ACKLEY - 65th

The Rev. and Mrs. Charles W. Ackley of 108 Cole Street, Sayre, PA, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family gathering on Sunday, March 3rd. Charles Ackley and the former Frances E. Tripp, were married in Oxford, NY, on March 3, 1937. The couple has 2 children. They are Joyce Bush of West Falls, NY and John C. Ackley of West Hempstead, NY. There are 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Mr. Ackley is a retired United Methodist Minister.

Obituary of Frances Ackley:

Frances Ackley, 99, passed away following a short illness at Elderwood Nursing Home in Hamburg, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late Glen and Ruth (nee Seeley) Tripp and wife of the late Rev. Charles W. Ackley. Her husband served as a pastor of the United Methodist Church and they spent their lives serving churches in South Dakota and central New York. She is survived by her sister, Pauline (late Richard) Kline; son, John C. (Diane) Ackley; grandchildren John A. (Jessica) Ackley and Michael G. and Dianna J. Ackley; daughter, Joyce A. (B. Conrad) Bush; grandchildren, Richard K. (Julie) Bush; great-grandchildren, Victoria M. Bush, Jaden Flick, Jagger Flick; grandson, Charles M. (Christina) Bush; and great-grandson, Jackson G. Bush. She is also survived by nephews, Richard Kline and Peter Kline and their families. Services will be held privately with the Rev. Todd Glendenning presiding. A memorial service will be held at the Wesleyan Church of Orchard Park on May 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wesleyan Church of Orchard Park, 7295 Ellicott Road, Orchard Park, NY 14127 or the Waverly United Methodist Church, 158 Chemung St., Waverly, NY 14892. [Obit dated Apr 7, 2015]
