HAZLETT - 50TH

York and Christine Hazlett of Tioga, PA marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a Family Dinner at the Lindenwald Haus in Elmira, NY on November 29, 2003. Mr. York Hazlett and the former Christine Douglas were married November 29, 1953 by the Rev. Victor Detty at the Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville, PA. The couple has two children. They are Cindy Warfle of Tioga and Julie Hazlett of Corning, NY. There are four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Hazlett is retired from Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post, NY and Mrs. Hazlett is retired from R. B. Walter School in Tioga.

Obituary of York Hazlett:

Richard "York" Hazlett, age 81, of Tioga, PA, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Darway Elder Care Center, Forksville, PA. He was born September 22, 1933 in Elkland, PA, the son of George and Doretta Mae (Oakden) Hazlett. Richard was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and the Tioga American Legion Post 235. He retired from Dresser Rand after 40 years of employment. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Christine; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Cynthia and Gary Warfle of Tioga, PA, and Julie Hazlett of Livingston, TX; 4 grandchildren, Charity(Adam) Carl, Meagan (Dennis) Chapmen, Andrew (Anna) Warfle, and Autumn (Jairus) Young; 5 great grandchildren Chase, Bella, Laurel, Grace, and Logan; and a sister Myra Mae Tennant of Elkland, PA. Richard was predeceased by his parents; 6 brothers Ralph, Donald, Maynard, Cyril, Royce, and Winston Hazlett; and a sister Georgeanna Burke. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, from 5 to 7 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10:30 A.M at the Calvary United Methodist Church 6 Franklin St., Lawrenceville PA, with Reverend Mary Dotson officiating. Burial will be held at Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620 or the Calvary United Methodist Church P.O. Box 237, Lawrenceville, PA 16929.
