Amanda Hammond and W. Chad Josey both of Raleigh, NC were married July 5, 2003 at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Bath, NY. The 4pm ceremony was performed by Father Dennis Weink. The Bride is the daughter of Leonard and Sheila Hammond of Bath. She is a graduate of Haverling High School, received her AS in Math Science and AAS in Chemical Technology from Corning Community College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Chemistry from UNC Charlotte. Currently she is a PhD candidate at North Carolina State University. The Groom is the son of Lonnie and Marsha Josey of Troutman, NC. He is a graduate of S. Ivadell High School in Troutman, received his BS in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina University and his MBA from Queens College in Charlotte, NC. Currently he is employed as a Project Manager at US Filter in Raleigh. The Matron of Honor was Sheila Hammond (Mother of the Bride). Bride's attendants were Lisa Bills and Tammy Bills (Sisters of the Groom) from Troutman; and Lili Poon (Friend of the Bride) from Long Island, NY. The Flower Girl was Stephanie Bills (Niece of the Groom) and Ring Bearer was Tyler Bills (Nephew of the Groom). Best Man was Lonnie Josey (Father of the Groom). The Groomsmen were Chris Safrit (Cousin of the Groom) from Charlotte; Josh Hammond (Brother of the Bride) from Bath; Aaron Morrison (Friend of the Groom) from Raleigh; Kelton Sprinkle (Friend of the Groom) from Statesville, NC; Mitch Nichols (Cousin of the Bride) from Bath; and Jake Voorhees (Cousin of the Bride) from Elmira, NY. The reception was held at Heron Hill Winery in Hammondsport, NY. After a honeymoon to Key West, Florida for two weeks, the couple will reside in Raleigh.
