dorothy Butzgy Vreeland, she was born July 13, 1952 in Middletown. She was the wife of Mark Halahan, who resides at home.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg. She achieved her Bachelor's Degree at S.U.N.Y. Brockport and then completed her Master's Degree at East Stroudsburg State University, in East Stroudsburg, Pa., she taught Physical Education for many years at Cornwall High School having coached volleyball and soccer, she coached volleyball at J.S. Burke Catholic High School, coached the Empire State Soccer Team in the late 1970's, and she was actively involved in the church having served as a Eucharistic Minister. She loved outdoor activities and was an avid water skier.
A family statement reads, "She was deeply loved by her family and friends, and dedicated to the Catholic Church, Elaine lived a life of care and compassion towards others around her. Filled with life, energy and love, all who knew Elaine were touched by her. Her magic was so far reaching that she mentored everyone from the young to the elderly. The imprints she left behind on our hearts are everlasting."
In addition to her husband, Mark, Elaine is survived by her three sons, Stephen, Paul and Eric Halahan, all of Otisville; two sisters, Jeanne Zoll and her husband, Ronald of Otisville and Joanne Hosking and her husband, Donald of Hobart; nieces and nephews, Timothy and Jena Zoll and Matthew and Audrey Pooley; her mother-in-law, Norma Halahan; two sisters-in-law, Maureen Halahan and her husband, Bill Pooley and Jean Halahan; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edwin D. and Dorothy Butzgy Vreeland and her father-in-law, Jack Halahan.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 30 in Our Lady Of The Assumption Church in Bloomingburg. Father Raymond Bagdonis O'Carm officiated.
Interment followed in Holy Name Cemetery in Otisville.

Edward G. McKune
Retired Meat Cutter, 70

Edward G. McKune of Liberty, a retired meat cutter for the Victory Market in Liberty and lifelong area resident died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 70.
The son of Edith Davenport McKune and the late Peter McKune, he was born May 16, 1937 in Horton.
Edward served Our Country in the US Army from 1955 to 1961; he was a member of the Russell Sprague American Legion Post #109, Liberty; a member of the Clarence Hoyt VFW Post #9217, Liberty; and a member of the Liberty Elk’s Lodge #1545. He had also been employed by the Liberty Central School for a few years before retiring.
Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Linda A. Beiling McKune, at home; his mother, Edith Davenport McKune Cannon of Liberty; a son, Daniel E. McKune of Liberty; two daughters, Kathleen Miller and her husband, Richard of Ballston Spa and Kim Marie Stahl and her husband, Michael of Livingston Manor; three brothers, Peter McKune and his wife, Pearl of Cambridge, Richard McKune and his wife, Sharon of White Sulphur Springs and John Ostrander and his wife, Dawn of Liberty; three sisters, Mary Lou Murray of Portland, Ore., Linda Kendal of Ellenville and Barbara Ostrander of Cuddebackville; five grandchildren, Megan Eisenberg of Liberty, Mikaela Stahl of Livingston Manor, Franklin, Travis and Richard Miller, all of Ballston Spa; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, Nikki.
He was predeceased by a son, Timothy G. McKune; a brother Allen McKune and a sister, Anna Marie McKune.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 1 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Harris Funeral Home, West Street at Buckley, Liberty.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 1 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Robert McIntosh will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Cold Springs Road, Liberty.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Orange-Sullivan Hospice, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home, Liberty.

Donald Williams III, 25

Donald E. Williams III of Port Jervis, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at the Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis. He was 25 years of age.
The son of Julie and Donald Williams Jr., he was born June 23, 1975, in Goshen.
His family remembers his love of horses and his involvement with the Junior ROTC at Middletown High School.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Allen Kelly, of Middletown; his father of Minnesota; a brother, Peter Williams and his wife, Jennifer of Campbell Hall; a sister, Lynn Battle and her husband, Anthony of Middletown; two step-brothers, Brad and Christopher Kelly, both of Bloomingburg; his grandparents, Dorothy and Bernie Kilbourn, Peter and Lydia Bibeau, Sherri and Donald Williams Sr. and Mildred and Walter Kelly; two aunts, Lynn Ritchel and Linda Williams-Simmons; an uncle, Thomas Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.
Interment will be made in the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery in Bloomingburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Place at Bon Secours, 160 East Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y. 12771.

Pamella Godfrey
Ret. Nurse, 52

Pamella Sue Bair Godfrey of Goshen, a retired nurse and a longtime area resident, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at her home. She was 52 years of age.
The daughter of Myrtle Brumbaugh Bair and the late Francis C. Bair Sr., she was born October 19, 1948, in Sharon, Pa.
She is survived by her mother of Goshen; two sons, Scott Charles Malinowski of Goshen and Sgt. Palmer "Kenny" Malinowski of Jacksonville, N.C.; a sister, Alice Nuzzolese of Goshen; a brother, Frank Bair of Youngsville; four grandchildren, Scottie, Sarah, Tori and Noah; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William James Bair and Gerald "Jerry" Bair.
Services were held Saturday at the Lippincott Funeral Chapel in Goshen with the Rev. Virginia Hoch officiating.
Burial was private.
