LAZORATION - 60TH

Peter Lazoration and Mamie Lou Lazoration of Horseheads, NY will mark their 60th Wedding Anniversary with a picnic at Harris Hill Outing Center in Elmira, NY on August 31, 2003 from 11am-3pm. Peter Lazoration and the former Mamie Lou Andress were married August 1, 1943 by the Rev. Dade at St. Patrick's Church in Washington, DC. The couple has five children. They are Carol of Buffalo, NY; Shirley of Williamsville, NY; Mary of Horseheads; Connie of Horseheads; and Gayle of Scotts, MI. There are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Peter graduated from Cornell University in 1939 and served over 25 years in the US Army and US Army reserves attaining the rank of Captain and is retired from Agway. Mamie attended Business School in Montgomery, AL and worked for the US Navy Department from 1942-1944 and is a Homemaker. Peter and Mamie also served the local community for many years as volunteers through AARP. They delivered Meals on Wheels, assisted at the Horseheads Historical Museum, delivered the Gold Card News, and volunteered at the VA Hospital in Bath among other assignments. Together, they were recipients of the Chemung County Senior Citizen of the Year Award in 1996, and were nominated for the Mildred Parfitt Award in 2003. They are members of St. Mary Our Mother Church, Southern Tier Rose Society, Horseheads Loyal Order of the Moose, North County Senior Citizens, NYS Grange, AARP, American Legion, and Horseheads Historical Society. Friends and family are invited to visit with the couple at a picnic at Harris Hill Outing Center in Elmira from 11am-3pm on Sunday, August 31, 2003.
